I really enjoy the tacos here. The fish tacos are absolutely amazing and they def put Fuzzy's fish tacos to shame. I don't know if its the sauce, the meaty fish, or the fixins...but its good! The prices are great and the portions serve justice.
The margaritas are such a kicker. I had a mango BABY(smaller glass) margarita and it still had me feeling super friendly! I'm usually the type that can contain myself but I cut myself off after ONE drink! Def check out the drink specials and margaritas!
The restrooms are interesting too! Theres great art on the wall so make sure to check them out as well!
Came in after hitting a few golf balls on a Tuesday about 7:00 with a friend. It was hoppin already but only had to wait 5 minutes. The chips and hot sauce are great. I consider myself a hot sauce aficionado, and this sauce is one of the best I have had in a while.
I got the dos caras and the el santo. The dos caras  was pretty good though the shrimp needs to be grilled more and seasoned a bit more. The el santo was meh. The chipotle shredded chicken was disappointing.
My friend got the el campeon and pretty much made me jealous the entire meal, so thats what im getting next time.
Now our server really turned me off. I understand it gets busy but the dude had no personality and started to run a little behind when i wanted another shiner. I just like being served by people who like their job, pretty sure this guy (Champo or something like that) didnt want to be there.
I'll come back, but next time I want to come early and get a spot at the bar for the ranger game. Chips, hot sauce, beer, and a taco and you cant go wrong with a good fair price.
Food is great. Cool vibe. Loud and fun. I've been here about 6 times. The service is awful. Not bad, I mean awful. The staff is about as bad as it gets. They act mad. Slow is being kind. Where, where are the managers? Food so good and then it's all falls apart. If you have kids that need a high chair...check it out. The manager will know, and let this be a lesson to the owners and manager. You have a lawsuit coming from a child falling out of a high chair with no working latch. Parents take a look at them when you get there! I gave it so many times to improve. It didn't and let's see how long it lasts. I'd rather be home.
Review Source:Fantastic tacos and burritos with some unusual choices like orange marinated pork, squid, chorizo and beer braised brisket. Â Tuesdays you get tacos for $2 each and Thursdays you get 2 tacos and a small portion of rice and beans for $5. Â All the tacos are very full of meats and the burritos are huge. Â You won't go away hungry.
Good 1/2 burgers as well and on Friday's you get a burger and fries for $6.
The fries are excellent, onion rings are huge and tasty (although flavored a bit like tortilla chips from cooking in the same oil). Â Even their hot wings are good, though, be warned, their spicy barbeque are, to me, hotter than the "Wild" at Buffalo Wild Wings and I am a hot foods fanatic.
I will give one caveat regarding their service. Â I've been there a couple of times when I did not get the right food and anytime we go with more or 4 or 5 people the kitchen is extremely slow. Â I brought this up to the manager the last time it happened and he kind of blew me off. Â Not a good way to keep business.
Championship Rings - the best onion rings I've ever had, bar none. Â They were prepared perfectly, and the batter was amazing!! Â A must have for all ring lovers :)
The $3 Freaking Tacos were fabulous!
El Campeon - Mouth watering brisket, just the right amount of spice.
El santo - A taste explosion in this chicken taco.
Super Porky - As the name implies, plenty of pork in this one.
What a great find - would recommend this to anyone who likes a great taco!
Neither of us felt like having tacos on this visit, so we decided to try some of the sandwiches. Thuy had the "El Cubanito", which is Funky Baja's take on a Cuban. I forget what cute name my sandwich had, but it was their version of Philly cheesteak.
The El Cubanito sandwich was OK, though it was literally dripping something oily. Perhaps butter from toasting the bun? Taste was OK, but I doubt we would have it again.
My sandwich was also OK. It was not traditional in that they use cubbed beef, not thin sliced beef. Flavor was OK, but the meat was a little tough (not enough to ruin it). It was served with queso, which was pretty cool. Our server said he also likes it was salsa. I asked for some, but never got it.
Oh, we ordered one sandwich with fries, and it was more than enough for us to share. So while today's sandwich choices we OK, neither item will likely get a repeat.
PS. A basket of complimentary chips and salsa would be nice while waiting for your food.
Another reason to love this place. Their tamales! Ordered 2 dozen for Christmas Eve - 1/2 pork and 1/2 cheese. $12 dozen. I do tamales every Christmas Eve and these are the best I've had in 10 years. Better than Esperanzas last year and even better than the ones I usually buy from my coworker Lupe, who makes them herself and has for many years. They were very moist, not dry and hard like some I've had in the past. And the fillings were yummy - very flavorful and spicy. And I loved that they offered a meatless version. These were just unbelievably good. Now, if they would only put some of the yummy brisket they use for brisket tacos in a tamale. That would be heaven.
Review Source:We were looking for some place to eat and walked in here not knowing it was a bar. Didn't see the "Cantina" I guess. We were exhausted from the day and were not in the mood. The music was loud and they have lots of TVs, so it would be a good place to chill with a drink or two. We took note for the future. Anyway, we decided to go ahead and look at a menu and pick up some food to go. Our server was very sweet and took good care of us.
I am so glad we did! The food was excellent!! I had a tostada and a $3 vegetarian taco. The hubs had a brisket and a steak $3 taco. All of it was flavorful. The salsa was smokey / chipotle style. We will be back.
