Instead of heading to Convoy for some Korean food, visit Fuze!

FOOD: aside from your typical Korean dishes, this spot serves fusion plates like bulgulgi sliders and fries (separate orders), pork belly/kalbi beef/spicy bulguligi tacos, and quesadillas. The owners came from Min Sok Chon so they definitely have the quality down, super flavorful. They also have other items like soba noodles, wings, calamari, their take on "caprese" salad, and a bomb sashimi salad.

DRINKS: you must order SOJU, yogurt Soju to be exact. Other options are the typical Asian beers and a bar if you want to head over and watch a game or chill.

PRICE: decent but  a little over price for the service size. go on taco Tuesdays or happy hour!

AMBIANCE: decently sized so you can have a large party and not worry about waiting. There are TVs if you want to watch a sports game during dinner and a bar. Overall chill, modern place.

SERVICE: the staff and owners are cool. you can press a button for tentative service.

PARKING: there's a big lot but dont miss the drive way coming in otherwise you'll have to make a U-turn to get back around to this side of Mira Mesa Blvd.

The Honest Truth: Korean and Korean-Fusion food. Bulgogi fries are decent and the Galbi tacos were decent as well.  Guacamole and salsa is okay but doesn't add too much to the dishes.  But the spicy japanese mayo makes everything taste better! Good place to hang out with friends.

    The Details:
I came here for lunch and there was nobody else in the restaurant at 12 on a monday.  It was really hot inside (maybe they were saving energy since nobody was in the restaurant?).  The bulgogi fries consisted of fries, cheese and japanese mayo.  The combination made it pretty heavy and too much after getting half way through it.  The salsa had an interesting flavor to it and the guacamole tasted like a creamy avocado mixture.  The Galbi tacos were pretty good, but the tortilla fell apart pretty easily.  It was a little more balanced with cabbage and more japanese mayo. Overall, I would probably come here again because its a good place to hangout with friends.  The food wasn't too amazingly fusiony though.

This restaurant is so unique.  I get an urge to come here about once a week.  The offerings are bizarre, but good.  Prices are fair.  And the Korean rap music is hilarious.

The Party Favorites cocktail menu looks like a mad chemistry experiment.  The Tombstone is guaranteed to get you wasted, and it actually tastes better than it sounds.  It's actually like drinking a flat foreign cola.  The girly drinks aren't bad either.  Oh yeah... they have makoli (Korean unfiltered wine).  I've never seen makoli offered in San Diego.  This is a rarity.

You can get traditional Korean food here, but why would you?  The fusion menu is fantastic.  The bulgogi nachos are a decent spin on the traditional Mexican dish.  The bulgogi burrito is one of the best I've had on the West Coast.  It does not have rice, but it has a lot of French fries inside, which gives it a unique texture.  I think it could use more go-choo jang (spicy pepper paste), but you can always ask for some on the side.  The spicy pork burrito is a bit too plain and dry for my taste.  The bulgogi burrito has a lot more ingredients and flavors.

The seafood pa-jon (potato pancake) was very different here.  It is more fluffy and spicy than I've seen it elsewhere.  But it was surprisingly tasty.  And a good value.  The mushroom salad is also a wonderfully refreshing appetizer or a whole entrée for those eating skinny.

I was surprised to see duk-bok-ki (Korean gnocchi) in a ja-ja-myun sauce (Chinese onion mushroom sauce).  What a brilliant idea!  Unfortunately, the ja-ja-myun sauce tasted like it was made by adding water to a powder pack.  It lacked that fresh onion and mushroom flavor, and seemed too heavy caked with corn starch.  This could be a fantastic dish if the sauce were better quality.

Rumor is this place is more of a light night pub for drinking and an after-hours bar to get even more drunked.  But I'm happy to say it's a legitimate fusion restaurant too.

