It's a little dive bar tucked away behind the Dollar Tree. Drinks are decent and fairly priced. There is karaoke on Thursday nights. The crowd was starting to pick up around 10, and I would recommend showing up around then, as the early performers can be a little... painful. Seating is very limited, mostly at the bar, and there are two pool tables around the back.

damn good time after work on Friday before St. Patrick's Day. They were busy getting the tents and decorations set up around 5pm. It's an interesting crowd here. They have your usual barfly types, a couple of roided meatheads (who were actually pretty chill), a biker in full leathers, a pimp daddy, a homeless looking lady and several after work folks. Everyone was getting along and having a good time.
$6 for a plastic cup of Guinness seemed expensive for an Irish bar in a strip mall.

Lots of older people and the place was dingy. I felt dirty just sitting in the place. No way I would ever eat there.

Dublin Pub will always hold a special place near my heart, if only because it was one of the first places I truly got plastered.

Why I chose this bar, I'll never know. Beer's ok, but it's akin to a dive mixed with a sports bar. And what do you get when you mix a dive with a sports bar?

A lot of bright lights and nasty hangovers.

I came here for Karaoke night - not very impressive.

So let me get this straight - 7 bucks for a drink, in Dublin, behind a round table in a shopping center? OK, good, for a minute there, based on the price, I thought I might be in a hot club in SF.

It is a typical dive bar, with trashy regulars who may or may not have all their teeth and holes in their pants.

Oh, and there are plenty of terrible karaoke singers, with the occasional shining star every 5th song or so.
And get ready to wait - apparently there are karaoke regulars, so you might put your name in and have a dozen people who beat you to it.

Ok. so this is my first review where it almost pisses me off to write. Came here about a year ago for my birthday, talk about dead. The "D.J" jus put on a playlist that made no sense  and wouldn't take requests. i bought a t shirt to remember the occasion, and when i got home realized it was a woman's!!!!! Thinking id give it another try about a year later. ill give u the facts and let u decide.. 1/2 a patron shot $9, patron and cranberry $9, i pay maby 7 in S.F. and at least there 1. oz shots. $6 for Jagermister?? we came with a group of ten and all swore to never come back.. Im just trying to prevent anyone from having the atrocious experience that i did. Dont expect anything other than drunk Bar hags!!!!

Very Nice Owners, Always enjoy the bands they have there. Nice clean local bar.
As for the 2 people who wrote nasty comments. Very Transparent, both of them the same day, looks like sour grapes. Yelp should do a better job of their reviewing bogus posts.

We went looking for a place to play pool on a Sunday night and stumbled upon Gallagher's.  I loved that it wasn't crowded, the pool tables and cues are in good shape and the tables are quarter operated.  I had a great time and will be back.

I came here on St Patrick's Day and had a BLAST!!!  The drinks were good and the crowd was buckets of fun, despite the fact that someone decided to cop a feel at some point.  That wasn't so great and it was so crowded that I couldn't figure out who it was so that I can flip them off!  But that won't stop me from coming back here for St Paddy's Day next year, if I don't have anything else to do.

However, I would pretty much only come here on St Patrick's Day.  I met up with some friends here just a couple days ago and I left a bit disappointed.  The drinks are a bit expensive ($5 Shock Top, I don't wanna!!)  plus you have to almost be rude to the lady barkeep in order to get service.  She's WAYYYYY more concerned about the appearance of the bar than her thirsty customers.  Don't misunderstand me, a clean bar is a fantastic thing, but it should not be your number one concern when you have customers waiting.  Trust me, I do NOT like being rude to people, especially bartenders, but this woman seemed oblivious to those around her.  Yes, it was a Saturday, but even at 11 pm, it was still very empty.  Come on, I want another overpriced beer, lady!

I'm only coming back for the St Patrick's Day festivities.  Now THAT's worth it!

I come here with my roller derby team and always have a good time.  The staff is friendly and hustles to get drinks out.  The crowd is perhaps a little too friendly, but I guess if you're on a Bud Light poster in the bar, it's to be expected...

