House margarita is very good, calamari was cooked just right. We got a large, half Smokin Goodfella and half Margherita and it was great! Service friendly and prompt, we would definitely visit again.

Food was okay. Nothing special. With so many great options around, I don't really see why I would go back. I had the veal parmesean and it seemed like it was reheated. The rolls seemed like they were left over from last night.

Late night eats, cocktails and beers in Far North Plano? Yup. No kidding.

Great spot to just sit back and knock down a few cold ones.

The pizza is great - hand tossed but not cardboard like - woodfired works here.

They have a pretty extensive menu but do not expect more than just great pizza if you pop in after 11:30 PM. No worries the pizza is great.

The decor is passable, but oh well it's late and you are in the hinterlands of the
DEE-EFF-DUB by the way.

It is an after work landing spot of the various workers of the surrounding restaurants in Frisco and Plano. So the vibe is definitely very chill.

The service can be cold at the start but it warms up. Very attentive even after wave after wave of thirsty, tired yet wired young'uns looking to decompress.

So go here - and have slice and drink -- you will not be sorry.

This place was amazing!!!! The service was awesome and the food was out of this world. Best Italian food I had in Texas! This was my first time here and I can't wait to come back. We asked why there wasn't shrimp parmigiana on the menu and within 10min there was a plate in front of us which was to die for. Sal is awesome!!! This is a must try. Pizza....ravioli....chicken parm all excellent!!!!

Decent pie, excellent service. The waiter was clearly the highlight of this trip, as he was knowledgeable and just did his job very well.

The pizza, despite being a signature dish was good, but I likely would switch to a sandwich or other food if I went back.

Eh, this place was fine. It didn't blow me away but I didn't hate it either. Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner with hubs and another couple. The first thing I noticed was how loud it was... there was a live singer and she was good but dang was it loud! We were seated right away at a smallish square table..near the singer (ovey!). The restaurant itself is a good size with plenty of dining tables. Other than it being loud, I liked the look of the restaurant - NY Pizzeria feel and a nice big pizza oven to look at it.

We started with calamari and fried ravioli - - both were edible but not great. The calamari was tough and the presentation was boring (read: fried stuff thrown in a bowl). The ravioli was a bit more interesting but i wouldn't rush back for these. We then split two pizzas...Buffalo Chicken and well, I honestly don't remember the other one. The crust was thin, just the way I like it but both were just okay tasting... nothing overwhelming and a tad greasy (Fireside Pies is the still the reigning champ).

I was happy to try this place, but with other stellar pizza joints in the area, I won't rush back. Oh and a tip for the restaurant - invest in some raised pizza plates - trying to get two pizzas on the small table I mentioned above was a bit tricky.

Awesome pizza! If you're tired of the disgusting, thick, pie-like, soggy, cheese-filled crud that passes for "pizza" in most of the US, and you're looking for some thin-crust goodness, head on over to Goodfellas.

The pizzas are handmade, thin, and delicious. They're prepared and fired up in a huge oven visible from most of the dining area. It's probably the best pizza in the DFW area and the second-best I've had worldwide.

When ordered by themselves, the pizzas are on the pricey side (although not too much so, and I guess a better pizza does indeed warrant a higher price). Try the lunch special, which offers a slightly smaller pizza with a salad starter. The salads are good too!

On the downside, they regularly get my order wrong (although they always make good by giving a discount on the bill, even when I say that's unnecessary), and it's very dark inside.

I really enjoy Goodfellas. Their pizza is fresh and you can watch if being cooked in their woodfired oven. My friend and I have gone their for dinner and drinks and we have always had a great time. The bar staff are really friendly and the prices are good compared to the level of pizza that you get.

This is some of the best pizza you can get anywhere, period! The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the bar is well stocked. Great after mid-night stop for a bite and a night cap, after everything in Frisco closes.

I feel the need to update my previous review for Goodfella's and remove a star from my previous rating. We ate here a second time- this time on a Friday evening. The restaurant was pretty packed but we were seated quickly. It was clear our waitress was new as we seemed to know more about the menu than she did and we had only eaten here one other time. I had the chicken parmigiana- the poor thing was drowning in red sauce. The flavor was pretty good but it was really hard to get through the gallons of red sauce that was on my plate. My friend had a chicken dish that I can't recall the name of but it was not good at all. She hardly touched it and then we ended up sharing my dish. I will say this- the portions were large. The waitress came by and saw our mostly uneaten good and just asked if we were finished- she did not comment at all about the uneaten food or even ask us how it was. I can't fault her too much for this since we didn't speak up and say - "Hey this food sucks". There was an issue on the bill which the manner rectified very quickly. He seemed on top of things but it was a busy Friday night. We will go back since this place is so close to home but it will be on a weeknight and we will be sure to order more carefully.

