I went here on one of my first weekends staying in Memphis. Â I got to meet my roommate's gf this visit, and I was looking forward to it. Â Besides Beale St, I hadn't really been anywhere in town except to the Buffalo Wild Wings next to the house. Â So this was a Sunday night treat for me.
I had no idea what the hell Cordova was, except it was north of were we lived. Â So he said let's go check this place out. Â They had beer, and food, and tvs. Â What else could I ask for?
When we got there, we all got carded, then they were trying to talk about cover. Â Hell nah, its a Sunday night with absolutely nothing going on. Â So thankfully with minimal hustle, we proceeded without paying cover.
This location is about the same setup as the one on Sanderlin- eatery in the middle, pool tables on the left, and who knows on the right. Â We sat at the pool table side, and watched sports. Â The server came up pretty quickly but I had a tough time seeing what to get to drink, as all of the damn menus were so sticky I couldn't even open them up. Â That was cute.
I kept telling myself someone brought a bottle of syrup in and poured it on everything, as the thought of it being something else would get me sick. Â So I finally found a menu I could open and got some local brew. Â For food, they had plenty to choose from, I started off with an app platter- that had tenders, pretzels, skins, and I think something else. Â I also got a flatbread that night. Â What? I was hungry.
The pretzels came out and I tell you what- the ACTUAL pretzels were amazing. Â However, the stuff they put on it they called "salt" was damn near radioactive. Â Even after scraping off the "salt", it was overbearing. Â And salt usually does not bother me. Â I had blisters in my mouth after the 3 one. Â What a shame.
By the time my flatbread came, I almost didn't want to eat it, but I was too hungry. Â The flatbread wasn't too bad- I am sure though the extra sodium did not help my mouth. Â
All in all, the good and the bad canceled eachother out, leaving this place at a 2.5 stars. Â However, one of my employees told me that on certain Saturdays, they have wet t-shirt contests in the parking lot. Â Wonder if that makes it worth going back to?!?
Went here for lunch to try a new place. Ordered the beer battered fish and chips. when we got our food it was nice and brown on the outside but raw on the inside. I think the cook had his oil too hot. I sent it back and the manager comp'd the whole check for my friend and myself. Because of this, I am going to give them another try. Everyone has a bad day.
Review Source:Kind of expensive, kind of dark, smoke filled, long menu but nothing is better than average. On the plus side tons of TV's, nice pool tables and other games. Good beer selection(they had a big problem with warm beer but the last coupe of times I have been there it was much improved) When there is nothing sports wise on they play good music with videos. This is a big place so often there are parties going on. Not the cleanest or best maintained place in the world either.
Review Source:Went last night for St. Patricks Day. I was very pleased with everything. Sometimes when you go to a place like this the employees can be a bit snootie if you don't appear to be a prep (preppy). However last night was fun and good. It was packed, majorly! There was hardly any room to sit but we found an island in the main dining area off to the side. My wife ordered a burger and fries and I ordered the quesadillas. Both were very good. Our waitress was nice and more than helpful with anything we needed. This place seemed to be doing really well since it reopened. It was shut down a while back due to some drug trafficking and some sting operations. It really was a good time. The tab sure will add up quick with all the drinks. After dinner we planned to throw a game of darts. I asked the waitress for some quarters and was told I had to go to the bar. This is where the problem arose. They could not give me quarters at the bar because I had no cash. I asked the waitress for some quarters and told her I did not have any cash and to just give me the quarters and tack it on to the bill for what she gave me. She couldn't do this. So I had to use the ATM to get some cash out to get some change. The ATM would not read my card. In the end the waitress was able to help us out and get the quarters for us. She really went out of her way to help. Also the manager came and greeted us and asked how he could help. And between the two, another waitress came and tried to assist. I will definately be going back here. It was a nice place and the food was good. Plenty of pool tables, electronic dart board, packman/galaga machine. shuffle board table, nice place with 3 different rooms and plenty of seats, lots of t.v.'s, full bar, good food. Thats why I don't understand the other review about bad food. Maybe that guy went so late at night they had to throw it together real quick before they close who know. Actually, people go here FOR the food (and drinks of course).
Review Source:Big open space, pool tables, lots of flat screen showing sports, even a ping pong table. One flat screen even had a soccer match on one of the screen which gives it a bonus. Downsides? Order some nachos and they were very disappointed by them. I mean, really, how hard is it to get the nachos wrong. Lots of beer. Good service. Again, the smoke kind of sucks.
Review Source:Stopped here late at night to get some takeout. This has to be the worst food I've had anywhere. Â Even late at night and desperate for food, I could not manage to eat any of the food we ordered. The burger was terrible. Â The bun was soaking wet with grease or water, maybe both. The Quesadillas were fried in butter and completely inedible. The enchiladas were deep fried. Â Who deep fries enchiladas? Â They have to be the worst enchiladas on the planet. I'm no longer hungry, not because I have eaten a meal, but because I have sampled the food at The Fox and Hound.
