The first order of business after moving into our new condo (yes, boyfriend and I now live together in sin; congratulations are in order!) was finding some cheap, greasy, yummy Chinese food as close to us as possible. Hunched over cardboard boxes, watching our TV that only plays DVDs for the time being, we dug into some Great Wall takeout last Friday night (and again this Friday, just to give them the benefit of the doubt.)

This is, without question, the blandest Chinese food I've ever tasted. I didn't even think that was possible considering the amount of sauces that are typically dumped onto Americanized Chinese food. I've tried the Subgum (chicken, pork, shrimp, scallops and vegetables) and my standard Shrimp & Broccoli, and both had absolutely no taste. Even asking for the shrimp & broccoli to be made spicy did not mitigate the absolute lack of taste. Also, the chicken was slimy and the pork was tough. The fried rice was really dry. Boyfriend reported that he enjoyed his General Tso's Chicken....but, to quote him, he "likes everything he eats."

Portions are huge, prices are inexpensive. They deliver and they're very conveniently located....BUT, since we spied a Best Food a few minutes away, Great Wall will only be on the menu in cases of dire emergency.