Fuze is definitely my go-to spot for Korean drinks and drinking snacks/food in San Diego~

    important stuff:
    - happy hour is Mon-Fri from 5pm-8pm (this includes 50% off all drinks); which is a really great deal; I always order soju cocktails and rice wine and those were always $5
    - they have daily specials (some at the top of my head: tuesday=taco tuesday, wednesday= wing wednesdays, etcetc)
    - they have flavored rice wine (main reason why i loved this place)
    - great service and friendly waiters/waitresses :)
    - good for small and large groups

I always take my littles here for catch up dates (my girls and i love our soju and rice wine ;) haha but really, the reason why i wanted to try Fuze in the first place was because they offered flavored rice wine (makgeolli). The only other place i've had flavored rice wine was in korea, so this place definitely got a few points with me from the start.

but anyways, i'll just list the things i've tried since in the past times i've visited:

if you don't want to read descriptions; here's a short version:
    - DON'T get the bulgogi fries
    - DO get the flavored sojus and rice wins!
    - DO get the tacos!
    - DO get the lemon samgyupsal (or any other stir-fry meats)

for those interested in the deets; here's the longer version:

    - yogurt, pineapple, and peach soju: all were super yummy :)
    - bulgogi fries: contrary to what everyone says.... DON'T order these... unless i dunno you really really love super unhealthy food. but really.. these were super oily, (i love my share of greasy oily foods but even this I couldnt handle) the fries were soaked in oil - oil from the french fries themselves, oil from the bulgogi meat, and oil from the cheese they put on top. this just didn't work for me. (on a side note - if anyone who works at Fuze is reading this, you guys should totally switch out that hot sauce you give with the fries and use sriracha instead .. lol i think that'd be bomb)
    - kimchi pancake: this was just whatevs; i guess you can't really go wrong with kimchi pancake
    - lemon samgyupsal (pork belly): this was... deliciousssss. especially if you love samgyupsal like i do... lols but yeah this dish was really good; comes with side dishes and can definitely be shared with two people
    - bulgogi and kalbi tacos: ordered these on a tuesday since they're only $1.75! and these were really yummy! fresh ingredients, yummy sauces, good meat, and super filling.

all in all; i love Fuze and i'd definitely recommend this place to those looking for a chill spot with good food, great drinks, and awesome service :)

It's somewhat hard to find a Korean restaurant in Mira Mesa so I was glad to have one relatively close. It's located in a pretty small business park off of Mira Mesa blvd but it was pretty empty when I went.

It's a pretty small restaurant itself and dark inside. I ordered the spicy soup noodles with spam, sausage, kimchi, and other vegetables. It came with rice and the side dishes. I actually thought the food was really delicious. It was served in a stone pot so the soup and noodles stayed hot the whole time and it was actually  a decent spicy level. They were really polite and the service was great!

I guess the low points of here is that the prices are bit a pricy. Also, it did take them at least 20 minutes to come out with the food. Other than that, I enjoyed the food and experience here.

PS. Make sure to walk out the door on the very right side. I accidentally walked out a door and it turned out to be the outside patio door. :p

I love this place! The food is always great, and I love the atmosphere. Very cool and casual. Aimed more for the younger crowd maybe, like 35 and under, but thats just my opinion. Its a bar in the back, but the front end has booths and I don't feel uncomfortable at all (Im a female under drinking age). The staff is very friendly! They check up on you and make conversation with you. Their waitress Thao is awesome! I ordered their nachos yesterday and they were very filling, good to share between 2 people. Usually not crowded and they bring food out pretty quickly, so if you ever wanted to go somewhere nice and friendly last minute, I would highly recommend this place! What I love the most is that they don't just throw the food on a plate, they make an effort to make it look good too.

I came here during happy hour with some coworkers about a month ago. I really like the Soju. I forgot which flavors I had but they were pretty tasty, and the food was pretty good too. I had a great time, the service was good. Friendly waiter, we didn't seem to wait very long for service. Over all, it was a good night.... However, the only complaint I have about my experience here, the restroom. I will not go into details, but guys you have to clean your restrooms. I know, I know it's a nasty job. I hate cleaning my restroom too, but it has to be done. After walking into Fuze's I could tell that that is the room that gets the least attention. Until that changes, I'll rate FUZE 4 stars. I'll be back there soon, hopefully I can add that extra star.

Tried all of my friend's food and it was all delicious. The service was mediocre but it was really cool that they had buttons on the table to call the waiter. A few complaints though, my friends and I all went at night and the restaurant was way too dark for my liking and also I had asked for an extra side of sour cream and they failed to mention I would be charged for it. Other than that, I had fun and we will be coming back.

My friends and I are big fans of Korean food and when we found out that there was a korean place closer to where we lived, we decided to try it out. Compared to when I first came here, they've redone to place so that there's more seating for a smaller parties and it's really nice. Lots of big groups come here too.

