This was not the best BBQ I've ever had. Actually, it was the worst I've ever had. Â I ordered the pulled pork with the sweet and sticky sauce, BBQ baked beans, and corn on the cob. The meat and sauce were tasteless. Not even bland; just tasteless. I felt like I was chewing on tires. The BBQ baked beans might as well have been bacon and onions in maple syrup with a smattering of beans. The corn on the cob was hard and dry. I felt like a senior citizen who knew better and should have stuck to cornmeal mush. No amount of butter on Earth could have rescued that corn.
The only saving grace for the meal was dessert: the apple bread pudding is TO DIE FOR. Soft, buttery, and ooey gooey. :-) The butterscotch topping is delicious. Huge enough to share (of course I did not).
My partner and I went around 10pm on a Sunday, so the place was pretty empty. But the ambience was nice, and the service was friendly. Extra kudos for recommending the apple bread pudding!
I'd probably come back for an appetizer, to see a set, and definitely to get more of that bread pudding. Pass on the BBQ. Terrible. Horrible.
Good smoked pork, nice atmosphere. Â We went on a Friday night but didn't have a problem getting a table. Â The smoked pork platter with the Bourbon sauce was excellent. Â Nice smoked flavor. Â The price was reasonable and we went near St. Patty's day so they had Guinness and Jameson specials for $4. Â There was a $5/person cover charge for the live band. Â The band was okay but the sound was poor. Â It's a tough room acoustically but the sound mixer didn't do a good job with EQ or balance so that was disappointing.