Great pies and friendly service. Best part was when they let my son toss some pizza dough! Cute as heck and fun for him!

Food is excellent, especially the Pizza - I haven't been able to find anything within a 5 mile radius that can beat this!

I have had some concerns w/customer service at this restaurant but the owner/management have been very proactive in addressing my concerns and are very committed to their customers.

More like "Bad Fellas". If you know anything about real pizza or Italian food, don't come here. It's greasy and the cooks are lazy in their attempt to pass this off as fine dining.

The "sweet tea" was Lipton out of the fountain. Come on...this is Texas. Brew your ice tea.

The "baked clams" were frozen, stuffed with breadcrumbs and were drenched in butter. Not "butter/wine" sauce. Butter. Non salted butter. Gross.

I will admit that the pizza crust was "ok" and cooked well. The cheese was greasy, but we were able to finish off the pizza.

Long and short, go somewhere else. There are tons of places around this joint. Do yourself a favor.

My husband and I are new to the state so we've been trying different places throughout the area. We tried Goodfella's on a whim and have been very pleased.

My husband normally orders a side Caesar salad for himself, priced at $2.99, and is a great amount of food for the price. I usually order the philly cheese steak sandwich and am pleased with it the majority of the time. There are times when it is a bit greasy but I can easily overlook that because of the fantastic taste. And for an italian place, the french fries are great! Perfectly seasoned and are crispy.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza one time, which is the only pizza we've tried. It was "ok". I felt like it was missing... something. I'm not sure what but I think it needed something else. We have also ordered the linguine with clams in red sauce and that was very good also.

The service has always been good, even on crowded nights. We've never been dissatisfied. I highly recommend checking them out.

If you visit on a weeknight (M-Th), you'll find it pretty quiet. The nights they have entertainment, it can be quite loud and it may be hard to hold a conversation.

I just have to say the inside is really cute and festive but I felt like the food was very overpriced. My husband had an Italian Hero sub sandwich and it was 11.99.. really 11.99 for a sandwich? The pizza was good but really 14 dollars for spinach and artichoke 12'? The only time I would go back is if my friends suggest it. I will not be going back by my own choice.

I had my 21st birthday here with some very good friends of mine. We had the Smokin' Goodfella's Pizza and the Grape Pizza. The crust on the pizza was perfect and the pizzas are loaded with toppings. Very delicious. Our waiter was awesome and checked on us every few minutes. Hell, he even bought me a shot. Overall, the night and atmosphere was great. Will be heading back there in the future!

I've tried this place 3 times now - STRIKE OUT! Who knows if the food is good or not because the service is HORRIBLE!!! I actually did get a pizza once, I had to go up to the bartender and order it. An hour later it showed up on our table. I tried at lunch during the week, around 6 on a week night, and a late night on a Friday. Sure there are a lot of people hanging out here late nights on weekends, and they are all drunk, but I'm quite sure they didn't get any drinks here because with about 200 guests, there were only 3 waitstaff (including the bar tender). Oh there was a Manager too though a lot of good he did.
I'm giving this place NO stars. I sincerely hope they go out of business so that a legitimate, organized, customer oriented place that has decent food can move in.

Pizza was good. I agree that the size could be larger. My pasta vodka sauce was good. The pasta was soggy and disappointed with the bread. It was 9/11 and they had an awesome tribute and for that I will be back. I walked in in my flight attendant uniform straight from work to get take out and ended up staying to enjoy.

Love their pizzas! I have honestly never tried anything else on their menu so I can't speak for the rest of their food, I am a believer in ordering what they say they are good at which is woodfire pizza! Seriously love it. I have done dine in and take out and while dinning in the staff was amazing. We went in for a late lunch and our three kids 4 and under were very cranky and the owner came out an tossed pizzza dough, gave them the dough to play with, and made them bread sticks to keep them happy for us! the food was good.

Plus after 11 all pizza's are 1/2 off!

Eaten here twice now and here's my thoughts...

I really want this restaurant to become one of my favorites because it's local and not a chain. Love the atmosphere, especially on a Friday night when they have live music. But here's a couple of niggles...

Food...
The dishes I tried were bland, the lasagna was not the "home style generous portion" the menu stated and although you say it is made fresh daily- and I have no reason to doubt - it tastes frozen. The Chicken Goodfellas was bland too. Didn't see any scallions, red onions or shallots in the dish and the sliced garlic was raw. Why not slice and saute the above into the dish for color and texture ?

Sally Pie ? disappointing and bland again. May "fill the room with aroma" but certainly doesn't with taste. Crust was good though.

Bruschetta ? excellent, especially during happy hour, a real bargain and full of flavor.

Service...
When I am paying $14 for an entree I want to be OFFERED fresh grated Parmesan, not have to ask for it and not have the cheap plastic parmesan served in the glass shakers "Ci-Ci's Pizza" style. I also want salt and pepper on my table too without asking for it. Your chefs seriously under-season. When I get a second beer, please take away the first one if the glass is empty and pick up a few Stella glasses for serving Stella in.