When it comes to food my friends and I always get an order of the Bulgogi Fries. Probably my favorite thing on there. I also enjoy their kimchi fried rice, ddukbokki, philly bulgogi cheesesteak and pork quesadilla. It's a great mixture of Korean and American foods. I'm also kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy food, so the level of spice they have here are great for me, but if you can handle Korean-level spicy, just ask for it and they'll give it to you.

The prices are really decent for the amount of food you get. I never leave the place hungry. Drinks are also really good at good prices. I recently tried their paralyzer and wow it was strong, a good kind of strong.

I also like that they have the typical Korean call system. If you've never been to a Korean restaurant, there are buttons on the ends of tables, you press them to alert staff that you need them. So on really busy nights or on really empty nights, these are really helpful. The staff here are really friendly so don't be afraid to ask them questions. And they're really good at splitting the check.

Great soju with many different flavors. Bartenders are great. I haven't found food there I like, though. I wouldn't go back for dinner.

We dined here awhile back and the environment is definitely fun and loud. Our waitress seemed very busy the entire time but the tables have these buzzers where you can buzz for service. It was overall a good time but if we hadn't of had the buzzer I don't think we would've had any service. The food was delicious and unique.

Mira Mesa needs more places like Fuze. Great concept on a restaurant. Korean with an American/Mexican twist. The ambiance is trendy, drinks are good, happy hour even better, and I've only experienced excellent service.

The Korean curry was pretty good, but their bulgogi is delicious. I'm sure any bulgogi dish would be good, but their bulgogi Philly Cheesesteak is orgasmic! Good enough to even make this vegetarian cheat. One of my favorite places in Mira Mesa!

Came back here for late night eats the other night.  I was pleasantly surprised.  They have added booths to break up the monotony of the room, so it does feel a lot more cozier; plus it was more packed than I've seen it before.  Here are the updates:

    FOOD:
Bulgogi Fries - So bomb.  Better than carne asada in my opinion.  You can also get chips instead of fries too.
Tacos - I tried the spicy bulgogi and pork belly.  Surprisingly very good!  I would probably suggest they add some spicy mayo though.
Grilled Chicken Salad - I actually took this to go for lunch the next day.  It was soooo good.  The dressing is like a basalmic vinagrette with some kind of sweet onion on the side.  I would definitely order all this again.

    SERVICE -
Significantly different from my first visit.  Even my friend I was with, another fellow Yelp Elite, agreed with this.  They were very efficient, quick and polite.  Seems that they've really stepped up their game in regards to customer service.

Like I said, I am happy with these improvements they have tried to implement.

*** Just a note though....I think since summer is coming, heat lamps outside or lanterns would really help to create some nice ambiance to hang out in .  So FUZE...if you're reading this...maybe you guys should think about it ;)***

I've seen the pictures on Instagram from numerous of my friends, so I thought I should try this place out myself--girls night out! Walking in, we was greeted and immediately seated. The waiters and waitresses were extremely polite, asking every couple minutes if we needed help and were fine. Maybe it was because it was slightly empty on a Friday afternoon. Nonetheless, I was satisfied with their excellent service. Plus Fuze is super clean! And it has a cutesy environment... definitely attracts the teens.

We got the Bulgolgi Fries and the Kimchi Pork Quesadillas! *u* yum! Just from the Bulgolgi Fries alone, this girlie and I were full. We barely finished 3/4 of it! It was a huge plate... it was delicious and different. You can kind of compare it to Carne Asada fries in a way. The meat, cheese, toppings, and the plain fries underneath all of that. On the other hand, the Kimchi Pork Quesadillas... I love Kimchi! Both of the dishes reached my expectations but did not surpass what I was anticipating.

Still, I'd definitely come back. The food is unique and original (in my opinion)... like, I've never heard of Korean tacos or burritos! So if you're interested in an Asian cuisine with a variety of cultural mixes like we were, Fuze is the place to go :O

The first time I came here was when it was fairly new. The service was HORRIBLE. We sat there waiting and waiting and waiting.. it took so long to get any kind of service that we finally decided to just leave. That's how bad it was.

