Good place to go have a drink. Â My friend and I swung by for a couple drinks after dinner. Â We knew what we wanted before we walked in the door... Johnnie Walker Blue.. We had a glass or two and went on our way.
The waitress was friendly and took good care of us. Â
Atmosphere is hip and cool.. I'm sure it'd be a good place to hang out with a group of friends.
This used to be our go to place to meet friends while we were in town. I was horribly disappointed that they did away with the membership and now you can't smoke inside. Â If we wanted to smoke outside we could stay home and save money with homemade cocktails. Â This place still has an awesome atmosphere and the hookah flavors are awesome.
Review Source:Im hooked to this place! Heat is the kinda place where a older person like me can go and fit right in! The prices are more expensive then others places but it's classy and offers way more then others so it's worth it! The wait staff is quick and very friendly! Nice place to just relax.
Review Source:Just updating the review, and I'm glad to say that the heat went from three stars to four. Â Here's the reason:
Previously when I went to the heat I dreaded the experience. Â My friends and I would order a drink and we fully expected to wait 20 minutes to see it. Â On empty glasses we would wait another 10 minutes just to get served again.
Now it seems that the bar has focused on service! Â The past two times I went there the service was excellent. Â The waitresses actually interacted with my crew and I and were bubbly. Â On one occasion the waitress heard I was a beer explorer and asked a few probing questions before suggesting something from their menu. Â She did a great job of figuring out what I would like as they didn't have Guinness on tap. Â It seems that the Heat has finally started cooking on the places where it counts.
I've gone from dreading getting  dragged there to looking forward to a great experience!
Prior review:
* The heat has been in Wichita for a while selling Hookah and Cigars and recently due to the smoking ban in Kansas has turned into a private club.  This stated, it is one of the only places you can still enjoy a smoke  and a drink inside.
The place is trendy, with comfortable seats and a decor that fits the mood. Â The smell of flavored hookah smoke fills the air, although the ventilation is good enough to keep the air clear. Â Servers run around and there is a food menu, although I've never tried it myself.
The fee for a membership at the time runs $10 and with one membership you can bring two guests, so I signed up so myself, a lady friend and my brother could hang out here.  Being here before we knew that the place was great  except for one thing, the service.  At one point we had boycotted the place alltogether because our servers (on multiple occasions) were slow to get to us or would have to come back to get our drink orders straight because they had forgotten them.  I think a majority of this comes from hiring from friends of the co-workers and a lack of follow up by the management.
This time we were pleasantly surprised. Â Although the service is far from A+ rating, they have come from a F- to a C. Â What I mean by that is instead of waiting 15 to 30 minutes for a drink refill, we went to about 5 minutes. Â My reference for standard of service is when a drink is about 3/4 gone the server should be around to ask if the customer needs another one.
The Hookah is good, and there is no doubt the service is friendly. Â In my book, this place could be a raving success, and it definitely has a loyal niche within Wichita. Â I give it 3 stars because in a bar industry, service is king, and this is where the Heat has the most opportunity. Â
The experience is worth trying at least once, bring some friends and try some flavored smoke. Â I hear the blue mist is great, although grape mint is good too!
Great time on a Saturday night. Staff was very pleasant. Victoria was our waitress. She did a fantastic job. Request her if she is working. The drinks were reasonable.
We sat outside so smoke was not and issue, but even inside did not seem overwhelming. Cigars were limited but fairly priced.
Will be returning on my next visit to Wichita.
