Heil's Place

This place is ok. Nothing great about it and nothing terrible about it. But be careful of the time when you're there. As soon as midnight hits on the weekend, some "characters" start arriving. And thats when fights almost always happen. So get out before trouble starts and you'll have a good night

I disagree with the other reviews. This place isn't all that bad.

I can't speak for busy nights when live bands are playing, but all the times I've been there (which has been plenty) I haven't seen one bar fight or shitty regular. Maybe I got lucky every time, but I doubt it.

Just go on an off night, it's quiet and relaxed and the food isn't that bad. It's a good place to sit around and chill. Plus it's a smoking bar (unless that recently changed), so if you hate freezing in the winter or potentially losing your seat, this is the place to be. I will hold back my rants about crybabies about people who smoke in bars... get over it.

I really can't put my finger on it, but I just don't like Heil's.  Service is OK I suppose, but I just don't like to walk in the door.  Plenty of parking, and the location isn't to bad, right on the border of Scranton and Dunmore.  

If you like The Farside Comics and you're a guy, you're in luck.  The men's rooms is wallpapered in them.  If you like bar fights you may also be in luck.  I have seen several fights start here, none due to the bathroom decor.

There is an upstairs that I rarely see open.  But This place does have live entertainment on Monday nights so if you are not at The Bog for open mic, this is the other option for an eventful start of the week.

I don't really know what else to say, so if you are free on a Monday night, check it out.  There are worse places you could go to than Heil's Place.
