The Turf is a fun, unique place to get watered and grill yourself some tasty meat. The ambiance is retro, with dim lights and racehorse wallpaper that one would guess hadn't been changed since the 40's or 50's. There is a bar area and dinner booths.
The meat is reasonably priced, and as I said it's grill your own so you can choose how you'd like your meal cooked. They offer several sides (including salad and baked potato), although sometimes I have wished that there were more options.
Me and my friends have spent many fun, tipsy nights at the Turf. The tables are smaller and there is only one large grill, but they will usually make accommodations for larger parties. There have been several birthday celebrations (including my 30th) held there. Later on weekends, the bar area can fill up so get there around 7 or so.
Favorite drink: Sloe gin fizz
Favorite steak: Ribeye delmonico
When I go to a restaurant I enjoy not having to cook my own food...with that being said, if you're in the mood, the food is great and very reasonably priced. Â They also have a full bar with very reasonably priced drinks as well. The later you go, the more crowded it gets, so go early.
