Bam; Flemings knocked it out of the park! I'll admit, I'm usually a Ruths' Chris guy, but the one in Destin was less than stellar on Father's Day. With that being said, we had a bad taste in our mouth, and decided to make it up, and dine at Flemings a few days later.

    Its probably been 2-3 years snce I've eaten at a Flemings. Throughout the years, I've probably dined at 12 different Flemings, with the first being in Tampa about 10 years ago. I've always loved their wine list, and the fact they serve *prime* beef. When we walked in, we were immediately seated, and the hostess gave me an ipad to peruse through the wine list. Very cool! {salivating}

When our server (Dan) came by, I immediately recognized him from the old Copper Grill location on 98. He's a character, but he knows the menu, and wine list, like no other.  For entrees, all of us had filets, and they were prepared to perfection. Very tasty! We paired the filets with some Silver Palm Cab. Heaven.

Great service, excellent food, and a wine list to die for. I will skip pass Ruth's Chris next time I'm in Destin, and head directly to Flemings!

Perfection should be on tap here considering the prices. 3 people-$293 drink tab and $177 food tab. Not including the substantial tip we gave our server. We had a good experience but for nearly $600 total it should be mind blowing!

We each had a pre dinner cocktail and shared 2 bottles of wine...hey we like to drink. The wine in a liquor store is around $60, here $120. They offer you an ipad wine list, thats fun and the options are plentiful. Our first bottle comes out and the decanters are warm so no decanting for us...bottle sits on the counter behind us. However the wine was chilled well and delicious.

We had one app for our table along with bread. Fried pork belly, the guys loved it...nearly licked the plate clean. I shared a wedge salad (because I know it is huge) which they kindly split for us and another had the Heirloom salad featuring red and golden beets. Both salads were perfect and the bread was delicious.

Entrees were the filet, grilled salmon and a bunch of sides. Sides were Chipotle Mac n Cheese, Onion Rings, Green Beans and Double Cut French Fries. Filet and Salmon- both perfect! Green Beans not very good and Double Cut fries they were not, seasoned well but not hot or crispy just a bowl full of ugly looking fries. The server says they used to be shoestring so I guess because they are slightly larger they decided to call them double cut. Needless to say the fries and green beans were still on the table when we left.

Service went well from beginning to end. Our server was nice but we actually thought it was her first day due to the puzzled looks we received from her upon asking a few questions, we actually asked when she started-she replied October? Apparently Flemings changes things up often and the staff gets lost in it.

Pet Peeve Alert #1 Please server don't pick up the check while we are still there enjoying the last of our wine, I know you want to see how much you made but we aren't done here...#2  don't sit us next to the kitchen when the restaurant is only half full...

Big Picture, we had an enjoyable evening among friends and would go back. The bar is just set so high when the prices are set so high.

Any restaurant that has a gluten-free menu should train their servers on g-free food, right? I know it's extra work, but if you don't want us in there, put a "Stay Away" sign on the door. Certainly don't tempt us in with your menu targeting us. I explained to the server that my guest and I were both allergic to gluten. I even noted it on the reservation, but there was bread at every turn - on my salad plate, on my boyfriend's entree. Cross contamination is sometimes hard to avoid, but this was carelessness. We both ended up sick. Ugggh.

We dine at Fleming's throughout the country and find the Destin Location to be exceptional.  The happy hour is fantastic, great wine, beer and drink selections paired with very reasonable happy hour food options.  After drinks in the bar, we had dinner in the main dining room.  The filet was buttery...wonderful.  The prime steaks are always great here of course.  The service is attentive and spot-on accurate.  I love the Chocolate Lava cake and splurge on that twice a year.

Here's my ONLY suggestion to diners....we were NOT happy to see the dining room fill up with BABIES AND TODDLERS on Sunday evening!  YIKES!  Folks, if you insist on bringing your infants out to dinner so other diner's can be tormented by their screeching...banging...and stinky diaper changes in the rest rooms...could you PLEASE go to a family restaurant and NOT a Steakhouse and wine bar?  Honestly, if I was at a chain....I would expect it but when I show up prepared to enjoy a high-end adult dinner...I'm not amused by your little darlins'....sorry but it's how I feel.  To the establishment:   if you could corral all the babies in one area AWAY from me...that would be great!

Went for happy hour and was very impressed. There is occaisionally a wait to get into the bar but it is worth it. High quality appertizers are very well priced and the drinks are equally reasonable. We had several different items; shrimp' calamari, carpaccio, ravioli and a flat bread and none failed to meet epectations. Friendly bartender (Trish) and great atmosphere. My price "quote" is for happy hour but dinner is $$$$.!

