unpretentious no-frills storefront that does an immense dual duty as a smoothie/ice cream joint and an american/pizza/middle eastern/falafel/platter joint. i guess, if you cover all bases, you'l pull in some money. i haven't tried the non-middle eastern options, but let me tell you. the baba ganoush is fabulous, as is the falafel, as is the fresh pita and hummus, and if you order a portion of the above, it'll be gigantic, with lots of room to share. the platters are big and fresh and satisfying. i hear the pizza is on the greasy side, but cannot comment since i have not tried it yet. my guess -- and i'd have to confirm this -- is that you're better off trying the middle eastern options if you go here.
under 10 an entree, just about. nice.
oh, slight caveat. they don't really serve tap water for free, which is a given in most joints. they will serve you water, depending on who you ask, and it's about the size of a shot glass. hope you didn't come thirsty.
Decided to give this place a second chance tonight and I couldn't be more disappointed. I ordered a pint of microwaved broth that they try to pass as soup and sell for $6. Everything is wayyy overpriced and the service isn't anything special. The last time I went for lunch with my two kids and the bill was $40, pretty sure I was overcharged but who knows, they charge $10 for a hot dog and a soda. With so many other similar options nearby we won't be back. I'm not sure why this place has any good reviews, that's just perplexing!
