I've been taking flamenco lessons from Scot for over a year now and have to say his knowledge and skill with a guitar is unparalleled. As a coach he has helped guide me towards a greater understanding of music in general as well as getting me able to play some of my favorite classical and flamenco jams.
The studio has 3 small individual rooms for the different instructors and their students to use, there is also a stage in the middle where they hold guitar gatherings for students to perform.
Overall Paper Moon is a great community of support to help people enrich their lives through the understanding and practice of guitar music. I plan on continuing my education here as it really helps me with all other aspects of life that require my brain to function.
Cheers!
Review from the Parent's perspective:
I have not had a lesson at Paper Moon Music, but my son has had two banjo lessons with Joe Amato. I stuck around for the first lesson, much to my 12 year old son's horror, and felt Joe to be a great instructor for Nick. Nick has never had a musical lesson, and Joe was very patient, positive and encouraging. You really can't say no to giving Paper Moon Music a shot, they only charge 15 dollars for an introductory lesson. In that lesson, which I thought was so cool, Joe tried to connect with Nick. He asked why he wanted to play the banjo, what type of music he liked to listen too. I was so impressed when Nick came home so enthusiastic and showed me he could strum along to "Tell it to Me" by Old Crow Medicine Show. Â
They discount the lessons if you buy a 4-pack, which is also a good savings. Â I find 25 dollars a half hour inexpensive.
Great Place! Give it a go.
I have been taking lessons at Papermoon since Dec. 2010. I recommend Papermoon to anyone from amateur to experience guitar players. The atmosphere is very professional, inviting and clean studio. Instructors have years of experience and work the within your available schedule and cost is affordable..