Always a good time at Gal's! Fun dive type place with a great karaoke crowd on Tuesday nights. A lot of harmless regulars that just want to have a good time. Good times!

I have frequented this place about 6 or 7 times..I've brought friends with me most of the times.. It's a good spot to stop off and have a few drinks. The bartenders are great. They're very friendly. There are pool tables and karaoke on some nites.. The regulars, and you can totally tell there a lot of regulars there, are friendly as well. Good folks. Not the racist type... Makes me proud of being a Dublinite...

This place was happenin on St. Patty's Day! Large crowd. Everyone was having a good time. And apparently some drunk, overweight, ugly and late middle-aged lady got up on the bar and took off her top! Nasty! I had to look away as soon as she started lifting up her shirt. But other than that brief moment of craziness. This is a cool place to be. Just get here SUPER early if you want to be here for St. Patty's Day or you will have to wait in a long line to get it. Cover charge was $5, there was pizza available but idk what else. Had a very great time here with my date and I wont forget it.

Some nights it's just a bar, other's are really fun! Music is good on Saturdays, had a few crazy nights here...but all good memories. Definately one of my regular stops on bar-hopping nights.

St paddys; this is the only place to be.  It's in the name, c'mon!
For this sacred, Irish holiday, the bar uses it's resources and constructs an outside amphatheatr with their side patio.  I don't know how this is done, all I know is the live music is rockin' there's hella people in green cheering and signing, and there's green beer.
I know that on such an occasion  I have eaten a hot dog or pizza slice before heading home, so that's good to count on if you've had a few too many green beers.

Tip - I went once on a non-St Paddy's day and the decorations were still up.  I think it celebrates this holiday year round! Why not?!

I've become quite a regular at Gallagher's on both Tuesday and Thursday nights - for karaoke - and yes, I have even become one of those really bad karaoke singers that gives everyone else a headache... I've yet to go to Gallagher's any other night of the week but if you're into karaoke or people watching then Gallagher's is the place to be on Tuesday and Thursday nights!  Say hi if you see me there!

This place is pretty decent. The karaoke is ok, but its just a little setup the "DJ" brings in. The location is absolutely horrible, I didn't even know it existed until a friend told me about the place and took me there. The bartenders are pretty decent, though none of them have known when a person has had too much to drink (my gf at the time kept buying more and more drinks, the bartender kept pouring them. She wound up puking on me inside the bar, and the bartender still had the nerve to ask if she wanted another drink because hers was empty). The crowd is generally older, though there is a sparse amount of younger people there.

Overall, this place is decent. It was the first bar I had ever been to, and it is better than most of the "upscale" places on main street in Livermore. So if you're looking for a good place to go out and have a drink or 2 with a friend or 2, not a bad place. If you're looking for something more upbeat, want to have some more fun, and want to really rock out some karaoke, there are much better places close by.

Gallagher's is a perfect spot for Karaoke. They have a huge wrap around island bar with plenty of space for singing and dancing. Karaoke takes place on Tuesday and Thursday nights with Gallagher himself running the f*cking show. You might have a hard time finding this place because IT IS BEHIND THE ROUND TABLE PIZZA. Park in front of Round Table or drive around the shopping center to find the super secret parking lot. When I went there they had $2 Tecate!!!!

I swore to myself that I would never come back here. But I did. The first time the bouncer mean mugged me and was talking smack under his breath. To this day I have no idea what I did to him. Maybe me sitting there looking miserable was somehow affecting him.

I really enjoyed the live music and the bartenders were really sweet about returning unwatched purses to some of the sloppier patrons. I would say my biggest problem here would be the crowd. But what do you expect, right?

Gallaghers, what happened to you?! I don't necessarily blame the change on you, but the crowd. I remember this used to be the fun place to go on the weekends. I came here a few weekends ago, and when walking into the bar, the place was practically empty besides some older white trash drunks hunched over the bar.

I miss the old days. I am willing to give you another shot, but where did all of the people go. It might be time for some new marketing, or something! Your prices are reasonable and you used to be so great. Let's get it back!

