Great pub eats and an expanded menu led to a great evening last night. We ate things from all over the menu. One also had the RazMoto made with Raspberry Liqueur and locally-sourced mint. (Not enough mint for my tastes but good anyway.)
I had the  Short-rib Beef Stew, substituting sweet potato fries for the mashers so I am not sure what the standard stew would have been like served normal pub style but I thought it was very good. The rest of the part had a variety of dishes including the Bangers and Mash, Steak Fajitas, and Buffalo Meatloaf. All were very good and well-presented.
My buddy and I dined at Henry's Pub during the week at lunch. Â The beer selection was a little non traditional, and was populated with micro brews from the local area. Â Although I can appreciate the opportunity to try new beers, when the names do little to offer explanation of what they are, it would help to have an educated wait staff to belp guide you.
My friend and I both had the French Onion Soup, which was accompanied by the traditional thick cheese top.
I enjoyed the salmon sandwich, and although it was very good, the size and shape of the salmon made it difficult to maneuver. Â
I really like the ambiance of the restaurant; albeit it could easily cross into being an outdated environment.
Overall, Henry's is a good place to check out, and I would totally go back!
The food is consistently good, as is the service, with exception of the bar. Don't eat in the bar area if you want the good service, one woman who bartends isn't familiar with the menu, or even that they offer a gluten free menu for people who need it. Maybe this explains her "I'm doing you a favor by serving you" attitude. Her drinks were not very good either, so stick to the beer!
Review Source:I have such mixed feeling about Henry's, at one time it was a regular stop for my Husband & I. We loved it! Had many a special meal there with friends, family, and co-workers. If you read social media here & on other rating sites you will clearly see they had a rough patch with mostly staff ( front of house & in the kitchen ) . It seems they are doing well by most diners now which is great for Downtown.
I have a "3 times your out" policy, IMO unless your a complete jerk or there's food quality issues I give a place 3 strikes before I move on. So..after a break my husband and I went back last week. It was a late lunch and a sunny afternoon.
It wasn't very busy and we were seated quickly, the waitress was okay- the food was MEH, not terrible just not great. Can I ask why no one grills Reubens ? You know,
butter the rye on the outside and grill both sides? Why is it like dry toast? The salad greens appeared to be wilted & full of stems. Fries big and kind of grainy dry in the middle. But nothing was overly bad or overly good. The beer's cold, refills quick, tables are clean.
I will go back, but I am still in search of another Go -To place Downtown that is as good as what Henry's was a few years ago.
Maybe it was a bad time to go but we went for dinner at about 6 on a Friday evening. Â The wait for a table wasn't too long since there were only 2 of us but we did wait quite a while for our food. Â My husband got the fish with mango sauce special. Â Besides the fish being postage stamp size, he said there was nothing special about the sauce and couldn't even taste the mango. Â I had the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. Â My dinner's portion size was good, the chimchurri sauce had seen better times. Â It looked like something green had dried up. Â Nothing to make us want to go back
Review Source:The hubs and I have always gone to Henry's for lunches and had solid experiences. We suggested going there last night (A Friday) with some friends. The place was understandably packed. Henry's does not take reservations so we waited for 40 minutes for a table. Pretty standard for a Friday evening.
When we were seated, we had a great waitress. Our friend ordered dessert first when he found out they were running low on bread pudding. It threw the waitress for a bit of a loop but she was a trooper and brought it out first.
We moved on to the app - the Irish nachos which were pub chips with cheddar cheese, bacon and jalepeno. It was decent but not worth the calories for me.
I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich but without the cheese. The menu mentions a balsamic dressing which I didn't see any hint of on my sandwich. It was basically grilled veggies in a cheap baguette. My side order was the sweet potato fries but they needed a little more time in the fryer to crisp up. The flavor was good but the fries were limp.
The hubs ordered the NY strip. He was happy with his order but did mention the mashed potatoes were a little light on seasoning - I.e. salt.
One of our friends ordered the same thing and his wife ordered the chicken carbonara.
Again noting the busy night, it took about 45 minutes to get our food. In the future we will come back but not on a Friday night. They just didn't seem to totally have it together to handle the crowd.
ok food.  service on second visit was horrible---waited 30 minutes for food (and we have a 10 month old baby with us)- waitress apologized by giving some long-winded explanation that the "kitchen was slammed....and they would rip her a new one if she  got on them about taking so long..." I pretty much stopped listening, the excuse was so long.  Funny thing is, my husband's meal (bangers and mash) wasn't even hot---which makes us think it was maybe waitress' fault and not the kitchen. have had a better experience there once before---not sure I would give it another shot- I think it is a bit overpriced for what it is. The atmosphere is weird too...
