I asked the lady at the counter what types of vegetables were in chicken mien fun and she didn't know. She just stood there and looked at me.  The bathroom had to be unlocked (like a gas station) and has to be in violation of one of the health codes.  One of the cooks (owners) was eating hi lunch and kept going back to the kitchen to cook without washing his hands. The tv in the dining area (which apparently is not for guests) stayed on the Chinese movie channel.  $10 minimum transaction Di debit card users yet they run $5 lunch specials?  They basically act like they don't want you there.  The food is basic Chinese, nothing special.

Ho Wah? Oh no! My wife and I tried this place the other night and it was quite possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten with terrible service to boot. Our crab rangoon appetizer arrived after the entrees, and they were tiny, overfried and tasted more like bad fish and rancid cream cheese than of crab or even imitation crab meat. Our food in the dining room was served on paper plates... to go boxes were Styrofoam that broke in half once you folded the lid. After this experience and others, I can say there is no good Chinese food in B-burg. Just a gross experience all around.

It's gotten even worse. Not only has the decor gotten worse, but it seems like they've neglected it all together. The trash can had a whole bunch of phone books and junk (like in what the heck is all that?) on the top. They also have a pitiful wall hanging next to the register of cheap Chinese junk jewelery. I mean pitiful! It is a piece of card board with chains hanging from it with handwritten prices. I'm all for entrepreneurial innovation, but that is a tacky and bad idea. Still have stacks of supplies in the sitting area unlike another reviewer who obviously could not see the tackiness.

The food is still good, thus the two star rating, but the wait in the restaurant and LACK of service was terrible. I don't know why they have tables. And I don't know why I ate in. And I don't know why I waited almost 45 minutes for two entrees and a plastic bag of Teriyaki chicken for over 20 bucks. I think the rest of my Chinese dining out money will go to Asian Grill from now on.

PS: Why should I have to ask for fortune cookies when they throw a whole bunch in your to go bag without asking. I did not feel bad about not tipping since I did all the work (including getting my own drink!)

I don't know where Todd got his food from but it wasn't from here. Ho Wah is a nice little Chinese restaurant that has a decent menu to choose from. Their in-house dining area isn't much but there are enough tables to not feel cramped if 15 people where in there (which there never are a lot of people). We used to pay $6-8 more at our Chinese place that we frequented in my home town so you really get a good price here. Not to mention fast service. I walked in, ordered two dinner specials, and left with my food in close to 5 mins. And they don't use styrofoam containers they use the cheap plastic tupperware dishes. With this kind of service I don't think I'll need to check out the other Chinese restaurants in town. The only real bummer about Ho Wah is that they don't deliver, take-out only. They would have 5 stars if they did.