My boyfriend refused to come back but I was able to try it with a coworker during lunch. There were probably 2 other tables in the whole restaurant and the service was still lacking. Pretty slow and we were in a rush to get out. We asked for to-go boxes and the check and he only came back with the boxes. What the hell...

Needless to say food was okay. Service is below average. Probably won't come back.

My first time coming was in the afternoon for a late lunch so there was barely any people there. It still felt very new and empty. Our server greeted us and told us the menus were on the table. As soon as we were ready, he takes our order with his phone. That was a little weird.

I ordered the Fish Katsu lunch special and my friend got a Bulgogi Philly Cheese Steak. My food was good but my friend got the Cheese Steak and he loved it.

I also went there a second time with a bigger group and we went for dinner, still felt kind of empty. Ordered a good amount of food. This time I tried the Kalbi Tacos. Better than what I got last time.

Both experiences, I felt they were ok. Maybe trying to go during happy hour or Taco Tuesday might liven the place up more.

This place is cool. Small, chill, and clean. I hate to say it but it does have its advantages and disadvantages compared to Min Sok. I like that it was SUUUUPER CLEAN  this includes their bathroom, tables, chairs, and restaurant floors. At Min Sok the bathrooms are dirty and the floors are sticky. They don't have karoke rooms, which was fine. Overall, I like the place and will definitely come back. We even got a bottle of soju on the house!!! Awesome!!! I only gave it 4 stars because the website said they were open from 11am-10pm. I told my co-workers to meet up for happy hour at 4, and the sign outside said they open at 5pm - business hour fail.

I drive by this place everyday and never went to it until last month.

The soju is expensive, i was drunk and didn't realize i spent like 50 bucks on Soju and wings. haha

The Wings are good. On tuesday their like 5 bucks for like 8 pieces so it's nice to drop in and have some cheap wings on a tuesday.

I'm sure I'll be back to try everything else but for now 3 stars!

I finally don't have to drive down to Convoy to grab some soju.

This place is tucked in the back corner, where Mr. Wasabi used to be. Its very easy to miss so I think the location is this place's weakness. WIth that said I do think Fuze is an all around good place. They have happy hour starting at 5 on weekdays and my coworkers and I have stopped by for some drinks before. They have all different flavors of soju as well as a full bar, beers on tap, as well as other Korean alcohol. Prices for drinks are pretty much the same as the other places on Convoy.

I think this place is the same owner or friends with the owner of Min Sok Chon since some of the workers look familiar from MSC. The food is Korea fusion. They have regular standard Korean fare from Soondubu and ddokboki to korea fusion tacos, quesedillas, salads etc. The tabos are pretty good and fat here. Bulgogi tacos are what I usually get and they come in 3's. Meat is well marinated but the tortillas can be a bit dry. The kimchi quesadilla were decent as well but nothing to the level of delicious of the Kogi truck. Bulgogi fries are a must if you like carne asada fries. The chicken wings here are pretty good and crispy. They have various sauces that you can choose from. I usually get their fried crispy tofu appetizer. Very crispy yet the tofu is silky smooth. Recommended if you are a tofu fan! My coworkers really dig the salmon sashimi here, they all say its very very good.

One thing I would recommend not getting would be the salads. I have really heard good things about them from my friends and co-workers who do order salads here. My sister got a salad that had some bleu cheese in it and she said the cheese tasted really rancid and moldy, even though bleu cheese is moldy. My coworkers and I all tried and and in deed it didn't taste like regular cheese but it had a weird sharp taste to it like it went bad. The cheese looked fuzzy as well. We told the waiter and he quickly apologized and remade her salad minus the cheese for free.

Service here is pretty good. Always got checked up on and each table has a little ringer to call the server. Overall a nice chill place to kick it with some friends. Now that Mira Mesa has our own soju place we don't have to drive down to Kearny Mesa anymore.

Great place to go for some soju and Korean food! Best time to go would be tuesdays and wednesdays when they have their taco tuesday specials and the wing wednesdays special. Their spicy pork taco is my favorite. And they have delicious wings! It's conveniently located in Mira Mesa so saves us the drive of going farther to go to Kearny Mesa area. Overall, great place to go for some soju and beer with some delicious tacos!

My friend and I came here for happy hour. The water was fine. The waiter was nice enough. And then the bulgogi fries came out and everything went downhill from there.

