San Diego Cellars

Went up for a wine tasting and loved it!  Not only did I get to try some delicious wines, it was fun! I think buying a yearly membership would make a great gift for a wine lover. Can't wait to open my bottle up, just can't decide when to do it...

I have been here several times now for wine tastings.  There is a special deal for members of the wine club...ask for the information, I've been a guest of a member.  
The wine club sounds like a really great deal and you'll feel great about supporting these two local wine makers.  The owners are really friendly and always tell great stories and information about the wine.
I love wine and enjoy tasting very much.  They have all the colors of the rainbow.  BDX is my fave!

I found this place while yelping one day and decided to check it out since I'm always searching for local talent (especially talent that has a five-star average).  I couldn't be more pleased.

The tasting room is located in one of those warehouse-type deals you'd normally find a local brewery stashed in, but it wasn't difficult to find since the buildings are all clearly marked.  Don't worry about losing satellite reception for your GPS either.  We pulled up hesitantly since the hours for the tasting room aren't posted on the website or the Yelp page, but the party was still going so in we went.  The tasting room is rather small- keep that in mind when planning a visit.

The wine-maker Matthew did most of our pours for us which was really nice since he could explain each of their characteristics in turn.  I really enjoyed the fact that they had a wide selection of wines in both red and white.  I loved the cab franc- I think it was beautifully done and I learned more about the varietal itself while I was enjoying the tasting.  Honestly all the reds were very well done especially when you take into account that the winery is brand-spanking new.  I'm more partial to reds but I will say that he did have a wonderfully balanced reserve Chardonnay that was pretty easy on the pocketbook.

You can't deny that there's some true talent emerging.  Honestly if we hadn't just gotten charged for one of our wine clubs and done a vertical tasting dinner we would've walked away with way more than one bottle.  Either way it's payday this weekend and we're def geared to return.

This place has tasty wine and two affable young gentlemen that'll keep you coming back for second and thirds and fourths after your first visit.
