My boyfriend likes to come here sometimes because it's convenient and close by . They have a projector that plays blurry music videos which I think is kinda weird and takes away from the atmosphere of the place . They have dices available if you want to play but they don't have snacks which kind of sucks . What I love about this place is that their beers are super cold . I'm not usually a big fan of beers but I really enjoyed theirs . I think it's probably because other places don't serve it cold enough . It's nice how the guy here tells you if their beer hasn't been chilled before you order it . Will probably be back for their ice cold beers because they're so close by but just wished they had some snacks .

Rude, lying, discriminatory.  First three words I think of when I'm reminded of my visit last night.  I had just parted ways with my family after thanksgiving & was looking for a beer, when I happened to find this place.  I was immediately met by a "wtf are you doing here?" look from the bartender.

As I first enter the pub, I'm overwhelmed by cigarette smoke, seeming that they really don't care about California law to begin with. So, I head over to the bar to get a drink, while being stared at by the five Asian patrons, where the bartender said immediately said: "I'm sorry, this is a private party."  Really? I know when most bars hold private parties, they turn off their neon signs, especially the one that says open.  They usually have a sign mentioning there's a private party going on.

I mentioned this to her, as I could see through her I'm not gonna serve you lie.  So, when I left she yelled another lie to feebly cover her last lie to me.  "There's a sign outside!!" Just to get her last idiotic word in.  Well, she was right there were signs on the door, but they read; Restrooms Are For Customers Only, & Must Be 21 To Enter.

No mention of a private party.

So it seems like she was really saying to me; please take your money elsewhere. Please find a better bar that likes serving people. Our place is terrible, you really don't need our awful service & crappy people skills.

After the service I had received, I would say the best business move for these guys would be going out of business.  I now hope the worst for that bartender, & the bar.  I think the health inspector might need to figure out why a bar would ever have cigarette smoke scented air-fresheners.  I hope this place goes away, & soon.  San Francisco doesn't need discriminatory dive bars.

    FAIL.

    Oh me, oh my.
The Geneva Pub stays open until 2:00 every night, they let you smoke, have a very good pool table, and have plenty of dice for whatever your fun.
They're always playing weird Karaoke videos on the screens and will very kindly turn the volume down should you want to use the jukebox.
Sharon and Mike are the coolest, great conversations and warm environment. While the price isn't dirt cheap - whatever, they stay open until 2:00.
I'm done drinking for a while, but coming here after The Broken Record closes made for some of the most fun I ever forgot all about the next morning.
So, if you're in the neighborhood and want to make a night of it, come here - I love this place.

Being within walking distance from my apt, and Broken Record early closings I stepped in last Thursday for a drink and escape from a brief downpour of rain. About a table of 5-7 asians in corner playing some dice game, no one at bar, but bartender was behind bar smoking and appeared to be fiddling in the ice bin back there. I'd wanted a mixed drink (would have needed ice) not a bottled beer so I turned and left. Health code anyone?

this pub is around the corner, and we've popped in here when we weren't digging the scene over at the broken record.  they're generous with their pour, but the price for liquor isn't dirt dive bar cheap.  they have unknown and questionable asian snacks for purchase.  i saw the barmaid open the fridge, and saw odd things in a tupperware.  when asked, she replied they were chicken feet.  it's definitely full of regulars, who are particularly asian.  they allow smoking in the bar.

barmaid couldn't pour a pint of sierra for her life.  she was spooning out the head at least 3 times, and eventually married 2 pints together.  i'd stay clear off the pints on draft, and stick with the bottles and shots.

Three stars but it's not my regular hangout.

Drinks are strong (not sure if it's on purpose or because some bartenders are new). The bartenders are young, females and friendly. That is, when you order something. Otherwise, they hang with their friends or the regulars the entire time. You'd have to flag them down for drinks, even when the place has like ten people total.

The place is relatively small, and the door is mostly open so it does get chilly inside. There's only a few non-stools seatings. Having a pool table is cool though. So is the basically non-stop Cantopop on the plasmas. Not bad if you're Chinese, middle-aged Chinese, or expats, or fobs, or need a Geneva Avenue bar (even though it's called "pub") to hang at.

Geneva pub is under new ownership.

This place use to be a sports dive. Now, it's more of a place for Chinese expats. I didn't mind that the only other person of about the 50 or so people in here, besides my homeboy Danny, was the rude ass bartender chicka. However, I did mind her rude and hateful attitude towards us. We just came here to play a game a pool and have a beer and she goes off on having a $5 dollar drink minimum each and giving us a hard time with anything and everything.., well you can just tell she was uncomfortable about having non-Chinese folks in here and wanted us out of there at all costs. Ok relax!! I don't want any trouble.

I wouldn't say avoid Geneva Pub. Rosa Parks didn't give in when she was asked to get off the bus.  Who knows, maybe you'll have better luck with the Bartender waitress from hell. Maybe try bringing her a hello kitty pencil or maybe just be strait from Taiwan.

    Exponentially Wack

So I just moved to the neighborhood, and I decided to check out the night life in the area.  Right across the street from my house is Geneva Pub, so me and some friends went to hang out.  It was about midnight when we got there, and this place was jumping!  It was loud with chatter and laughter, people were smoking and playing pool.  The ambience was pleasant and comfortable.

So why three stars?  Well, they made my friends drink wrong.  That's a big no-no for a bar, especially one without food.  Also everyone was speaking Chinese and the music videos playing were in Chinese.  I'm not Chinese.  Nothing against Chinese people, it's just not my kind of place if I can't talk to new people.

If you are Chinese, this place is a solid 4 stars.  They let you smoke!!