My friend starts chowing down and offers me some. I ALMOST put a chunk of fries and meat and cheese into my mouth when the stench hits me and makes my nose-hairs stand on end.

Here's the convo between me and my friend -

Me: J, this shit's gone bad.
    J: Really? I can't smell anything.
Me: *Sniffs again* UGH IT'S NOT GUCCI. Stop eating them!
    J: Oh, ok.

I call the waiter over to tell him that the dish is spoiled. He runs into the kitchen to notify the cook,  only to come back out and tell me, "The cook says they are fine."

Uh, are you joking? The waiter wasn't rude at all but I just thought it was audacious and frankly, rude of the kitchen staff to tell us that we were imagining the hella disgusting, moldy smell emanating from the fries and that we should continue consuming them.

Anyway, I ask the waiter to take the fries off of our bill and he kindly does so. We eat the tacos we ordered alongside the bulgogi fries and skedaddle.

The next day, J messages me, saying "Thank goodness. You saved me. I diarrhea'd a little last night."

Bam! Listen to my nose. It will never do you dirty.

In conclusion, I'm not telling you not to eat at Fuze. I'm sure they have their good days. But beware. They might serve you rotten food. And when you tell them it's rotten, they might deny it. NOT COOL. And I'll probably never come back because of it.

My first thoughts when I first walked in: Is this place new?

A couple of friends and I came in on a Monday night for a birthday dinner, so it wasn't crowded at all. The inside seemed a little bare, with tables spread out all around what seemed to be a barren room. However, their bar looked pretty cool, with the various lights transitioning among the numerous bottles of alcohol.

    Okay, on to the food.

Fried calamari ($7.95): Every single piece of calamari was evenly fried, and along with the horse-radish ranch and soy sauce to dip from, it was a pretty enjoyable dish to start things off.

Dduk Bok Gi (Rice cakes) ($8.95): Unlike the ones I had at Min Sok Chon, everything in this dish was evenly cooked, including the vegetables! The sauce had a spicier tinge to it as well. For $2 more, you could also get bulgogi as well, but I was okay with just vegetables.

Kalbi tacos (3 for $7.95): Holy crap, these suckers were big! But they tasted alright to me. The only thing to really judge in this one was the kalbi, and it was cooked really well. This is probably worth more ordering on Taco Tuesdays than the shrimp tacos at World's Famous!

Bulgogi philly cheese steak (2 for $10.95): In my previous experiences with philly cheese steaks, although they're pretty good overall, they're a little more on the heavy side, so I'm usually not inclined to order them a lot. That wasn't the case at Fuze. Again, the bulgogi meat was cooked really well, and with the buttery-flavored suace infused, it's quite a delight to eat.

    Would I come back here?

    Yes, for Taco Tuesday. ;)

Always a great time at Fuze. I gotta love their unique blend of asian fusion dishes. Do you like carne asade fries? (OF COURSE YOU DO! It was a rhetorical question). Well, FUZE serves BULGOGI (korean style marianted rib eye) fries which are definitely worth it.

I usually got on Tuesdays when they have the korean style tacos from spicy bulgogi tacos, short rib tacos, bulgogi tacos, pork belly tacos etc and they are all amazing. I usually get one of each!

Wednesday they have awesome wing specials. 8 meaty wings for $5. And these wings ARE MEATY unlike wings you might get from, wing street (pizza hut's wings) etc. I'm personally not a big fan of their dirty bird but I love their wings (soy sauce, BBQ, korean style, buffalo etc)

Definitely check out their menu if you haven't been here before and you'll definitely will wish you had!

I went to Fuze twice in the past week and have mixed feelings  about the place. I believe Fuze has taken over what use to be Mr. Wasabi in Mira Mesa.

On a Friday night, the place was dimly lit, music, and full of rowdy customer. They accommodated a last minute reservation for 10, with only a 30 minute heads up. At the time the drinks were a good deal (we later find out that the waitress was being nice and gave us bigger carafes of yogurt soju). The food is good, Korean tacos and sliders were good, bulgogi fries were not as good as they sound. On the Plus side, Hennesy was only $4 that night

We also went again on a Taco Tuesday around 5 and the atmosphere was very different. It felt like someone had opened a restaurant or café in a garage.  The food was the same, tacos were $1.75.

