Was there this weekend, a Sunday night. I am not sure if it has changed hands or what but this used to be a great place to eat which is why we brought out of town guests, what a mistake. When we arrived we had to go find someone to seat us, they were in the back eating while their kids were running and screaming around the restaurant. The place was filthy. Food and trash all over the floor from lunch I suppose, and it took us 20 mins to get our drinks. The cook had to stop cooking for us, to go find the ?? Owners to tell them to seat guests, again they were too busy eating to even come out so he had to again stop and ask them to please seat the customers. The food was ok, the shrimp was obviously frozen and not cleaned. It was just a real disappointment. Should have opted for Cathay like we almost did. With customer service like this I don't expect them to be around much longer.
Review Source:Went here with my cousins while I was in town for my cousin's wedding in Bowling Green, KY. Â
Awe-some food! Â
Had the hibachi chicken-very good. Â And our chef was really cool. Â He gave me all the onions lol-I guess he wanted me to have crazy breath. Â Everyone's food was cooked well, and the sushi was also very delicious! Â
Nice place, on par!
I am pretty picky when it comes to eating Japanese food. Â With two Japanese sister-in-laws, I have experienced what REAL Japanese food is vs asian inspired, korean prepared, and just plain cheap chinese food being called Japanese. Â I have to say I was surprised by Fuji. Â I have only dined for lunch there and the lunch menu is very affordable. Â The chicken hibachi is delicious...the appetizer of Chicken Terriaki is also good. Â They offer steamed rice, by request, though most lunch dishes come with fried rice. Â The steamed rice is very good. Â Interestingly enough they serve a broth soup that is good but you can get Miso for a higher price. Â I am a fan of both and always find it interesting to see all the different ways different restaurants present Miso soup. Â The salad is a bit bland with just iceberg lettuce vs romaine but the dressing is a nice, light standard ginger orangy flavored dressing. Â The service was quick but getting the check at the end of the meal is always a wait. Â It's a bit pricey for lunch but still under $10 for most items. Â The sushi menu is large but has all my favorites like the philly roll. Â I highly recommend the place!
Review Source:I used to eat here quite often. Â But then the menu changed, then it looked like it had changed hands. The quality changed, too. Â We went a couple of times after the remodeling and the fish wasn't fresh, the wait staff became overloaded and thereby inattentive, and more than a couple of times we were given the wrong pieces of sushi. Not good. We've stopped going and drive a little further to either Sushin or Fin Fusion, our new favorite. Sorry, Fuji.
Review Source:Pro: Hibashi lunch tasted good.  (I brought 2 guests who love trying Hibashi lunch in many Japanese stake house. They both complement on the tasted of fired rice, meats, and vegetable.)  My hair and cloth did not smell after I finsh lunch. Decent green tea.  Good manner server  (did not send the food to the next person cross my face like the server in Samurai.)
Con: Use long grain rice for fired rice. Soup that come with Hibashi lunch is too salty (suggest to put some vegetable s, such as carrot or wakame seaweed, in the soup).
I've never had a bad meal here. Â It's always packed and busy, so you many want to make reservations on a weekend. Â It's pricey, but it's good! Â The sushi is excellent. Â The saki is great. Â I have been coming here forever.....it used to be called Hanonoki, and I do believe it's a little better in quality when it became Fuji's. Â They have also stopped serving lunch, so it's only open for dinner now.
Review Source:Fully remodeled, it's like a brand new restaurant!
The food was better than I remembered, although you will definitely pay for the service if you are having the hibachi grill. Â They also have a sushi bar where it looks like you sit on chairs that are on the ground.
I had the combo (steak, shrimp and scallops) which, like most hibachis, came with a salad and miso soup. Â The steak was OK, the shrimp were shrimp-like (small) and the scallops were good. Â All in all, it was the perfect amount. Â I left there definitely full, but not so stuffed that I needed a wheelbarrow.
The service was good, timely and attentive. Â The restaurant was pretty empty (it was Sunday night) so your service experience might be different if you came on Saturday night.
