Taco Viva

Taco Viva is AMAZING. I used to be an FGCU student, and while I was in school, I practically lived there. Its a somewhat unassuming place visually, which I feel may turn away a lot of new diners, but really, it's what's on the inside that counts. The prices are phenomenal. Being a poor college student, my daily food stipend didnt cover too much beyond ramen. Fortunately, thanks to taco viva's prices I was able to fit some of their delicious food in fairly regularly. I was able to spend less than five dollars and leave happy. Their tacos are authentic mexican style; just a little cilantro and onions atop fantastic home made meats. i particularly enjoyed their fish tacos. For that type of money, its hard to get a good fish taco that is edible, but these were delicious! Fresh out of the fryer, drizzled with a tasty sauce. Im salivating just thinking about them. This place was my first introduction to home made horchata, which was great, and also my all time favorite mexican food, mole. I feel like the chefs here brought in their own recipes as I have yet to find anything close to this authentic in southwest Florida since. I'll cut this short as I'm making myself hungry for something thats 2000 miles away, but I would highly suggest taco viva to anyone, particularly FGCU students. Its a true gem.

Umm, NOT. The place was a tiny Dairy Queen, so nothing to offer for ambience inside and the outside seating is essentially roadside US41. My best description is that it comes frozen and whoever is in the back has very little imagination.

I have ordered carry out from this place 3 times now, and every time they "forgot" 1/3 of my order, but did not forget to charge me.  The fries were not even edible all three times.  This place is a waste of time and money.