All in all, the place has good food, good drinks, very attentive staff. But they need to do something with the décor and the bathroom graffitti.

Awkward location. Just okay korean food. Small flavored yogurt+soju selection so I will give you the three stars. Hard to get the word out as the location is really a killer here, and not in a good way. A bigger sign, more lights and sounds maybe? At least  you guys are *trying* to make Mira Mesa cool.

    yay for soju!

What the hell happened to Mr. Wasabi?

Came here on a Monday night and it was pretty dead. Maybe 4 other tables were being used but the majority of the restaurant was empty. There was one guy working the entire place (greeting, seating, serving, bar tending) at one point I had asked my boyfriend if he was also cooking the food haha. But overall, it didn't change the quality of the service and or food.

We ordered the bulgogi tacos, spicy chicken wings, and the fried rice. For drinks we had the mango soju to share between 2 people. Overall, I thought that the bulgogi tacos were just ok (not to brag, but I think I could have made em better ;) haha) The chicken wings were pretty good (they're like wings on steroids because they were pretty big wings compared to the wings you get at hooters). And the fried rice was good too. I'd like to come back and maybe try other things on the menu. But I don't think I would crave to go here. I'd rather go pick up some Korean food at Zion market or H Mart.

All I see from this place is my friends posting their pictures of bulgogi fries on their FB. I love bulgogi and I love fries so i decided to try this place out. Funny enough, I didnt get their bulgogi fries. And it wasn't on the menu. Apparently its like a secret menu  item or something.

I got the bulgolgi tacos and #9 - kimchi soup I think with a variety of meats.

Bulgolgi tacos - it was pretty tasty. You get 3 decent size tacos with a good amount of bulgolgi in each. The bulgolgi was a little sweeter than I like, but really flavorable. They had some other random sauces on top which I don't think was really necessary since the bulgolgi had so much flavor.

The kimchi soup - big dissapointment. The noodles looked like 10 cent ramen from walmart. The spam was in huge chunks and it looked like they just took it out of the can and chopped it up just a couple of times. The tuna was canned and sunk to the bottom so we forgot that it was there until we hit the bottom of the meal. The only normal thing was the sausage. There was nothing special about this meal and it looked like a bunch of leftovers thrown into a soup base which was okay. Flavorful, but no exciting or different taste to it. It did come with 3 side dishes and they were horrible.

Overall, this place was mediocre. Everything was flavorful, but not really the right flavors. Maybe it's the fusion part I don't like. I might come back to try something else since I've heard of better things to order, but eh.. we'll see.

On a rare day off I was looking to try something new and had heard about Fuze and was anxious to check em out.

I popped in and was the only customer at 1130 on a Thursday afternoon. I was greeted at the door, escorted to the seat of my choice, offered a menu, and water. I had the Spicy Pork Sliders with fries. I was very happy with the meal. The Pork Sliders were tender and flavorful, the Fries were handcut, crispy, hot and tasty. Served with Wasabi Ranch & ketchup.

The decor is sparse and when there is no one in there it feels "cold" maybe the evenings are more happening. By the time I left three more people had come in for lunch.

I can tell you this If you are looking for something good and different and don't want to wait in line for one of the "fast food" joint to feed you this is an excellent alternative!

    Sláinte!

I was pretty bummed to find out that Mr. Wasabi closed down, but I'm very happy that Fuze opened up!

I've been hearing about for quite some time, and I was with some friends last night to celebrate a friends birthday, I asked what he felt like having for dinner and he said "whatever" so I suggested we check out this place. Upon parking, our first thoughts looking in from the lot was that it was a nightclub. I really don't know why it's set up like this, but it did not bother me nor my friends.

We were seated immediately and given a carafe of water. The menu is of your normal Korean restaurant fare (bulgogi, Korean pancakes etc) "inFUZEd" with other types of food (bulgogi Philly cheesesteaks for example).

Our party of 6 ordered the following:
    - 1 order of calamari (yum)
    - 1 order of spicy vegetable noodles (yum)
    - 2 orders of shrimp and vegetable fried rice (yum)
    - 3 (2 spicy and 1 soy sauce flavored) orders of chicken wings (OH MY GOD YUM)
    - 2 large flavored soju

I'm not kidding when I say this, but the consensus of our table was that the food was" HELLA" good, so you KNOW it's that good. I have a feeling we could have ordered more of the wings. They weren't drenched in sauce and they were huge and crispy.. damn, I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it!