Came by with the boyfriend after running an errand to get something at the Dollar store.  This place is right next to Round Table pizza.  It's your local neighborhood bar.  Classic vibe.  Playing classic hard rock on the juke box when we went in.  Nice touch to have free coffee for the patrons.

For my taste, I like the Dublin Sports bar a bit more because of their choice of beers.  But I can see the appeal of this place also for alot of the locals.

Robert, the owner of Gallagher's, sent me a message to let me know that the bathroom issues have been cleared up. He also thanked me for being a customer.

I like Gallagher's and enjoy coming here. Tuesdays are still my favorite.

Ok, the service has improved, it is easier to get a drink now... Though the crowd has gone downhill.  I'm not sure when this became the hangout for the 21-25 crowd and I'm not sure I like it in my ripe old age (of 33)

For the most part it's still a good crowd, but sometimes the kids can be disrespectful, annoying punks.  I don't stay long on those nights.

Oh, but on the plus side, Ted the KJ has just about every song in the world that you could ever think to sing!

ooooooh gallaghers. I've only been here on Tuesdays with people from work, when there's karaoke, and the results are a mix of hilarious, fantastic, and sometimes down right painful. The bar top is rarely too crowded so I get quick service, and the drinks are decent. The KJ always helps me out with finding a song if it's not listed, and still lets my extremely white friend sing ridiculous hip hop songs.

The crowd is what makes this place. Just come to people watch. My favorite is our friend "mumbles," who we have nicknamed as such because of the complete lack of any discernible lyrics when he sings. The age gap is pretty noticeable, with a few younger people like me, and a whole lot of older locals. And it's Dublin, so the locals are ummm...seasoned looking. I think that's the best way to put it. It's easy to have a good time if you come with friends, drink heavily, and watch the seasoned and not so seasoned belt it out...or mumble it.

Came here last week for a joint grad night and bday party. I have to say this place is a typical dive bar. I had a really good time while is was here but I think it was more because of the company I was with.

It has the usual offerings that most bars do:
    Pool Table
    Online jukebox
Decent selection of beer and booze
Mix of young kids and surly old people looking for their booze fix

Last night was my second time here. I met some of my girls here and we drank the night away. There was a live band that played songs by Bon Jovi, and other typical bar tunes. Plenty of people on the dance floor. The crowd makes for some good people watching. There's a lil bit of everything here. The vibe is low key, but everyone seems to be having a good time. Drinks were not super strong, I did not pay a cover, I met some new people and had a good time. I'm sure I'll be back!

I love this bar. I think I'm a little biased in my assessment because I grew up in Dublin and I usually run into someone I know at the pub. I do agree with some of the negative comments that other people posted. Sometimes there is nothing but old creepy men at the bar or bikers playing hard core death metal on the jukebox at the loudest volume possible. But, more often than not, I end up having a really good time! The drinks are strong and fairly priced. I love the bartenders. There is karaoke on the week days and a lot of live music on the weekends. For the most part, the people who hang there are really cool. It's a local pub to the fullest and I love it!

I can't believe the bad reviews...wow. I love Gally's! Great bartenders, great security.. I've had my birthday there the last 2 yrs. I think its a great place!! Prices aren't bad either. Lately on Fridays they have a band and as of recently they charge $2 after like 10 I think.. big deal its worth it!! It's also just a hop, skip & a drunkin stumble home!! Niiice!

this place is in dublin so i can see how it is a little popular. there has never been too many options for a great place to go out for drinks in dublin and gallagher's still isn't one of them.

in all of my years in the tri valley east bay i have been here and to many other places and there is so much better to offer out there. sure all of the great and fun dive bars are not around as much anymore and this one should join them soon. this part of dublin has always been run down and attracted the not so desirable crowd and gallagher's is no exception. the staff and clientele are rude and so creepy. the entire experience is like being at a nascar event and sniffing paint. stay away unless you like your girls and guys with a great looking mullet.

Ugh, this place is so way overrated. But then again I'm sure most of the people that gave this place 4 stars or more were fairly to extremely inebriated when they made that assesment.

