When I was very young we use to go to this restaurant but the name was not the same. Â While I was in Bonita today I decided to see what the place would be like after all these years. Â I was impressed at how the place had gone thru a complete remodel. Very clean and comfortable. Â Not at all like a diner. Â They have a large counter with granite counter tops, new bar stools and lots of TV's to watch what ever you desire.
The restaurant is attached to the  Day's Inn. They do have seating outback in front of the pool.  Food was very good.  Price for 2 people for diner was $18.95. We had the potato skins with bacon and cheese.  They were huge.  There were 6 pieces on the plate. We also ordered a house salad and for $2.00 I was surprised at how large this portion was.
I had the blue plate special which was roasted turkey breast with 2 sides for $7.95. Â The turkey was fresh and prepared with out gravy. Which for me is a plus. Â The waitress did ask if I would like it with or with out gravy. Â The baked potato that came with the dish was on the small side, but it was baked and not microwaved.
Although the restaurant does not look like a diner. Â I would still consider it a diner style place. Â Breakfast prices are excellent and so are the lunch and dinner prices. Â They do serve breakfast all day long. This place is definitely worth a trip or two. Â They do have a small private dining room in the back where you can have your group or family get together. Â
