A neighborhood gem. Why it is still worth living in SF. Tasty selection of books, great music, and a warm and cozy space. Just love to hang out browsing. Support it so we don't lose it.

Took a few books in today to sell them to this store. The clerk said, "We don't pay cash for books, but we can do a store credit"

I replied, "Sure. that's fine"

He selected 3 books he liked, and said the other books he wouldn't have use for (the subject matters were all different, including art, a book about dogs, and some on religion and spirituality, etc).

He said, "..we don't actually sell many religious books.."  
I replied, "That's odd, because this is where I buy all my books on religion and philosophy"
He chuckled nervously, and said, "Well, you must be the only one buying them."

I thought to myself... an ENTIRE section, stocked JUST FOR ME??  Wow, that's awesome...especially since I have only recently started shopping here, I wonder why they stock "religious" books, if no one buys them. Odd.

He said he would give me $7.50 in store credit. Awesome. He then said, "Well, that' $7.50 credit off NEW books, but if you want any old books, you lose credit ..you would get only 25% off the price of a used book"

I left the store, tore-up the pathetic store credit he had written for me, and I will never return. I don't like a business that lies, and engages in fraudulent tactics. I'll get my books off Amazon.
