My lil bro was in town and wanted to meet up for happy hour.  I hadn't been to Fleming's in a while so was looking forward to heading over the WC.  Sadly, some of their appetizers on the happy hour menu changed.  No more mushroom ravioli....boo.

No more sauteed sweet chili calamari either.  Instead, we got fried, greasy and soggy calamari.  This actually alarmed me a little after reading an article that investigated fried calamari rings being substituted with pork anus....yes, pork bunghole!  Granted, I'm sure that Fleming's doesn't do that, but I have been very cognizant of eating just the tentacles lately.

Our second let-down dish was the pork belly.  The 3 pieces of pork belly were so fatty and burnt, that they were inedible.  This dish came with a scoop of what seemed like polenta, which was unseasoned and just completely tasteless.

The saving grace was the Prime burger, ordered medium.  It's a good fancy burger for $6.  Can't really beat that.  It came with bacon, which I gladly forked over to brother and the usual fixins of red onion, tomato and lettuce.  I thought it a little strange that the lettuce was cut crosswise instead of just a leaf.  Burger came with the usual suspects of a side of fries.

Bro ordered Johnny Walker on the rocks (not happy hour price) and we both had a glass of pinot noir each.  Wine specials were $5 per glass.  Service was fine in the bar area.  Our server checked on us occasionally but wasn't stifling.

I'm bummed that I have to downgrade my review on Fleming's.  If I were in WC for happy hour again, I'll probably opt to try out another spot since there are so many restaurants in the downtown area.

So I am giving 2 stars because My boyfriend and I wanted to eat at the bar for Happy Hour but was not able to do so because there was no parking anywhere and we ended up missing happy hour so we RSVP through open table to sit in the main dining room. I have been to Fleming's many times for happy hour and main dining room dinners. I have never had any issues with this place except for this night...so we sit down and our waitress comes over and takes our drink order everything is fine so far...then we order our meals i missed HH so i really wanted the prime burger and I've had it in the main dining room before so i order that and the waitress tells me I can't order that because that is for the bar only, i told her I've had it before and she said sometimes they make exceptions but tonight wasn't one. So i was kinda bummed because right before i order she went on this long thing about how we can customize your dinner and anything you want we can do. But i guess not for me. She just made the evening a bust. I felt like every time we asked her something she just kept giving a stupid response. So overall I am very disappointed with this place and I'm sad because this was a place i loved going too. I have brought many friends here.

    Fleming's, what happened to you?!

Main filet mignon: Med rare. Well cooked but the quality just wasn't there. Meat was tough and under seasoned. I expect filet mignon to be tender and melt in your mouth. This was not unfortunately.

Fleming's salad: Delicious with candied pecans and cranberries. But hey, I could make this at home.

Fleming's potatoes: Awesome. These were damn good like usual. Fluffy, light, slightly spicy, rich and creamy.

Roasted garlic mashed potatoes: Again, awesome. But hey, I'm a simple girl. I love potatoes.

Creamed corn: Pretty good but nothing special. Very rich but flavor fell flat.

Chipotle mac & cheese: Another on point side. Yum! I wish the portion were bigger. Not too creamy and had plenty of cheesy goodness. Must order.

Carrot cake: I remember theirs was really good before. Not no mo. Now it's just ok. No carrot flavor at all. It was more like a sweet cinnamon-ish cake. Frosting was not tart enough considering it was a cream cheese frosting. At least it was moist... That's what she said.

Side note: Extra stars for amazing service. Our waiter was so patient! We had a 10 month old and a 4 year old with us and they were a handful. At then end, the 4 year old wanted some apple slices and the waiter had some sliced up and packed in a to go container for the little one to munch on. Awesome!
