Great local craft beer spot! If I lived in South Park I know I'd be here all the time. We were in SD for three days and went here twice- that good! The beer selection is great although very IPA-dominant, which seems to be the general trend in San Diego.
The food is incredible! We loved the pub nachos, because the cheese sauce was so good and the fries have this almost Thai seasoning that make them so flavorful and interesting. The fries have that In-N-Out quality where I think they were fried once instead of twice, so they have that same sort of dry consistency.
The Bahn mi is not authentic but is still really, really delicious. The bread was so tasty. Later we enjoyed the jamilton burger (whoa...) and the grilled cheese with apples. It wasn't quite caramelized as advertised but it was good and the bread was very rosemary-ish and savory.
Lastly I will warn you about the deer hunter. The spicy wing is smothered in a 750,000 scoville unit sauce. That's hotter than a ghost chili. And they don't have milk there. Just so you are prepared. It is painful...but kinda worth it for the experience. Just bring some milk or yogurt so you don't die :)
This is an awesome craft beer house in a quaint, quiet and fancy lil' neighborhood. A kickin' jukebox - a REAL jukebox - dog friendly, locals, pool, shuffle board ... if they had garage-style doors, this would be a true Texas ice house.
I really like this bar. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgable and let me sip on a few beers to try before I committed to a glass - or three.