Wasn't a huge Filet fan, I prefer a juicy rib eye BUT the filet literally melted in my mouth it was so tender.. It was a nice change of paste. But, I did not like the spices they used on the shrimp cocktail.  I also wished they had different ounces of steak available. Not everyone wants a flintstone portion..  Great happy hour though half price apps and drinks.

As always, we had an amazing dining experience tonight. It was made even more enjoyable by our waitress Brittany. She was truly outstanding and took very good care of us. Big shout out to Brittany!!

We had reservations for Sunday 08/12/12 @ 0730. We arrived on time and were seated right away. Our waiter was good. I forget his name though....(oops).. They had some good specials for the day, but my wife and I both had the Prime Rib dinner special for $38 which they offer on Sundays only..  Boy was it worth it... you get a choice of salad..we both had the "wedge" salad...with blue cheese dressing, tomatoes & red onions...very good... you also get a choice of side...we had the creamed spinich and the Fleming's potatoes...both were excellent....and the prime rib was Im guessing about 16 oz?...perfectly cooked with 3 sauces.. and you also get a choice of desert....we had carrot cake which we both thought was fantastic and a slice of NY cheesecake..which was good, but I didnt think as good as the carrot cake, but certainly not bad at all...  Very good experience..

We had an incredible meal! And yes, we paid for it. The seafood tower, grilled lobster and steaks were fantastic. I suggest going but be prepared to average $125.00 per person if you drink!

From what I experienced, you are better off buying a steak at Publix and eating at home.  I wish I did!  I had bad service - I did not even have salt and pepper, and bad food - the steak tasted as though it had been aged with seafood.  If you cannot make a decent steak and offer salt and pepper, please close and let a real restaurant open.  I should have gone to Mcgwyers!

We visited Fleming's while on vacation because we like the Chicago location.

Great steak house look, good but not great service, great location but it's all about the meat for me at a steak house.  My New York Strip was done medium, just the way I asked.  But it just tasted just OK.  Nothing special.  At the Fleming's in Chicago my wife and I love the Filet.  Really.  The Filet at Fleming's in Chicago is absolutely the best.  Just OK here.  I'm not sure what's up.  It's supposed to be the same Prime meat but the flavor just wasn't there.

Our waitress was friendly and professional but got lost a couple of times.  She screwed up my baked potato and no spoon for the mushrooms.  These are little things but when you have a $250 bill for a wife and husband with two young girls you expect more.

Great wine selection and we enjoyed ours.

We intend on returning to the area in a few months for a summer vacation but I'm afraid we will have to try the competition to find a good steak in the area.  Ruth has got a place down the road.

If you are not in the mood to stay for one of their amazing meals, try the happy hour and get calamari and a burger at the bar.  Top it off with the great martini - with fresh blue cheese stuffed olives.

Overly great service, so much so that it was like a hover craft. I won't complain because it is obvious they care. I went into this assuming it was a chain so it wouldn't be so great. I am tough to please. I hate chains and boring food so I have to say I was not expecting much. One can tell that they care about how they cook the food. Let us start with the salad. I could make one better. Too much raspberry vinegrette coating the spinach. It was heavy as opposed to light and crisp. The second course was supposedly wild caught salmon but tasted like the same farm-raised I buy from Publix but cooked well. Since this is a "steak house" get the steak. It was the simply the best part of the meal besides the wine parings. All sides had too much of an oily taste for me. Wine was good. Chef was kind and well-liked by employees. The people are great that run the place. But it doesn't really compare to my favorite locally owned restaurants. I probably wouldn't go back unless asked to join a friend.

Food was good, service very slow. Arrived for our res @ 7pm, took until 730pm to get our drinks.  Probably will not go back, too many other steakhouses that value good service with comparable food.

We celebrated my wife's birthday and our anniversary at Fleming's the same night and were treated like royalty by the staff.

They inquired when we entered if the night was for a celebration and we informed the hostess of our reasons for coming. They asked us to wait two minutes and when they came to seat us, our table was covered with rose petals.

The service was beyond 10-out-of-10. The manager stopped by to inquire about our anniversary/wife's birthday and see if we were enjoying the evening. She even gave us her card.

The server was excellent and even had her own card which she gave us for future reference.

The food was excellent and we were truly treated like royalty. We visit the Sandestin area at least four times a year and definitely plan to return to Flemings.

A-plus service and food all the way!

When we visited Fleming's for happy hour, we were pleased with the choices of food and beverages. The staff was friendly, and attentive. We ordered burgers and wine. The burgers were prepared as requested, and were delicious. They have a nice selection of wine, beer, and martinis. Happy hour is available in the bar area from 5 to 7.