Our server, Andrew was really cool and did not try to up-sell us. He even broke down the daily specials that Fuze has:

    Monday: I forgot
Tuesday: Taco Tuesday (KBBQ tacos and the like for $1.75 each)
Wednesday: Wing Wednesday (YOU KNOW I'LL BE THERE!)
Thursday: College night (...I'm straight on that)
Friday: Whiskey Friday (Crown, Jameson and Hennessy for $4... after hearing that we decided to call it F*CKED UP FRIDAY hahaha)

If you can't tell already, I'm a fan and I'll definitely be back. My friends also feel the same about Fuze as well. We were all pretty surprised about the 3 1/2 star rating, so we're trying to bump up the rating here on Yelp. Of course, I will update my review if I need to, but so far, so good!

Went here because it was one of the few places open late in the area. Fell in love with it! The vibe was very chill and the server was really nice and attentive.

    We ordered:
    - Bulgogi sliders: 5 stars
    - Seafood pasta: 4.5 stars
    - Udon: 4 stars
    -Calamari- 5 stars

I definitely will be back when I'm in San Diego again...which is all the time. [:

I don't think everything here is AMAZING but the service is good (call buttons are awesome) and they have a lot of beers and the food is decent.

I think the fusion tacos are good... I always made these at home with leftover KBBQ so it's cool to eat it at restaurants too. The dduk bokki was alright... My friends thought the bulgogi sliders were good so that's cool. The french fries had dill on it and had a good crisp to it. The chips are free and also have dill on it... that's good too.

The parking lot sucks. Only one car can come in or out and that's super hectic with a big street like Mira Mesa Blvd.

I've been here couple of times due to the place being about 2 mins away from my house.  Korean food they serve here is far from being authentic but I liked the ambiance and Kpop they were playing in the background. So far I've only tried their appetizers to go with few drinks and I would def recommend their wings.  Nothing special but good snack to wash down with beer or soju.  They don't sell any Korean beer, such as Hite, but you can get a Sapporo as a substitute.  Place was really dead despite being a Friday night but, if you are looking for a place to lounge on Mira Mesa blvd, it's a good hangout place.

UPDATE:  They sell Hite. +1 Star.  Oh, try their slider.  Most fabulous.

    Pros:

    1) They have buttons at the table to call your waiter/waitress.
    2) Full Bar
    3) NFL Network

    Cons:

    1) Place is kind of hard to get to. The parking lot is awkward.
    2) Menu is pretty limited.

I'm a fan of the Fusion style dishes and you have to try the Bugolgi Fries... so good!

I'm rounding down from 2 1/2 stars. I just can't seem to like this place. First of all, the service is shotty. Actually, I don't remember the service ever being exceptional. The food is overpriced in my opinion. Although it is one of the few Korean/Korean-fusion places in Mira Mesa,  I would still drive down to Clairemont if I wanted a decent Korean restaurant. This place just doesn't really cut it.

The best time to go would be on Taco Tuesdays and happy hour.  The tacos are fairly cheaper than they normally would be. Spicy Pork tacos are probably my favorite off the menu. The bulgogi is a little too sweet for my liking. I've tried the bulgogi nachos and they were ok. I don't think they should add rosemary (I think its rosemary) to their chips. It doesn't make the dish taste any better.

I've also come in for lunch and got the rice bowl with bulgogi. It took forever to come out which I don't understand because there were only two of us customers in the restaurant. Then, the entree itself was pretty tasteless. It is served in a piping hot stone bowl which only crisped the rice and made it hard to eat. I also heard a server tell a party of 6 that it'd take up to 30 mins for them to be seated--in an empty restaurant! He said it'd take him that long to clean up a table from a previous party that he didn't get to.

I don't get the appeal of this place. I hear the drinks are good? Then again, shouldn't it be recognized for its food?

**Forgot to mention, they have buttons at the tables for waiter service but I don't think they work. Never worked when we used them. Parking entrance is tiny and parking spots are tight. Be careful!

Fuze features a great fusion of american and korean style cuisine. You can get authentic Korean food such as jap chae, dduk bok ki, and korean bbq. Or you can enjoy the more American fusion choices such as bulgogi fries, korean bbq tacos, and sliders. They also have a range of liquor from beers on tap to flavored soju.

