The service started slowly but once the waiter found us, we were delighted with the service, atmosphere and delicious food. Unique name and very friendly staff and good food.
    We will be back.

Good fish restaurant, nice people. Had sea bass with lobster risotto which I enjoyed. Sea bass was small but overall plate was filling. For $22 i guess it was fair. I was alone so I ate at the bar. it was a tuesday night and pretty slow (off season). Bartender was a good guy.

This place is on Daniels near Fiddlesticks and is located where Bella Rosa used to be. Bella Rosa had spotty reviews and this place does, too.

I must say, we had a good experience here. It's only open for dinner, so the four of us went over on a Saturday night. They wouldn't take a reservation for four, so we got there early and it soon started to fill up. Perhaps it was because they had live music. And, yes, there were a few younger people there as well - i.e., not all oldies as is so often the case in sunny Florida!

We started with the Happy Hour Cabernet Sauvignon which was surprisingly good. For dinner we had  the Chilean Seabass. It was nicely cooked and came with risotto and either green beans of broccolini. It was a lovely meal. No room left for dessert after it, because we had pre-meal bread & a Caesar salad.

The service was fine. Overall a very pleasant meal, just falling a bit short of 5 stars.

I had a wonderful time at The Funky Fish Seafood Grill on Sunday, April 22nd 2012. We had reservations for a party of 10 and we were seated at a lovely table outside. Our server was wonderful. She made sure we all took full advantage of the Happy Hour drink specials and kept the cocktails flowing! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, explained the evening's specials in detail and made some excellent recommendations for us. I ordered the Grouper, blackened with fruit relish and rice. It was excellent! The fish was perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of spice. The sweetness of the fruit relish complimented it well. I also ordered a house salad and the broccolini. Both were excellent! Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. Most ordered fish or seafood, but one friend ordered a steak and he said it was one of the best he has ever eaten.
I only went inside the restaurant a few times to use the ladies' room so I didn't get to see most of it. What I did see looked very nice, warm, inviting and romantic. I would love to go back again and enjoy the coziness of a booth, some cocktails and oysters with my sweetie! Did I mention music? The DUSK Duo performs at the Funky Fish regularly. This is a delightful and incredibly talented husband and wife team who sing it all! Pop standards, jazz, blues, rock. Wonderful music to dance to, and hilarious husband and wife banter! Very entertaining. I can't wait to go back.

We were at FF's opening night, love it's sister restaurant (Two Meatballs...), and decided to celebrate daughter's birthday at FF last evening at around 7:15.  Told we would have 15-20 minute wait, we went to bar.  Upon receipt of drinks, we were seated!

Water and bread were provided and then nothing happened for 20 minutes, and then the waiter showed to tell us how very busy he was, how if we wanted another round of drinks "it could take four hours," and that the place is just frantic.  This even though diners were thinning rapidly.  We ordered.  We waited.  No water glass refill.  No more bread.  No explanation.  No nothing.

After 30-40 minutes, we summoned a bus boy who found our waiter.  He again went through the litany of being "so very busy" and how he would turn the TV on so we could watch basketball.  This even though there was live entertainment (as in breathing, not terribly entertaining).

We gave him $20 and left.  He undoubtedly pocketed the $20!

Two Meatballs in the Kitchen is by far your better choice and they're a few doors away.

The one star would have been zero if that option were available.

I was so eager for this new business to be my new go-to restaurant, but instead I am wondering if I'll go back. We had a table of 8 and were pleased to get a reservation, I must say. I ordered the coconut shrimp and was disappointed to see that it was overdone, especially the panko crumb breading. I am surprised they let it leave the kitchen looking that way. It happened with another person in our party as well. Folks at our table who had the fish were pleased with their entree. However, one gentleman with us ordered the cowboy steak medium rare. It came bloody, He sent it back to cook a bit more, and he reluctantly accepted it when it arrived as it still wasn't medium rare. Looked like to us that the kitchen had a difficult time having the 8 meals cooked properly at the same time. Our wait staff was attentive and apologized for the food improperly cooked. However, that really didn't make us feel any better about the experience. Granted the restaurant was only open for a couple of weeks, but the owner is experienced in the restaurant business. There needs to be quality control in the food preparation, it appears to me. Bummer.

We had a party of 8 on a weekday night and to say I was underwhelmed is a fair statement.  The atmosphere was pleasant enough and the bar area was welcoming.  At our end of a long table the food was a major problem.  Two of the guests had the coconut shrimp appetizer and both were darn near burnt.  I had the lobster in puff pastry appetizer and although the sauce was really outstanding the inside of the pastry was mushy.  The guest across from me had the baseball cut steak and asked for it medium rare.  It arrived bloody rare and had to be sent back.  It came back still very rare.  All in all not a good experience that may be caused by being a fairly new restaurant.  'nuf said.
