The Grill is my "go to" restaurant in Beaumont for fine dining and/or relaxed cocktail scene. Very good menu, well executed, in an upscale atmosphere.
Chef Terry Bell runs the kitchen brigade while Chris runs the front of the house.
The menu is upscale and each night there are specials based on the availability of quality product. Example: tonight specials included Yellow Tail tuna, surf and turf ravioli (wagu and lobster), and the 18oz bone-in ribeye. Â The most exotic dish I have had here was the marrow canoe. All good.
The atmosphere is equally appealing. You will have four choices of locations to dine or relax: main dining room, inside bar, sports bar, or outside dining. I have tried them all. Â There is a location for every mood. Sports bar is very popular if you are looking to make connections ;-)
Only slight negative has been occasional slow service. I've experienced this a few times. Any restaurant that lets my drink go dry cannot have 5 stars.
I'll be Bach.
I was highly disappointed with my first and only visit here. Â I went with my family for my birthday hoping for a nice steak. I was excited when I read the menu and special insert of the pride taken in selecting their beef, etc... Â Well that was all fine and dandy except for the fact that they couldn't cook it! Â My "medium" steak came out of the kitchen thoughoughly brown, not a spot of pink. I'm not normally the type to send a steak back on a whim, but for $32 they should at least know how to cook it. Â I did send it back and what I got after that was a RARE steak, COLD in the middle! Â I tried to eat some of it but I couldn't stomach it. They offered to put it back on the grill but I didn't have all night to wait for them to learn how to cook a steak, plus my family had already finished eating. Â All the consolation they could offer was to 50% discount the steak. Â So essentially we had to pay $16 for an unedible steak and I had to go eat somewhere else after. Â Plus they wasted 2 steaks. Â They should have at least taken the whole steak off the bill, and perhaps offered a complimentary dessert. Â I have had better service (and better steaks) at Outback. Â So I will not be going back to the Grill, ever.
