We are regulars here and love it. We have been going for about 9 months now. I can only speak for the breakfasts, which are bomb! The portions are good size and the same cute waitresses are always there on Saturdays. They have a cool bar and good bloody marys. I always get the eggs benedict. My wife gets the corned beef hash and eggs. We want to try the big salad bar if we ever go for lunch. Gary's is a cool little spot for breakfast!
Review Source:I only have 1 thing to say about Gary's Place.. DO NOT GO THERE! unless you want TERRIBLE service, and have nothing but time on your hands and like mediocre food..and when you complain that you are not paying a tip because your food was 2 hrs to late the police would be called... Â (we had a party of 13) as the owner server who knows told me"we are a small kitchen and can not move that fast" Â If i could post a negative star to this place I would...
Review Source:Perhaps my expectations were too high but when I PAY for service I expect decent service. Â I don't think that's too much to ask. Â My wife and I went in for breakfast. Gary's Place was moderately busy but not overwhelmed. We found a table and waited for a pretty fair amount of time before our waitress (with a black-eye) shows up to take our order. Â The food shows up in a reasonably fast and that's the last we see of our server. Â No drink refills, no checking on us. nothing. Â The food wasn't worth a second trip and the service wasn't either. Â Would have been better going to Denny's. Â Won't be going back.
Review Source:Putting flags up for Vets day made me hungry.  I was treated to this place and it  did not disappoint.  The place has a bed and breakfast type look and feel to it.  The staff was excellent.  Good food, great staff, great price!  If I am in this area again for breakfast.  I would love to come back and try it again.
Review Source:What a nice little surprise just across the way from Ellis Lake! Came in for lunch on recommendation from my sister, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Lunch was yummy; they had strong, fair-priced drinks, and friendly staff (especially the bartenders). The bar was dark and fun with music playing, and the restaurant was bright and polished. Will definitely be stopping by on my next visit to Marysville...
Review Source:Went here for breakfast once and I will never go back. To start, the waitress handed me a dirty booster seat. I am not one of those germaphobe moms but this seat had a huge chunk of smashed potato or something on it. If I had had a napkin, I would have just wiped it off myself, but no napkins. Ordered food and a milk for my toddler, the milk came about 10 mins later, right before the food. Everything was ok... I guess...except for the hashbrowns. They were burnt or old or both. I couldn't put my finger on it. The waitress assured me that everything is so fresh, but the hashbrowns were disgusting. So bad in fact, that they ruined my whole meal. I boxed my food up to take home, but it will probably just sit in my fridge until I throw it away in a few days. I was just so mad that I paid 9 bucks for gross food, somehow taking it with me made me feel better. My toddler was getting antsy so we needed boxes and the check. It took us probably 5 minutes to get our credit card back, all the while trying to corral a 2 yr old that was ready to go. Slow service, bad food, no thanks!
Review Source:Love Gary's place for breakfast. The waitresses are really sweet and the food is fresh and yummy. They have a really yummy ham on the weekends for a great deal! The cinnamon rolls are a fave, the have their own rootbeer on tap (which is amazing). They also take AAA, you get a 10% when you show your card before you pay. Its a great deal! Always out for less than $20 for 2 people with drinks.
Review Source:Went to Gary's Place yesterday with some friends and my bf. Cozy little bar and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. (Why not they're in a bar!). Drinks came pretty fast and the appetizers were really good. Lots of "good ol' boys talking loud and drinking like you'd expect at any small town bar. My only reason for not giving this bar a  better reivew is 1) there was only one bartender when we came in (which was around Happy Hour) and it was obvious she was over-whelmed. 2) And this might be a silly thing BUT they didn't card me when I came in. Now, I'm 22 years old but I still get carded at R-rated movies. I seriously look 14 yrs old and I expected to be carded. In their defense my boyfriend order our drinks (sodas, we had to drive home) but in every other bar I've ever been to there was someone carding people at the door. Not a big deal but I was alittle suprised. I'm sure had I ordered something myself I would have been carded. At any rate, good food, fairly nice atmosphere,  and cozy areas to sit. I'll be coming back.
Review Source:If you want the Yuba City/Marysville bar experience, oh my god will you find it here! Â Here are some things that you can find at Gary's Place on a Thursday night after last call at the Wood Butcher:
A. The same people you just saw at the Wood Butcher, including the 45 year-old actual crackhead who looks like she is 60.
B. People drinking bloody mary's (at 1 am??) with what appeared to be an entire antipasto tray as garnish. Â I'm talkin' pickled green beans, a stick of wilted celery, salami...
C. Karaoke, featuring my best-friend's bf singing a duet with the crackhead from item A.
This bar has the real small-town appeal that the pseudo-dive bars in SF only hope to achieve (here's looking at you Butter). Â I guarantee you, if you don't take yourself too seriously, a goooood time will be had by all.