Will go back again, but the food has to improve for it to become "my local"

My family of four came in for Friday dinner when there was a wait but we opted for a high top table in the bar which was great even though it prevented us from seeing the live singers. The music was very nice and it makes this a place I want to come back to without the kids and enjoy live singers. The food and service were excellent - no issues at all. We all had pasta and it was fantastic -especially the Rigatoni alla Vodka Sauce!

If you want one flaw, I know it's summer time in Texas and all, but the red wine is served too warm and I wish they'd keep it cooler or chill the glass or something. This problem isn't unique to Goodfella's. Thanks to Dom, Nicole and Mike who took care of us in the bar and we look forward to our next visit!

The wife and I originally had plans to visit Fireside Pies, but we didn't get out until around 7pm, and the wait was going to be too long.

We both remember seeing a Woodfired Pizza place in Frisco off Preston Road, so we made our way over and decided to give it a try.

The hostess was very nice and cordial, and helped keep my 4.5 year old occupied while we waiting for a table. They had live entertainment (female singer). I'm not sure if this is an everyday sort of thing, but it was nice and added to the ambiance.

The wife and I are both pizza lovers, so we were curious how good the pizza we be. We were both very impressed! Our server was Laura, and she was as nice as could be, and was extremely attentive the entire evening.

All in all, we were glad we made the decision to drop by this evening and look forward to dining there again sometime soon.

We got a pizza a couple months ago and it was pretty good. The whole menu looked great so we went back for drinks and to dine in. The dining room was full, said the hostess, who added "You can eat at the bar, they'd be happy to help you". But it took quite some time for someone to take a drink order. The restaurant had open tables but they were clearly in the weeds.

The braciole was tough, chewy and dry. Really needed to be cooked longer in gravy. There was some discussion with the bartender about styles and regions of Italy, but really, is there an excuse for serving tough chewy meat? And the lasagna, I can't believe I'm saying this, but it was all cheese and no noodle! Two tiny layers of lasagna noodle that were way smaller than the dish it was served in. Basically I was served a big bowl of white melted cheese. Not even browned on top. Just bad execution all the way around.

I may go back for pizza if I'm right in the area, but I think there are better options for pastas and italian specialties. Plus it was loud and pretty warm in there. I don't care if it's a busy Saturday night; that's when you need to be at your best and Goodfellas clearly wasn't.

We have been in before and thought it was ok. i was craving pasta so we came back to try it again. started off with flat sodas :/ ...my son got the wings...hes an expert and said they were the best . I got the eggplant parmigiana ...sooo good! my boyfriend got the lunch pizza...cant really mess it up. oddly enough the server was clearly new to the industry, and we run a restuarant, so we were understanding. The lady that seemed to be the manager??? didnt help the server out at all and wasnt even in the store for a while. being a manager myself i was annoyed that a new server would be left alone. wanted to talk to her but she was just walking in when we were driving off. we liked the owner last time we were in . but im sure he cant be there all the time

I've been here for lunch a few times now and like it a little less each time I visit. The food is ok, but is largely hit or miss. The first time I visited I had the Tuscany Salad which was very good. The salad itself was huge with a TON of toppings and I thought I had found a new lunch staple. I have since tried the House Salad with eggplant (which is depressingly small considering the price) and a few of the pizzas with not-so-great-results. I'm honestly not a fan of the pizzas that I've tried despite that being their main feature. The flavor combinations never seem quite right and the crust is just kind of "there" - not thick, not really thin, not flavorful....just there. The most recent disappointment was the Quattro Stagioni which was salty to the point of being practically inedible.

The space itself is really cute and they have a nice ambiance. Service (at least at lunch) is friendly but painfully slow. Lunch takes over an hour every time which is surprising considering it's never really packed in there.

I'd like to think that there's some great dishes on the menu there, but I haven't found them to date. I'm sure I'll try again at some point due to the close proximity to the office, but I won't be making a point to return any time soon.

Bads: Staff is a bit slow and the beer selection is your usual weak selection.

What a beating. First off, we were one of 4 tables in the place and service was slow. Secondly, my partner and I went with another couple thinking we could all eat together. The pizza itself was a small personal, not enough to feed 4. We had no idea it would be that small. We ordered an appetizer and it came with more pieces than the menu suggested, which was nice but not enough to help satisfy 4. Everything was over priced. We ended up having to order wings to help us all out and then again there was enough for 2 people and that was over priced. Never again.

First off, they had Hoegarden (German beer) so that's an automatic plus.
Their Pizza Alla Vodka is AMAZINGGGGG!
The Mediterranian is so so.
The Great Grape was flavorful & different.

