This bar reminds me of the likes of Coyote Ugly.. the movie (not the awesome bar in Vegas ha!).. The bar is unkempt, patrons are grungy and unsavory (esp the nasty beer bellied out drunks who are a little too touchy with the servers) and most all the servers/bartenders are relatively good looking girls, (i think i only saw 2 guys total, one cook and one manager maybe?).. typically not my kind of scene lol so why the 4 stars? THE ENTERTAINMENT!! i went here last weekend and several months ago to watch the AWA (American Wrestler's Alliance) rofl!! YEAH!! PRO-WRESTLING!! like wwe but small scale lol! random!! but it's pretty cool actually, they rent a ring and put on a fantastic show with professional wrestlers including luchadoras!! the wrestlers come out all geared up and in character, mess around with the crowd a little bit, giving high fives if they're a face (good guy) or will banter you a bit if they're a heel (bad guy).. the wrestlers are very agile, acrobatic and have biiigggg personalities!! and the announcers are HILLLARIOUS! hahaha the bar charges $10 for cover, so if you have nothing else to do it can be a pretty entertaining end to your evening..
the drinks are cheap! they don't have a huge selection of beer but it's decent? at least they had the coronado brewing co coffee stout on tap which was only $5.. SUPER CHEAP!! lol we also got fireball shots for $5 too.. not bad at all!! i've had some of their diner style appetizers before and i liked it? better than denny's.. if i was in the mood for diner food and i was here, i wouldn't mind eating here again again..
So in short, I give this place 4 stars for the venue aspect, since they put on a pretty good show.. i mean how many sports bars show live wrestling?! Angel, the girl who was helping us was really sweet.. but again the bar is unkempt.. the carpet is all nasty looking, the chairs and tables are sticky.. the location is in a back corner of a strip mall and you have to park a bit aways like in front of Vons bc there's not so much parking for the bar.. but next time the AWA is here, I'll be very excited to come back!
