The Grill is my "go to" restaurant in Beaumont for fine dining and/or relaxed cocktail scene. Very good menu, well executed, in an upscale atmosphere.
Chef Terry Bell runs the kitchen brigade while Chris runs the front of the house.
The menu is upscale and each night there are specials based on the availability of quality product. Example: tonight specials included Yellow Tail tuna, surf and turf ravioli (wagu and lobster), and the 18oz bone-in ribeye.  The most exotic dish I have had here was the marrow canoe. All good.
The atmosphere is equally appealing. You will have four choices of locations to dine or relax: main dining room, inside bar, sports bar, or outside dining. I have tried them all.  There is a location for every mood. Sports bar is very popular if you are looking to make connections ;-)
Only slight negative has been occasional slow service. I've experienced this a few times. Any restaurant that lets my drink go dry cannot have 5 stars.
    I'll be Bach.

I was highly disappointed with my first and only visit here.  I went with my family for my birthday hoping for a nice steak. I was excited when I read the menu and special insert of the pride taken in selecting their beef, etc...  Well that was all fine and dandy except for the fact that they couldn't cook it!  My "medium" steak came out of the kitchen thoughoughly brown, not a spot of pink. I'm not normally the type to send a steak back on a whim, but for $32 they should at least know how to cook it.  I did send it back and what I got after that was a RARE steak, COLD in the middle!  I tried to eat some of it but I couldn't stomach it. They offered to put it back on the grill but I didn't have all night to wait for them to learn how to cook a steak, plus my family had already finished eating.  All the consolation they could offer was to 50% discount the steak.  So essentially we had to pay $16 for an unedible steak and I had to go eat somewhere else after.  Plus they wasted 2 steaks.  They should have at least taken the whole steak off the bill, and perhaps offered a complimentary dessert.   I have had better service (and better steaks) at Outback.  So I will not be going back to the Grill, ever.

We've been here several times. This time, I bragged all day to our guests about how great this place is and yada yada yada...which it has always been up until tonight. The waitress was long winded and described this dish that got me very excited. When it came, it was nothing like what she described and exactly like what two other people at the table ordered. She told me, and the rest of the table, it was different but the truth was painfully clear. Top it off, it was cold. Not just a little less than hot...cold cold cold. The only thing on the plate that was hot was the mashed potatoes. As it always seems to be, when my meal is less than expected, the server always asks how things are. So I told her...it's not what you described, not what I expected and it's cold. So she walks away and comes back and tells me that her manager told her to tell me that it's cold because I ordered it medium rare. So, apparently to her manager, medium rare means cold. Even if it did, it would have no bearing on the carrots being cold. And the sauce tasted like it had half a pound of salt in each spoonful. The steak that three of the four of us got, which was reported to be "fork tender" wasn't. It wasn't tough, but you certainly needed a knife. What makes it worse is that I had this dish the last time we came and it looked completely different, from the cut of meat to the texture. Then the waitress tells me that if I don't like it her manager said I can have a free desert. If I was concerned about a free desert I probably wouldn't be eating at a place like this in the first place. I don't want anything for free, I want to pay for what I eat and I want the kitchen to prepare it properly, especially for this kind of money. Oh, and the meal was supposed to come with some sort of a vegetable medley with carrots, squash and zucchini. I don't like that stuff so I asked for carrots instead. So everyone gots carrots instead of just me and I got my carrots with an extra side of carrots. Just an off night for the grill? Maybe, but it just goes to show you how hard it is to find a locally owned restaurant that can serve consistently good food. I'm disappointed in you guys.

We had a special opportunity to sample the menu at The Grill and they delivered a top notch, first rate culinary experience. Last night the Grill hosted a wine tasting dinner with a series of Amizetta Vineyards wines, which were all delicious. The series of entres included sea scallops with a golden risotto, lamb chops with a potato and celery root layered wonder, duck confit with canalinni beans, wagu beef short ribs with marscapone polenta and an over the top tres leches cake with goat milk caramel sauce. If you see any of these on your menu, hit the bid without reservation. It was a fabulous evening of great food and wine.

The food is the tastiest in Beaumont, I love the atmosphere, the wine list is like something you would find in Houston or Dallas, and the owners are the nicest people.

I really like this place. Not crowded and a nice atmosphere. Outside bar offers great drinks. I'll be going back.

Tucked into the west end is this beautiful Beaumont establishment. Super high quality food and great atmosphere. I usually stick to the separate back area called The Cabana, which is a small intimate bar always staffed by a great bartender. The best part about The Grill is the amazing patio with its couches and comfy chairs. They've got the heaters out there right now so you can still be comfortable on a chilly night. Live music on some nights and always a great place to impress a date.

Great food and great atmosphere.  If you're looking for a place in Beaumont, TX that feels like a totally different city, The Grill is your place.  The Cabana (bar) and patio are what really make this place worth revisiting.  On a night with a cool breeze (rare in Bmt.), this is the place to enjoy a drink and listen to live music, generally jazz.