Overall, a good spot for a pizza fix.

This place is awesome!

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Goodfellas while driving around looking for a place to eat we've never been (trust me we eat out quite a bit). Saw this place and decoded to check it out and glad we did!

We ordered their "fish bowl" which was $16 so I figured it must be pretty damn good- that plus the 2 person minimum to order the drink and man oh man, this thing was strong AND HUGE! totally worth the cash!! It IS an actual fishbowl!

For our meal, we got salads and the penne vodka sauce pasta which was incredible! Didn't care too much for the salad but that pasta was so delish I tried to make my own lol.

A far as the service/attitude, our waiter was new, but still very attentive but a little hesitant at times. The managers and owners are hilarious and make a point to introduce themselves AND come over to talk to you throughout the meal in genuine Italian, mob-style accents.

The guy making the pizza even came out and put on a show for the group of kids at the table behind us.

Oh, and did I mention they're very affordable?! Can get better than that.

Overall, this is a great place to go whether you're looking for a drink at the bar or a night out with the fam.

Several reviews have mentioned the owner and I finally got to see him on my last visit and I was very impressed with his enthusiasm and how he really wanted to connect with his customers. I don't think you see that much these days as conglomerates take over our dining experiences. For me, that elevates this place a bit beyond the norm.

We have tried the pizza and pasta an all have been delicious. Sure, maybe they are a dollar or two more than you average neighborhood joint but you have to remember that this 'hood is PLANO. I am completely fine with supporting a business like this, however, especially with flavors as pleasurable as those we have tasted at Goodfella's. I will warn you, though. If you get a dish with onions and garlic you will clear a room with your breath, but it will be worth it.

The only negative that I have had here is that the service can be slow at times. Most recently, it took us a while to get our drinks and to order. Our waiter blamed the bartender saying that "he works on his own timeframe and you can't say anything or it will piss him off". This may be accurate but it's not really a secret you should be sharing with your customers.

We will definitely be back when we want pizza or pasta while in the Plano/Frisco area.

The interesting thing about the Dallas restaurant market is that marginal places don't last long. The competition knocks out the bottom end of the market pretty fast. I think this establishment is in danger of closing. :-)

My wife and I visited on a weekday for lunch. Service was "OK" but not even approaching the "attentive" or "good" levels. We both had side salads to start and split a pizza. Both salads and pizza were adequate but not special nor outstanding.

I was pretty disappointed in the pizza -- as a place with "Woodfired Pizza" in the name I was rather unimpressed. Again, it was "OK" not "good".

I'll honestly make no efforts to visit again. Right next door is the really good Five Guys Burger and Fries and on the other side is the TOTALLY AMAZING Holy Grail Pub -- http://holygrailpub.com. Why go for "Meh" when you can get "Wow!"

We had a 50% off coupon from the Passbook so that took half the pain away. :-)

Owner (I think) "refused" to let people leave once they stepped inside. He insisted they wait for a table no matter how many people they had. He literally ran after another group that had left. It only took about 5 minutes for him to setup a table for us even though they were quite busy. We found it quite hilarious.

Food was really good. Waitress was okay, but didn't seem to care that much about our table (we were all 20s).

I give this place 5 stars because of two things: the food, and the owner guy. One of the people in our group was on a diet so he didn't order anything. The owner saw this and came sit down with us. Once he learned that the guy was only eating fruits or vegetables, the owner went to the kitchen and sauted him some spinach... and gave it to him on the house! He said he didn't want to make him feel left out and have to watch us eat just because he was on a diet. I thought that was really cool. And this place gets all stars and word of mouth recommendations from me because of it.

A-OK - that's exactly what this was. Cut the prices by 40% and it's 5 stars but at $13 for chicken parmigiana at a neighborhood joint, it's too much. My wife's ravioli was $15. That's fine if we're wanting a nice sit-down, white napkin meal, but this place focuses more on their bar than their restaurant.

Food was good. Service was good. Prices just seemed too high for what it was.

Great new pizza joint here in Plano. I feel privileged to be the first Yelper of this restaurant.

The manager or owner really gets out there and mingles with his customers. He took our kids and, using real pizza dough, showed them how to make a pizza. Even had one of the kids come into the kitchen and place the cheese and tomato sauce onto the pie, and then put it into the brick oven.

The pizzas are all 12-inch and brick oven baked. I asked about the sauce, and they said it's actually flown in from Italy.

The bar was lively, as was the kitchen. The brick oven is out in the open, which is a nice touch.

They really take care of the kids that show up. We saw a piece of pizza dough sticking on a table from being used to teach another set of kids about pizza-making. Can you say "rare" for this level of customer service and attention to detail?

The pizza was outstanding. And the kids asked for second helpings of their chicken fingers.

Oh, and they have free WiFi.

In conclusion, this place is.... NICE.
