As a business owner first impressions are everything, and for The Game Sports Pub N Pizza they did everything BUT IMPRESS me.  The service was just straight up rude.  I called in to place an order for pick up and the customer service over the phone wasn't bubbly in fact she acted like every question I was asking was inconveniencing her.  I decided to keep my order, wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.  When I picked up my order there was few people in there not very busy, and the staff working was so consumed talking about personal problems with people at the bar.  I stood in line and waited for 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledge that I was there to pick up my pizza after they stared at me at least 4 times not doing there job.  The man who asked "What are you in for?" had such an attitude and edgy voice.  Not sure what is up with the customer service these days! Overall the pizza was good.  $25 for a large pizza that would feed about 4 people.  If you were to be blind folded to test  this pizza verses Mountain Mikes you wouldn't notice the difference. Bottom line wont be returning I will go back to Mountain Mikes for better customer service and the same tasting food.  Read all the other reviews about the food and slow service before you make a decision to come here.
Review Source:Good pizza, decent value. They have a small arcade for the kids and plenty of TV's to watch the games. Service was great and everyone was pretty friendly. Â It was pretty busy on a Friday night, but our food came out fast and everything was hot at delicious. Overall a good experience.
Review Source:My family stopped by The Game for the first time on Monday night. Â It was close to where we live and on our way to run some errands. Â Perfect! Â There was plenty of parking on the street at 6:30pm. Â Got inside and the place was practically empty. Â Just a few guys having an after work drink at the bar. Â The pizza was a little on the pricier side than I'd like to see. Â You have to place your order at the bar and then they'll bring your pizza to your table. Â Husband dealt with placing the order so I don't know how the customer service was. Â Pizza was on our table within 20 min. Â It was really good pizza, I can't complain there. Â The place seemed pretty clean and tidy. Â The facilities were also nice and clean. Â We liked this place and will be back.
Review Source:Excellent pizza and fantastic salad bar. Â My son and I enjoy spending Sunday's here for the Carolina Panthers games on Directicket. Â The staff is very friendly; they even open the doors at 10AM for kick off. Â The atmosphere is nice, we feel welcome here even though we are the only Panthers fans.
Review Source:We were trying to find a sports bar/pizza place close to home. With enthusiasm and excitement we happened upon The Game Sports Pub N Pizza. One would think it would meet our needs. Alas, it did not. It was freezing cold in the restaurant, the pizza sauce was bland, and the service was extremely slow! It took 45 to get my pepperoni pizza!! I could have gone to Safeway, gone home, cooked a frozen pizza, had time to clean my house and would have had a better pizza experience than I did at the Game Sports Pub N Pizza all in less than 45 minutes plus the 30 minutes round trip to town!! On top of it all, I would have saved $30. Too expensive and too slow!
Review Source:So my wife finally talked me into trying this Pizza place. Â I will not go back! My first encounter when walking in was someone stopping us at the door for donations for a charity? Kinda got ya trapped? Â
Next was trying to find a clean table, it was 7:30 Sat evening, the place was 40% full, had about 60% of the empty tables with old glasses and pizza remains?
Wife went to order , it took 20 minutes before someone even came out to clean our table and thats after she had asked?
Next was the 10 minute wait to get someone to pour a beer? Â Finally Pizza came out around 40 minutes after arriving, and frankly it was something we could make at home?
If I am gonna go out for PIZZA and splurge on Junk food, I sure want it to be darn good! This was one step better then Mouse place..
Oh ya, owner finally came out and trolled around, looked like he just woke up..If you are gonna be a owner and want business? Look like it is important to ya! Â SHAVE,CLEAN SHIRT,SMILE AND TALK WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS...
Only very good part of this place is they did have many many TV'S With sports on, so if thats what you are there for and just beer...It would work...
It was kinda slow for St. Patrick's Day but perhaps it was busy for the NCAA tournament games. Â Regardless, the inside was something I didn't expect. I thought it was going to be a bit dark, a mini Buffalo Wild Wings but the place was actually lit really well, and open seating area. I didn't feel like the tables were too close together and they were clean. Some sports bars are pretty dingy but The Game was surprising clean. There are table to sit at, a bar with bar stools, a private seating area, an arcade, all you can eat salad bar, a place to add your business cards (which I did), and they serve beer and wine. You had to order at the counter, they give you a number and they'll bring out your meal as soon as bits and pieces are ready.
We came here with a party of five. Our total for a small Ballbuster pizza (good and spicy!), 12 hot and fire wings and 3 garlic twists came to $41. The wings were good. Definitely hot enough for me but I forgot to ask them to cook them well. I like my wings crispy. My bad. The twists were short but tasty. I prefer Round Tables but these were still pretty good. They had a good amount of flat screen TV's surrounding the restaurant so no matter where you were sitting, you had view of a television in front of you and to your sides. I think we'll be back!
