Decent place.
Edamame and miso soup came out quick. Soup was good, edamame were hot but not salted well.
The jalapeño roll was really good. 12 pieces was a good serving and was reasonably price.
The biggest con is the no alcohol. Which in turn means no saki! I probably wouldn't return for that reason alone, although the food and service were acceptable.
Wow, this is normally my go to place for sushi. Yesterday, I drove 30 miles round trip to pick up 2 sushi rolls and some sashimi to go (total was $21). 5 piece sashimi for $8.95. Chef's Choice as to what fish was used. That is okay. Â Except: Â got home and the pieces were tiny. And TWO of the 5 were ARTIFICIAL CRAB MEAT LOGS!! Â
Well, you just lost a customer. I can pick up sushi up the street at Town & Country grocery store for much less, without the games.
Nothing here was fishy or gross, and the service was friendly, if a bit awkward and quite slow. We visited at lunch time on a weekday and this place was completely empty. That was not a good sign, but hey, someone has to discover the new great places. This wasn't one. We had four rolls, all of them were bland and heavy on rice. I'm not sure what other Yelpers were served, but our food was bland, boringly presented, and the best we could say was, at least the seafood seemed fresh.
Review Source:I use to eat at House of Kobe for years and loved their sushi, Until yesterday i walked into Fuji and will never order sushi again from House of Kobe. Â
I ordered the Spicy Girl and Shrimp Tempura roll. All i can say is wow, very fresh and tasty. Plus the presentation of the plate is excellent.
Will go back every time I'm in Portage
Went to fuji for the first time on Saturday. We were a little nervous about eating sushi in Portage. When showed up at 6:00 pm. The place only had 4 people dining at the time. We ordered 3 different dishes and 2 different soups. They were amazing. Very impressive. We will deffently go back. The only downfall was that the place did fill up. Not one open seat. The service did get slow. They could have used one more server on he floor.
Review Source:This place was just what I've bee looking for. Â GOOD TASTING , FRESH, CLEAN, and well ROLLED SUSHI ; Â )
It's priced just right for Sushi in NWI. Â The best part about my dinner, it did not taste like a pre-order Gordon's Food Pick !! Â This was fresh and VERY TASTY and SATISFYING. Â Ambiance was nice ( nothing over the top) . Â Great place for Sushi after work or night out with friends. Â 3 Â Thumbs Up
