The concerts are fantastic: very informative pre concert talks, great music and ensemble choices. Very eclectic performance groups:(We have listened to Kitka (Balkan singing), harpsichord music where several instruments could be viewed up close , as well as the Esterhaszy quartet with Elizabeth le Guin amongst many others. Several international musicians come to  perform as well.
All this for a nominal fee ($16-20), perfect acoustics, a casual reception with the musicians afterwards and plenty of free parking.
Many thanks to Kevin Fryer (harpsichord maker) who tirelessly (it seems) organizes these special evenings. Truly a hidden treasure.
Live at Mission Blue, which is hosted at the lovely Mission Blue Center in Brisbane, is one of my favorite musical concert series. Â I would encourage anyone who is interested in bright, lively and very well-done chamber music to take the opportunity to travel to Brisbane, which is located about 5 miles south outside the city limit of San Francisco. Â The price for tickets is a value and anyone would be hard pressed to find such good quality music for so reasonable a cost.
Recently, my husband and I enjoyed a stunningly beautiful chamber music concert, performed by the New Esterházy Quartet, and will be going to Music of 17th Century Spain on the 18th of February.  I'm looking forward to that performance and future performances.
Kudos should also go to Kevin Fryer, Artistic Director of the Music at Mission Blue concerts. Â Kevin, a musician in his own right and creator of stunning hand-made harpsichords, brings his own love of great music, fine instruments and high caliber musicians to these wonderful concert offerings.
The Mission Blue Center is in a magnificent location on the Southeast side of Brisbane, overlooking a canyon. Â Inside, the intimate performance space is perfectly suited for exceptionally enjoyable listening to chamber music played by very fine musicians. Â Parking is adjacent to the Center and is free.
My family and I have been at almost every Live at Mission Blue Concert for the past seven years. The eighth season is off to a great start with the Esterhazy Quartet with Elizabeth LeGuin.
Every concert has been incredible, with viewing and listening access to the musicians up close and personal. It truly feels like being a part of the music and the sound at the Mission Blue Center for acoustic instruments is live and simply perfect.
This is a great way to enjoy a Saturday night out, hassle free, plenty of parking, and easy on the wallet at only 15-20 dollars a ticket for world class musicians. It is also a kid friendly environment and a wonderful way to introduce young people to chamber music the intimate way it was intended to be heard.
Buy a season subscription for 3 concerts this year and you will be delighted.