I have to say wasn't to impressed with the food. Â I have been there a few times. Â The main reason I go is when Tailgaters is closed.
The dough in the pizza tastes like it was frozen. Â Toppings were ok. Â The have had the wings there also. Â I think there is more skin then actually chicken. Â I tried them twice, one time over done and the next was under done.
I would not recommend going here if you plan on eating. Â If you want a beer and watch a game it is a good place.
The atmosphere is more of a "family friendly" than a typical sports bar theme but the selection of pizzas were good. Â There's flat screen tv's all over with a good variety of stations and games, so you'll never miss any action. Â The bar serves just beer and wine so if you think you'll get a bull/vodka or a John Daly, you're mistaken. Â It a good place to just sit down, have a pizza and catch a game with the family. Â Parking right now is a bit challenging due to street contruction being done right out in front but there's adequate parking in the rear of the building with access to the restaurant from there. Â The owners are extremely friendly and walk around to make sure everything is to you're liking not to mention their staff. Â I've been there a few times and have not had one bad experience....if you want a good pizza, catch a few games and bring the kids along, this is the place!
Review Source:I came here with my friends on a Saturday night around 5 o clock.
It wasn't really busy and for all of us, it's our first time.
They wanted to find a place to watch the dunk contest so this was it.
We ordered pizza and all the usual bar foods, such as hot wings and potato skins.
The food was good.
And this place is really clean.
Restaurants are generally clean but this is noticeably clean.
The employees here are really nice as well.
Came here for some pizza and some beer last week and we weren't disappointed.
What I liked:
-The Size of the Mediums were almost like the size of a Large at some other places.
-The crust was pretty thin and crunchy like how I like it.
-The Ball Buster was tasty: Â The Ball Buster is their pizza with Jalapenos, Pepperoni, Linguisa, Red Onions, Hot Sausage, and Garlic. Â
-The pizza was really good as a left over at home the next day. Â
-They had an OK selection of beers on tap for a pizza place, although they do also call themselves a sports pub so maybe its not really that impressive if you think of it as a sports pub. Â We got a couple pitchers of Sam Adams Winter Ale which really hit the spot.
-There are plenty of TV's around to watch sports although the only sporting event going on during our visit was the Winter X Games. Â
We all enjoyed our visit and I'd go back again if I was in Brentwood.
We just recently moved to Brentwood, but have friends in the area that have lived here for years. One of our first nights in town, they suggested this place. We have been here several times since, and really enjoy this place!
This is a great place for families. The pizza and apps are pretty good, and there are plenty of games in the arcade. The owner is always pleasant and attentive.
I must admit I went in with low expectations because I had heard less than rave reviews. The pizza was actually decent, not great, but not bad. The service was OK at best (slow). I was really hoping with all the beer taps that they might have some interesting beers, but it was all the usual suspects. Sierra Nevada was the best thing they had on tap and it can be had anywhere. Can't they offer one or two exciting beers for the enthusiast?
Although the place has promise I'd rather head to Melo's or Skipolini's who both have better pizza and a better beer selection.
My family has been in here several times, the location is so convienant and the pizza is good. My husband loves the wings and we both really enjoy the potato skins. My husband also loves the selection of beers on tap! Its a nice place to relax, eat some pizza and watch a game. I enjoy the Lion pizza even though it is expensive for a pizza.
Review Source:The 3 previous dinning experiences at The Game Sports Pub N Pizza had been a great experience, but after the 4th time there it'll be our last time!! We went there on a Friday for dinner and yes the place was packed full of adults kids and teens. We placed our order at the counter and payed close to $90.00 for 1 large pizza and 1 small pizza, 6 salads and 6 fountain drinks. After 1 hour of waiting still no pizza!! The teen waitress finally brings out the small pizza and say's nothing about why its taken so long and still no large pizza. Yet the tables next to us with about 12 teens keep getting there pizza brought out to them and we got there first!! Keep in mind the cooks making the pizza are teens and the wait staff are teens. I believe the teens working there were taking care of their friends before everybody else! Keep in mind I am there with my 3 teens, mother in law and pregnant wife. So finally when we asked about our order the front counter had told us it was coming up. Â Finally, a server brought out our pizza and did not check the table number to which the pizza should have gone to and had given it to another table by accident. Our table had been right in front of her when she realized she had made the mistake and instead of owing up to the mistake she came up to our table and literally lied to us about our pizza coming right out. Â Five minutes later the Manager comes to our table to let us know that they have just begun to make our pizza? Which lie is it? Â Any establishment would have apologized and offered some kind of offering. Â We ended up leaving without eating and had to spend more money at another establishment so that we could have a somewhat decent meal. Â This place doesn't even deserve the star in my opinion. Â This place needs to focus more on customer service and be more on top of disciplining their teen employees serving/hooking up their friends with pizzas who probably didn't pay for their food to begin with. Â There were three other tables as well who noticed the customer service was just as terrible and the wait for their pizzas were also taking long as well.
