Best Mexican in the area. Some interesting regional dishes including quail and rabbit. Their mole is well executed. Great value.

I guess we must have visited on a bad night? Honestly, I can't reconcile the poor quality of the meal we had and the good reviews I read here, which is why we chose this place. The food was served room temp and cooler. The taste was awful and texture was similar to that of dog food. I feel bad that this review disses a local establishment but I have to share our experience so that you won't feel totally shocked and disgusted as we were. Seriously, this was some of the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant. I hope our meal was an anomaly.  Truly I do. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. At least now you have another opinion. If anyone has a similar experience, please share. We felt duped. Wondered if the reviews may have been written by family members trying to be helpful.

This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant we've been to in FL.  Coming from Chicago, where there's authentic Mexican restaurants all over, it took a while of trial and error until we found this gem.  The first time we went there was a little sketchy to me because it was in a a mostly deserted strip mall with a run-down looking Kmart.  They have since moved a few miles north into Fort Myers.  The restaurant is family-owned and the staff is very friendly.  The menu has traditional item and more daring items like quail and cactus.  When you sit down they bring you chips and three different homemade salsas all of which are all awesome, especially if you like chili peppers.  The meat is always tender and their rice is delicious!  The guacamole is a must.