Review Source:Henry's serves up some good food at fairly reasonable prices, and our server was knowledgable and helpful. Â Our son loved his spaghetti (indeed, he wanted me to give the place *more* than 5 stars, just based on his meal). Â My husband pronounced the Wild Game Bangers and Mash "very, very good," and we enjoyed some tasty local beers. Â I can't give the place 5 stars, though, because the fish and chips that I had were good, but certainly not great. Â For starters, I find it odd that each of the three pieces of fish seemed to be the exact same length, width, and size. Â Is it pressed fish or something? Â The batter was okay, as were the fries. Â I've had better, though, and I was expecting a great pub meal like I've had in Britain or elsewhere in the U.S., and it just didn't live up to my expectations. Â Nevertheless, the food was hot and fresh; and overall, it was good.
Review Source:I debated with myself long and hard about giving Henry's a five-star review but I just can't bring myself to do it on just one visit. Â In my opinion, to be a five-star restaurant the joint has to deliver first rate food and service consistently over time. Â But, if we get the chance to come back a time or two and our experience is as good as it was today, I'll definitely raise my rating.
Henry's has a very comfortable atmosphere in it's old, downtown building complete with lots of old woodwork and it high ceilings. Â The food was very good--I had the Angus burger while Mary had the Salmon burger--both were cooked perfectly. Â Service was quick and attentive although not a real standout. Â
If we ever have the opportunity to spend some serious time around Loveland, this place could definitely become one of our regular haunts.
WOW. Whoever owns this place knows how to run a restaurant AND hire great staff!
I ate here three times in three days, two lunches and a dinner. Â All were terrific, punctuated with excellent service.
The salads are EXCELLENT, as is the gluten free menu (YAY!) Â My only sadness was that their only cider is Strongbow, which I find a little weak and sweet. Â But, seriously, that's hardly worth mentioning.
On Friday evening I ordered a take-out meal and sat at the bar while it was being prepared. Â I've seen a LOT of bartenders and wait staffs, this one was like a well oiled machine! Â The blonde bartender really knew her stuff, was able to juggle MANY things concurrently, and is a prize. Â GIVE THAT GIRL A RAISE!
The waitresses were so professional, but also very friendly. Â Really stellar. Â It's obvious the management of this place is very good.
Make certain you try the sweet potato fries - they're wonderful! Â And the Thai Salad! Â And the Spinach Salad! Â And the Sourdough Burger (with GF bread)
I could go on and on. Â YUM!
I continue to be amazed by Henry's Pub and their menu. I have repeatedly been impressed and the food makes my taste buds dance. This quaint pub provides an environment that is perfect for a casual night out. It does get a bit noisy at times. The Walnut-Gorgonzola Salad with steak is my favorite. I like my steak cooked medium-rare, and I have always received the steak cooked just like how I like it. I recommend this place to anyone.
Review Source:Cant believe I havent reviewed Henry's yet!! This place is in my opinion the best restaurant in all of northern CO. I know that is a huge statement to make in an area of the country that has more restaurants then people but I stand by it. And its in Loveland!! The atmosphere is great, very classy without being stuffy and over the top. The wait staff has never been anything short of fantastic. The food... The food is amazing, everything is cooked perfectly, never had a bad dish. They even have Grimm Brothers beer on tap. Love it! Try anything with blue cheese on it, salad, burger, steak, its the best. When I first moved to Loveland I lost a lot of hope that I would find a great place to eat and hang out. Then I found Henry's, its like my second home.
Review Source:Downtown Loveland is booming with new stores, breweries and restaurants, but for us it has become our new destination for drinking. Henry's pub advertises, on their website, that they have the largest selection of alcohol in the area and that's all we needed to see to give them a chance.
Atmosphere: Â Located in historical down-town Loveland, Henry's pub is a small but inviting brick building. Inside, the dark, cherry-stained wood walls and warm colors gives it a very comfortable, yet masculine appearance. There is a variety of dark wooden tables throughout as well as booths along the outer walls.
Service: Â Upon walking in we were greeted by two hostesses who quickly sat us at a table. Our server was prompt and polite with a good knowledge of the beers on tap. We eventually made our way to the bar, where service was friendly and prompt as well.
Drinks: Â Henry's touts having one of the best selections of top shelf liquors around- and they are correct. While they may have not had all of our favorites, we certainly couldn't deny that they have a great selection. Now if 18 year old scotch isn't your thing, then maybe one of the several local craft beers (that they keep on a constant rotation) will wet your whistle.