Review Source:I went here last night for dinner with my family. My dad had already been in a couple of times, so after hearing all his great reviews we decided to give it a shot and I'm glad we did. The service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and family oriented, the restaurant was exceptionally clean and the food and beer were terrific! We had a pitcher of Stella (excellent on tap, btw!), a couple salads from the salad bar and two medium pizzas. The Ballbuster pizza was delicious - I recommend it if you like things spicy! The other pizza which was a combo of our own mix of toppings was also excellent.
The salad bar was good as well. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. For the person who complained about the salad bar, two things. 1) Who really goes to a sports bar for the salad anyway and 2) if you can't tell which salad dressing is which by sight, then you have a whole set of other issues I wont get into here. I mean they are your four staples: ranch, Italian, thousand island and blue cheese. Maybe you were confused by the ranch and blue cheese. For the record, blue cheese is the one with the big chunks in it. Hopefully next time you can figure it out should the opportunity ever present itself again and baffle your mind.
They also have an arcade room which my brother (20) and myself (27) found amusing and reminiscent of pizza night when we were little. The arcade room is sure to be fun for all ages.
Overall, we had a very positive experience and will definitely be back. I'm excited to have a sports bar with great pizza close to Discovery Bay without having to drive ALL the way over to Lone Tree.
PIzza + Beer + Sports = The Game
It's a winning combination. Â The historic downtown location has a fun new place enjoy all 3, and more! Â The staff was friendly and helpful. Â Very open room with a side room I'd guess one can reserve for parties. Â It's clean and bright inside, which I really like. Â They have a number of taps lined up with maybe a dozen draught beers to choose from. Â The pizza we had was really quite good on all levels. Â I didn't count the flat screens but they were all around the place. Â Very nice.
They are some other items on the menu such a traditional salad bar and wings. Â I enjoyed the salad bar, but need to come back for the wings. Â With so many combinations to choose from, it will take a few visits to zero in on what my family will picks as their favorites!
A large 1/2 cheese 1/2 supreme, a couple of salad bars and a pitcher of Flat Tire:
The pizza is pretty good. Â The toppings are fresh and the crust is thin & crispy. Â The salad bar is bounteous and clean. The Flat Tire was recommended by a friend. Considering I gave him a fleeting mention of what I don't like beer wise, he was spot on with that one.
The Game features a very open layout with a great variety of tables and tons of flat screen televisions. I definitely envision large teams/groups coming here for games and event celebrations. Seating is first come, first served. If you are making Friday or Saturday night plans, keep that in mind. Â We needed an extra chair and the manager/owner was really attentive and helped us with that.
There's a small arcade in the back, next to the banquet room. The layout of the women's restroom brought about an interesting discussion. Either grab a paper towel on the way to the sink or be ready to wash and run. Â Due to the narrow layout, they had to put the towel dispenser quite a distance from the sink.
Price wise, the food was quite reasonable on ratio with quality.
Stopped by The Game today to see what it was all about. We were excited to get a sports bar so close to home. (walking distance) We both had the lunch special. Small pizza, Salad bar and a drink. Cost about $7.50. Not to bad. VERY good pizza and loved the salad bar. What made the experience great is the comfortable atmosphere and the flat screens everywhere for watching the game. The owner or manager even checked in with us to see how we were doing. That was VERY cool. Lets you know they value their customers. Thanks TG for a great 1st experience. Highly recommended!
Review Source:The family, my dad and his wife went to The Game for lunch today. Â It was pretty empty when we got there, but quickly filled up as soon as noon approached. Â The arcade games weren't turned on yet so that upset the kid, but it just meant that I didn't have to run after him all over the place. Â Our son just picks the pepperoni off the pizza so my hubby asked if he can just have some on a plate. Â The gave us a ton warmed up for .50. Â I don't know the name of the pizza we got, but it had everything on it. Â Maybe it was just the combo, but it was damn good. Â My dad kept saying how good the crust was and that 's a huge complement since he's an amazing cook himself. Â
There's a salad bar, but we didn't get it this time, but next time I'll try it out. Â I was expecting a little more on the menu just by the name. Â I guess when I think Pub I think fish and chips style. Â I just need to change my thinking of it for this place as another way to say bar. Â
I would totally recommend going there. Â Great place for all ages, not too loud at lunch time, but not sure about dinner. Â There is a room for parties which is nice.
Just got back from a great lunch at the "Game". Watched the Giants on the big screens, had a nice salad and personal pizza, and it didn't break the bank. Everyone there was super friendly. The remodel looks fantastic, with all the oak trim, you can see they spared no expense and the wood workers knew what they were doing. The place is huge, and should be perfect for groups and teams to meet & eat. I can't wait to go back!
