A lot of thought and effort has been put into this place: this is obvious. There are many great things about the institution, labor transparency for one. It is important to me that I am able to see people making my food in front of me and that these people are not removed entirely from the visible. However, the food is just above acceptable: they do what they can in the little space and tools that they have.
The real issue here is the turnover of the staff. I feel like there are three or four core staff members I see all the time and they appear fairly competent. However, there are always these bumbling folk that I never see for too long who screw order up.
I love their beer selection and am myself part of their beer club. It can be a slippery slope for me however from big mug happy to I need to leave before all these bougie people judge me too hard.
Nice little coffee shop to meet someone, they have soy and almond milk, if you are vegan or lactose-intolerant.
I got a hot chocolate with almond milk it was pretty good. They serve it in a clear beer mug, I thought that was cute!
Food... felt overpriced. Not some place I would come if you are hungry. The "flatbread" is basically a pita bread base.
They have a bar section on the other side of he coffee area.