Food: Â The menu consisted of good old American food with many seafood selections. We ordered the Sourdough Burger ($11.99) and the French Dip ($8.99) and both were fresh and tasty. The rest of the menu is what you would expect - Appetizers, Salads, Desserts, Burgers, Soups, Sandwiches and entrees like Steak & Shrimp and Buffalo Meatloaf.
ahhh HENRYS why you gotta do me soo good. i dont live in loveland but everytime im in town i make sure to visit  henrys. i love the local beers on tap. all my favorite. odell and new belgium. stella artois too!! i had the mushroom ravioli that were to die for. the cream sauce was thick and heavy and cheesy just how i like it. the spinach salad with candid walnuts is realllly good too. the booths are big and comfortable and its great to sit here for hours and enjoy your food and drinks!
Review Source:Bangers and mash...being a novice of English food, I had to read the menu description to understand that this dish was sausage and mashed potatoes. Little did I know that it would change my perception of English food forever...
My parents, wife, and I ate at this self~described gastro pub in the heart of downtown Loveland for a light Thanksgiving eve dinner. While I have not been living in Loveland long enough to appraise the label of 'best place to eat in Loveland', we were not disappointed. My bangers ended up being two very distinct types of sausage. One was a very salty but flavorful and blackened boar meat sausage. The other was a gamey and semi sweet venison sausage with a bright fleshy red color. The mashed potatoes had a fried crust around them, which was a pleasant twist. The brown gravy provided a good base for everything too. The portion size was just enough to take me through to thanksgiving dinner the following day.
Let's not forget about the most important part, the lager. I tried the New Belgium rotator, which was a dark chocolatey ale with a creamy finish. I can't remember the name, but it definitely paired well with the bangers and mash.
Cool old-school feel here with the location and decor. Â Reminds me of other aged small cities I've visited over the years. Â Modest beer selection, though could be better. Â Food quality was above average but nothing to write home about. Â Service was below average in terms of promptness and knowledge of products. Â Prices fair.
Review Source:Henry's Pub is a terrific Gastropub! -See official definition here;-) <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FGastropub&s=3b5120e2eee9857ca4eb11f109b7424de602f44b247386a0e71e71faeb61017a" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/…</a>
Conveniently located in downtown Loveland, Henry's Pub is the first restaurant in town that helped me adjust to my new home city of Loveland, CO. Â My husband and I are from Michigan, we've traveled a lot for business, and lived for 4 years in the San Diego area. Â In other words, we are food snobs. Â Sorry Loveland, but I was starting to lament my food choices until we found Henry's Pub. Â I truly hope to find some other hidden gems in Loveland, but I think Henry's Pub will always be my favorite because it's the first place that gave me a new sense of "home." I've already brought out-of-town friends and family here several times (they have all loved it). Â Henry's Pub is my number #1 "go to" place. Â Some of my favorites that I will order again and again - the P.E.I. Mussels, Steak Sandwich, Fish & Chips (also, the Sunday special with Walleye), and Henry's Flat Iron Steak.
Out of all of the downtown Loveland restaurants, Henry's Pub is by far my favorite. They have an awesome food and drink menu with a lot of variety. Considering I go to Henry's Pub often, all of the staff greet me by first name when I enter which would make anyone feel really welcome. I also have a loyalty card which enables me to receive discounts every once in a while. My personal favorite menu item is the Mahogany Steak Medallions, they are to die for! They also have a great website which displays their weekly lunch specials, menu and drink items, and their catering services. They also have a gluten free menu which is helpful for my friends that I bring in. Â The atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night is always fun! Â You will not be disappointed with Henry's Pub!
Review Source:I eat here a lot, partly because of limited options in downtown Loveland, but mostly because the food is consistently good and there's plenty of variety. The buffalo chicken salad, hot ham and swiss, and the burgers are all great. Service is fast, beer selection is good - I'm a regular and happy about it. And they have fried pickles.
Hint: if you order the sweet potato fries, ask for a side of basil mayo.
I absolutely love henry's! Their food is fantastic and their servers have great personality and actually talk to you instead of your generic waitresses or waiters.
I have gotten their Mahogany steak medallions as well as their French dip and both were fantastic and a little bit unlike anywhere else.
that goes for the rest of their food too.... Its all unique in its own way. They have things you have had before other places (most of the time) but its a little different or has their own spin to it.
My husband thinks I like to go here because my chocolate lab is named Henry....
Last night we ordered all appetizers for dinner. Duck and Strawberry Salad w/ Goat Cheese, Welsh Rarebit, and the Baked Brie.
So who's fault is it when I don't have the sense to order the dishes be brought in a staggered fashion, but the server doesn't have the foresight to suggest it either. Â I guess we both weren't thinkin'! Â Because that would have made our meal so much better.
The Duck Salad was almost perfect. Tender, perfectly cooked duck, yummy rounds of goat cheese rolled in nuts and honey. Â The strawberries were bright and fresh looking. The dressing could have been turned up just a notch--the flavor sort of faded away.