    Frist off...
This place is too brightly lit as others noted.
    Staff is rude and creepy.
The music is bazaar (i.e. deathmetal?) and played so loud the speakers rattle and vibrate.
Hearing what the hell the creepy guy is saying to you? Impossible.
    *sigh there*
A hole in the wall place charging cover? Yea I don't get that one.

Overall, this is not the ideal place I'd like to drink or meet anyone. But judge for yourself!

My reviews are too long so I'll keep this one short (sorta)

Gallaghers has moved (next door from where it used to be) and has been remodeled since some of these reviews were written so it's no longer the dingy, smokey, scary place it used to be.

The bartenders here are awesome! Most are super friendly and pour a good drink.  Example: the other night the bartender ordered up some pizza from the next door round table and passed them around the bar for all to partake. And they always keep the drinks coming, even when it gets busy they are pretty attentive.

There's a juke box with good music, a large U shaped bar (good for sittin, drinkin, and people watchin) two pool tables, and a claw machine that carries pornos...yes, porn in the claw machine.  And YES people get drunk and start dumping quarters in attempting to win pornos...although yours truly never has...but I have seen people win them.

Sometimes they have live music or karaoke, they have massive st. patty's day parties and for the most part there is always a good crowd in there. The crowd is a mix of the regulars, the cougars, the pumas (younger cougars) the guys trying to hook up, and whoever else wanders in.  The crowd is mostly mid 20's - mid 30's mixed in with the reulars and old timers.Oh yeah, and it's always clean...even the girls bathroom (huge plus).

Always a good fun time at Gallies! My current personal fave of the Dublin bar tour.

I had some fun here a while back, I've only been here once but I had a lot of fun.

They had a large bar area where mostly older folks hung out.  My coworkers and I made some good use of the pool table,  it was easy to get drinks, and we ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Pretty good dive bar, if I remember right I think the drinks were fairly inexpensive.

I love a good dive bar. In fact I popped onto yelp! today because I was discussing with a friend the complete lack of good dive bars in the San Ramon area..

The first time I came here was in 2005 for St. Patrick's day. This was before they relocated to the opposite corner of the little "alley" walk-way thing... The old location was definitely dimly lit, but being an Irish pub on st. patty's day, i can't really judge it.

So a few months ago some good friends convinced me to go with them to meet up another old friend who was there with her parents and their friends. This should have been enough to raise the warning flags, but a bunch of her other friends were supposed to show up too, so it sounded like it might be fun.

Man that place was BRIGHT. seriously rule #1 of a good dive bar, dim lighting. It was so lit up in there it was more like a carnival tent at the church festival fundraiser than a dive bar.

And it gets worse from there. The older crowd seemed to prevail, and with the exception of the other people we were there to meet, there were a lot of creepy people. If I wanted men my fathers' age to hit on me (over and over and over after being told nicely that i wasn't interested) all the time, I would totally become a regular.

Service was slow, and they only really had one bartender on a Saturday night.

It really is a shame because this area could use some cool bars without all the egos and bathroom boob job comparisons.

Dive bar!   But that's why one goes there.   I think Gallagher's has been there for ages and ages.

It's dimly lit, but they do pour good drinks and again, it's a whole crew of regulars.   If you're in Dublin, it's after Midnight and you want a drink... this is a great place to get one.

What can I say. I'm not sure if you're supposed to review bars here, but I feel I would be doing a disservice if I did not. Gallagher's was first introduced to me when I moved to Dublin. It is a hole-in-the-wall bar located on the east side of Big Lots. This is the only bar in the area that I know of that is open until 2AM EVERYDAY of the week.
There is a shuffle board table beside the bust of the great Gallagher. If the bar had a philosophy attached to it, it would be this. Do one thing and be the best at it.

If you should grace this bar with your presence, order a cadillac martini. It is fabulous.

AND look out for the ice man. He rides in on his 10-speed bike and enjoys the atmosphere.

Overall, if you have to go to Dublin, go to this bar.