Great steaks with delicious flemings potatoes!  Excellent wine selection.  I had a filet, medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly.  Jesse had the cracked pepper steak and the sauce that comes with it is yummy!  They also have a few low calorie mixed drinks which is a great change to the usual.  The potatoes are the best here with them scalloped, placed in layers with cream sauce and jalapenos!  Definitely a great date spot!

.....of Fleming's happy hour that is.  Good value at $6 martinis and appetizers, good portion sizes, nice dark environment at the bar unlike the glare of the one in Nashville.  Splendid cocktails, and we love our calamari with sweet sauce.  Sometimes its nice to be in a grown up bar and still have sand between your toes!

First time I went to Flemings was on vacation to Florida they have the best service and they chill you salad fork. The waiter gave me a birthday card signed by the staff and at the end of my dinner he gave me fancy chocolates It was a wonderful experience I would highly recommend this place to all.

I have read the other reviews...and we must have been at Flemings on their "off night".  The steak was good but should be for the price. The hamburger was was mediocre and had a stale bun. They botched our order....tried to give us a $25 credit...which is enough to pay for the bread basket and that's about it....not overly impressed for the price you pay and the experience that one would expect from Flemings.

Food is superb! Our waitress was great-she she had great recommendations on wine pairings. Bread, steaks, green beans, asparagus, wedge salad, extensive by the glass wine choices. This sounds picky maybe but 2servers & 3bus boys were constantly asking us if all was ok , could they remove plates?, is everything ok?,checking on us. While this sounds great it was so much attention & constant that we felt we were being interrupted. Great service can be there without being constant interruption. Also was annoyed that there was no toilet paper in bathroom & no extra available. I told hostess and she say "ok." the food is 5 star but service needs to be adjusted& fine tuned. Again our waitress was wonderful!

A perfect place for a special occassion. We began with a salad (par) and the lobster bisque. If they are offerring the bisque, order it. The best I've ever had. I ordered the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked. The quality was exceptional. Everything about Fleming's was just right. Great ambience, food, service.

You just can't go wrong with Flemings.  Period.  It was our favorite place in Birmingham before moving to Destin, and it's our favorite place here as well.  Yes, it is pricey.  But, the best things in life are special, and you just don't have them every day.  That's what makes it so dang good!  But, if you want the Flemings experience on a budget, go for happy hour:  "Five for Six till Seven".  For just $6 per item, you get a selection of five different cocktails, five wines, five appetizers, and best of all, the absolute best prime burger with cheese and bacon that you have ever wrapped your lips around.  I mean, seriously, you can pay $6 for a burger at a fast food joint, wouldn't you rather have Flemings'?  Just show up before 7pm, and have a great meal at a reasonable price.

I have eaten at the Fleming's in San Diego and was always impressed.  Hubby and I decided to go here for our 1 year anniversary.  It was amazing.

We both ordered the trio of filets on special (three 4.5 oz filets with different sauces, a caprese salad, broccoli side and a trio of creme brulees for dessert) for $45 each.  They were simply superb.  We ordered a bottle of wine that was very tasty (and reasonably priced at $36).

The service was perfect.  Enough attention to ensure we were okay, but not too much so we were annoyed.  Our food was amazing, flavorful and cooked to perfection.  My only little complaint was that the creme brulees were a tad bit runny- like they hadn't had enough time to set.  But they were so good it didn't really matter.

We were given some coupons to come back again.  Nice incentive, but they expire in 2 months... so that was kind of annoying since we don't do this kind of dinner that frequently (a 4 month window would have been nicer).  But I can't complain about free coupons- so I'll stop.

This was an amazing dinner for a wonderful occasion.  We will definitely be back.

One of the best steak places I've been to (and we are from Houston which has many). Awesome flavorful salad. Perfect steaks, my daughter had an amazing rare tuna loin. Deserts were perfect. Great service as well.  Everything was top notch here (appetizers, salads, deserts, etc.).  We ate way too much, but my kids already want to go back.  This is one we will return to for sure.  Reservations recommended (via web).

Update: Returned the next week.  Experience wasn't nearly as good. Service was so so, food was good, but not amazing.  Still new I guess and variable.  Lowered my rating to 4.

Fleming's is a prime example of a restaurant done right.  Everything, from the decor to the service to the food, is amazing.  I was impressed by how the staff seemed to communicate well with each other.  The service was seemless.  Everyone that served my table addressed me by name, from the waiter to the busboys to the manager, even though I had only given it to the hostess.  The bone-in filet made me question my love for Ruth's Chris.  I can't decide who has the better steak.  I guess I have no other option than to return to both places to try and figure it out :)  If we just had a Morton's, I would have no reason to ever leave Destin, at least as far as great steak is concerned.