My husband said the Rarebit wasn't what he was used to (his mom's a Brit), but we finished it  anyway. And The Brie was accompanied with flavorful dish of cooked apples, onions and red peppers.  Again, this dish didn't fail to please us.
Our server was great (other than the omission listed above) not too pushy, checked on us at appropriate intervals, and happily brought me more baguette for the brie.
It was a Tuesday, we were seated right away, and it wasn't too crowded. The noise level was just right for me. Â Sometimes it can be hard to have a conversation (weekends), it can be so loud and echo-y in there.
It's a nice neighborhood place with a tasty and pleasing menu
This places surprised me.
"accidently" ordered their seared tuna sandwich. Â Accidently because I forgot i usually don't order "foods out of place", for example 'seared tuna' and 'pub' don't go together. Â but i had a lapse and glad i did.
it was gooood. Â they actually had a few things i didn't expect to see at a pub. Â like thai wraps and other stuff.
i loved my sandwich. Â I hunk of tuna seared and tender on a bun. Â
Service was great, and a local favorite. Â Came with a customer of mine who knew most people that came it. Â Family friendly makes food taste better.
Ah, Henry's. I still think your dishes can be sketch sometimes, but I'm upgrading you a star because of all the enjoyable times I've had lately at happy hour. Me & my peeps always get superb attention (except for that one bartender that is immune to flirtation, but we ladies won't take it personally) when we come in for our 4 p.m. therapy sessions, beer & cheese fries, brie & wine, you treat us right.
Review Source:After moving here to Loveland from Denver I set out in search of tasty vittles. I've been disappointed by some of the establishments in Loveland but Henry's is one of my favorites.
Yes, it's a bit on the noisy side (especially during the lunch and dinner rushes) but the food is consistently good and I like the variety of choices (very good for a bar). The salads are very nice and I've never had anything that I didn't really want to eat. Hrmm. Well I guess I had some soup that was just OK but it wasn't offensive or really problematic, just a tiny bit bland. My sister liked it, however.
My biggest complaint is the sort of odd service when things are busy. We sat down (a group of 5) and ordered our food. We watched several other people (who arrived considerably later than we did) receive their food, while we waited for ours. Yes, we're a larger group and that probably accounts for some of it, but I think that's a bad practice. We complained a bit, and the hostess was very friendly with us and kept bringing things over to help entertain my 2.5 year old. Making a group with a toddler wait is not a good idea!
However, I always go back there and I always recommend it. There is usually not much of a wait, even when it's busy, to get a table, but there can be a wait for food, but I've seen MUCH MUCH worse in Denver and Boulder. I try to avoid getting on those 30-45 minute waiting lists. Oye!
These reviews say it all.
If you want good service from Henry's don't go on on Fri or Sat. evenings because the place gets packed. This place can get packed and extremely noisy, they definitely need sound boards on the ceiling. If you go during the week you will get more personal attention. It does have something for everyone and though the menu isn't exotic they do serve more than meat and potatoes
Mark M. is correct about the mussel garlic ratio but that's why I love them!
Houghton and her honey's favorite food place in Loveland, and I can see why... the food is solid and delicious, not overly creative, but Loveland ain't NYC, so I didn't expect it. Everything came out super tasty, however, so no complaints from me. I love oldie, but goodies.
The Warm Ham and Swiss with bacon left me wanting more! And the Guiness Stew is almost as good as any I had in Ireland. The Crispy Beef Asian Salad (the day's special) was holy-moly-out-of-this-world-good.
The service is slow, however, but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't detract from our enjoyment of the food.
For good food and no fuss, I'd highly recommend it.
Our group ended up here as a compromise choice and that's what we got, Â a decent compromise. Â Like most pub/bar/grill places of this variety the food is good not great. Â
Mussels were tasty and fresh but the cook literally poured the jar of garlic cloves into the broth so that the ratio of garlic to mussels was about one to one.
Ravioli dish was barely hot enough and mushy, covered with too much sauce. Steaks were the highlight. Â Cesar salad was decent but the shrimp adder was three shrimpy shrimp.
Service was serviceable but the host / reservation system is dumb and went like this:
Hi we have a group of eight, can we make a reservation?
Nope we don't take reservations but if you call back 30 minutes prior to you coming we save you a table.
30 minutes prior to eating we call back.
Hi we want to come in about 30 minutes with our group of eight.
OK but we don't take reservations and we can't guarantee you a table.
Yeah but you told us to call back to reserve a table.
Well, we have a table of eight that is just finishing their desert.
Can you hold that table for us?
I can try but can't guarantee it.
etc..... Dumb.