Unfortunately the location is a bit hard to find and in an awkward location. A couple of times I almost missed it even though I knew where it was generally and was looking for it. The place also seems most lively during later evening hours and happy hour, which is the best time to go in order to take advantage of cheap prices on soju and beer and also the extra hidden menu items.

They also have "taco tuesdays" at Fuze. However, I learned the hard way that the taco tuesday prices for the kbbq tacos only apply during happy hour from 5-8pm. Another bummer. Maybe if they don't limit some of their specials and menu items to happy hour only, they might fair better.

On top of all that, even though the food is great, the service is very awkward! I mean from the second you walk in, they greet you like they're stoned or something. I've been to this place quite a few times already and the service experience never got better. In fact it got worst! My friend called in an order of bulgogi bowls to go. When we got there to pick it up, they had messed up and charged us for bulgogi plates (double the price!). It was technically the same food but we wanted the lunch portion. Not only did they refuse to fix it, the guy blatantly told us "I am pretty sure I got the order right and you messed up". So much for customer service.

On another occasion, I had taken a non-Asian friend to Fuze to check out the food. He liked it so much he wanted to return with his wife. When he went back, he was asked numerous amounts of times upon entering, "Are you sure you want to eat here? You're not looking for sushi?". It's like dude, just cuz your customer ain't Asian doesn't mean they don't want to eat korean food. Good job for insulting your customer.

Had initially given them a higher rating for their food, but they need to seriously fix their service!

    Dude... this place need ambiance...

Honestly it felt like a cafeteria and the patio made it look like they were out of business.

the food is good and interesting enough, but if they want to survive, they need to make the place more inviting.  They need more items to show they are a Korean Fusion place and something in the middle to break up the monotony in the center of the room... make the back room kind of special somehow... maybe couches?

In any case, I know the food was fine, but I can hardly remember it due to the way the surroundings impacted me.

I think they need to remodel and revamp and then have another Grand opening.

I came here because a lot of friends raved about it.  We ordered the bulgogi fries because thats what they preached about.  I can't say I agree with them.  It wasn't anything to write home about.  It wasn't great nor good even.  Perhaps we got a bad batch?

    I did enjoy the tacos.

The thing that made gave us the "icky" feeling is that we saw flies or gnats flying in the middle of the restaurant.  The husband had a bad feeling when he saw them, I chose to ignore it based on reviews.  We should have walked out immediately.

Will I come here again?  No.

Came on a Wednesday just a bit after 5. It was pretty empty, only 2 other tables and a lot of empty space. We were seated in a booth, pretty far from the bar so I didn't get to look at their shelves.

So.. Wednesday is Wings Wednesday! I had no idea, I only came with the intention of getting bulgogi fries and kalbi tacos (from Yelp reviews). But since their wings were $5 for 8, I thought "What the heck?" Go big or go home, right? I went big. They only had 3 sauces--soy sauce, buffalo, and spicy. We weren't sure which one to get, so I asked him if we can get different sauces, but our server refused. Oh well. We went with buffalo; I thought it was ok. Nothing too special. If I came again, even on a Wednesday, I'd skip it.

Now... bulgogi fries. Ain't on the menu, but the best thing in the kitchen. Oh man! Yummy! Fries smothered in bulgogi and cheese. When it first came out, I was still a little skeptical. I wasn't sure how the bulgogi and cheese would taste, especially since they put a lot, a lot of cheese. But it was amazing, I loved it. The girls easily agreed it would be pregnancy craving food.

I also got kalbi tacos. The kalbi was super good--flavorful and tender. It was actually thick pieces of short rub. A little bit of sauce, which is good, didn't overpower the meat. My friend got pork belly tacos and those came double wrapped, which is a good idea because mine weren't double wrapped and the tortilla kept breaking. But then again, an extra tortilla is like an extra 100+ calories, so maybe I'll stick with the tortilla breaking and suck it up. =P The pork belly was ok, but I enjoyed my kalbi a lot more.

Another friend got their chicken salad. Skip it. It was horrible. It's kinda hit or miss, but I really enjoyed the bulgogi fries and kalbi tacos.. so 4 stars!

From other reviews, it looks like they have taco tuesdays... I'll have to come back on a Tuesday then!
