Normally I don't rate things so low. Â I've never been served here but mostly get take out or delivery. Â EVERY TIME... they overcook something and has singe marks. Â The first time I went with a friend and the thin crust pizza was burnt and had a lot of black near the edges and bottom of the pizza. Â It was edible but, it just felt... I don't know... overpriced for burnt pizza. Â If I get a nice pizza at a nice restaurant, I expect quality. Â Quality ingredients are great but not with poor quality cooking. Â
Once I had flatbread and it came out extra extra crispy, dry, and with black edges and bottom. Â
My boyfriend also got me a pizza the other day and it was soooo yummy but again... I love pepperoni, so he topped it off with some pepperoni, however, the pizza tasted amazing and good but my pepperoni were mostly all burnt. Â I ate them but they still tasted burnt. Â I'm loving the menu and the deep dish is definitely the way to go. Â The flatbreads are good. Â Garlic fries could be improved. Â Salads are huge! Â They deserve more stars once I've eaten something not so burnt.
I'm not from the midwest, but went there based on reviews on Yelp.  Not impressed.  Got the stuffed pizza, and it was not cooked all the way through.  The bottom  of the pizza dough was saturated with grease and uncooked.  There were some good attributes...lots of pizza filling, delivery was quick, and chopped salad was excellent.  Maybe try a traditional pizza and results will be better?
Review Source:I've been here countless times when I lived in the area, and now that I live in St. Louis, I miss it SO MUCH!
I've had all kinds of pizza, and there is no pizza like deep dish Chicago-style pizza, and there is no deep dish like Giordano's! I'm sort of a picky eater so I usually just get sausage and peppers in mine but yum yum so tasty!! Takes a while to cook (45 minutes I think??) but SO worth it! My mom prefers thin crust pizza, so I've had this several times and it's very good as well!
The last time I went here with my family, they were out of BOTH appetizers that we wanted to order (mozz sticks and cheesy bread). It was fairly early on in the evening, so that was a little disappointing but otherwise, service has always been great here!
this place is a 9-iron from the office i go into 1 day a week. Â So today the boss ordered it up for the marathon marketing collab our group had and it wasn't too bad...on the plus, she insisted I take it home for my 4-y/o who devoured it for dinner.
There's better pizza out there imo, and granted, we only had the thin (which is a pretty "thick" thin by Chicago thin crust standards. Â Great sausage and great sauce but the bit-too-thick-and-doughy crust knocks off at least one star. Â A meager 3 spot bc there are so many other pizza's I'd rate higher.
MARK MY WORDS: Â There is no finer pizza place anywhere in the country. Â Not much else to say; the service is good enough (even when my dad insists on casually flirting with the exceedingly patient waitresses) and the place is comfy. Â I really haven't eaten anything else here besides the famous stuffed pizza, but why would you!? Â This place is far better than Gino's East (ew) or Lou Malnati's (passable). Â
I highly recommend this place to everyone I know, even those crazy New Yorkers who think cheesy cardboard qualifies as pizza, and I've never had anyone claim that I've steered them wrong.
What can you say, it's Giordano's Pizza. Of course the pizza is excellent. As far as this location goes, the service is excellent, the servers and hostess are very friendly. I would most definitely recommend this location. I Â have been to the one in Wheaton & i could not give it the same praise.
Review Source:We just had the BEST time at my celebration tonight! Everyone was so helpful and so very gracious!!! We must have had 30-40 people there, and the staff was never impatient or rude or non-helpful... on the contrary, they went above expections on food, service and even extras (like borrowing an extension cord for my dad's surprise slide show for me). Â Wow! Â They were great!!! Words cannot express my gratitude for good food and priceless memories! Although there was no "side room," they squared off a corner for us that worked perfectly, even on a Friday night!
Review Source:I have gotten delivery and take out here. I really enjoy their soup so when I'm not feeling that good I usually want some. The last time I ordered delivery from here they had forgotten something ( it think it was sauce - something small) I called them and the guy who answered knew it was me and had the delivery guy come back within 10 minutes and bring whatever it was. That really impressed me.
Review Source:Loved Giordano's before I was GF... had a wedding rehearsal dinner there this weekend and, having not been there in awhile, checked out the menu online to check out what I'd be able to eat. I settled on a salad, nothing special. When I get there, the server mentions to someone else that there is a GF pizza option! Huzzah! I order it, but it was not too great. It didn't seem like there was hardly any sauce on the pizza, but the crust must have soaked it all up because it was kinda soggy. The crispy crust edges also had a flavor reminiscent of sugar cookies, which was kinda weird. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise, and I am glad that they are catering to the GF crowd, but it wasn't my favorite. I think they are trying to do a deep-dish style crust that they are so famous for, but in execution, the thinner crusts just seem to work better for GF dough. I'm not giving up on you yet, Giordano's! But I would appreciate a revised crust recipe. :)
Review Source:What's so good about this place? It's not horrible but it's not great either. It's just there and I don't ever crave their pizza nor do I pass up a slice if it's free either. I like stuffed pizza once in a while but it's not my first choice but don't get me wrong. I still gave it 3 stars and that's not horrible. Maybe I've just been spoiled by authentic Chicago stuffed pizza.
Review Source:We met up with Dan and Heidi (hi kids!!) for a Friday night out of 'za and friendship (03/07/08).
We're anxious for the new Giordano's to open up in North Aurora soon, but in the meantime, since MK was jonesing some stuffed pie we made the trek up to SanCarlos and enjoyed a Large stuff Cheese and Sausage. Â
Giordano's is consistent. Â Pizza is their business and they are a Chicago institution so we've never had a problem there. Â We did have an appetizer order of mozzarella sticks and unfortunately I thought they tasted "institutional" (now being used negatively) and that's a shame. Â With all of that mozzarella in the back, I guess I hoped that they were cutting the cheese (har har) by hand and then deep-frying it fresh. Â Unfortunately they didn't. Â But listen, this is a fantastic meal by any measure.
Now, in the great pizza debates of history, this is NOT my favorite stuffed 'za (that would be Gino's East), but frankly there is NO bad pizza in life (except Chuck E. Cheese's). Â I had a leftover slice the next morning cold and it held up nicely as well.
Good times, good drinks and good za.
