I have to say this place did not disappoint during the Miami Heat finals.
The place is full of TVs which helps to see whatever game from anywhere you seat. It still has the pool tables, and the smaller rooms to have private parties.
You can reserve-- love this! and they have seating outside as well.
The service was great. Knowledgeable, courteous, and made sure we got everything we needed. He was great taking care of the one negative comment I have- PLEASE stay away from the ceviche- GROSS GROSS GROSS! Everything else we tried was good. The nachos hit the spot.
Perfect sports bar to relax and have a good time. Will come again.
The food was good but when I ask for a grey goose and pineapple, Â I want grey goose and pineapple. Â Whatever vodka they were pouring me was not grey goose and after the third drink I asked for a shot of goose as well. Â I got it and it was not goose. Â I asked for the drinks to be taken off my check and they were to their credit. Â Went with the well vodka and I still took care of my server. Â This is NO BUENO.
Review Source:Home Field has been the official go-to spot for me and my friends. Â After attending their grand opening some time ago, this sports bar has continued to draw me back in. Â The drinks are available at a very reasonable price in comparison to most other locations. Â The taste of the drinks are nothing to brag about, but they certainly serve their purpose and there is a variety of them. Â The bartenders and servers usually recommend certain shooters or drinks to match your expectations. Â
The service at Home Field is amazing. Â The servers have a very genuine kindness and they all have been friendly, no matter who the server has been. They are also very helpful with the many questions I've asked about the establishment and menu.
The bar is very clean and has plenty of space for groups if anyone ever wants to celebrate a birthday or just watch a big game on their many TV screens.
I highly recommend Home Field for anyone looking for a usual spot to just hang out with friends or co-workers and have a really chill night.
I was doing errands on my recent Florida trip and I wasn't going to make it back to Lauderdale to see Game 3 of Heat/Bulls.
Pulled out my trusty Yelp app and found this gem. Â
My check list for a good sports bar:
Clean-I gathered they recently took over this spot-so it was a great layout.
Lots of tvs--absolutely-probably every other one had the Heat on-but Marlins/hockey playoffs/soccer were on the others-so I watched other things during commmercials.
Pricing-Nothing on the menu was over $20--(Strip Steak and a rack of Ribs were like $19.) Â I caught the tail end of happy hour-and prices were super cheap--premiums for $4-drafts/wells/wine etc were like $2 and $3--cant beat that!
Service--service was on point-never wanted for anything.
Enjoyed my snacks/drinks/experience--Home Run! Â I will be back when in the neighborhood.
Home Field is cool. The drinks are cheap and the food is pretty good. On nights when the Miami Heat play, you know that Flannigans and the Ale house are super packed, so Home Field is the perfect place to watch the basketball game. It's got plenty of tv's and enough space to hold a bunch of people without it seeming overly populated.
Review Source:I've been here several times and while the first time I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, the last time I was sold. Â
It seems this place has picked up during NBA season but was a bit dead for a while. Â I'm not by any means a sports fan; however oddly enough I love a great sports bar. Â The food and drinks as well as the atmosphere are often good, such is the case at Home Field.
For those that like salmon, I highly recommend the salmon dip, it is totally out of this world! Â They are served with plantain chips (I think I'd prefer crackers), but I could eat this stuff with a spoon. Â The drinks are good and reasonably priced and they're happy hour is until 8PM every day! Â Who can beat that? Â There wings are good, while not quite Flanagan's they are still delicious.
On weekend nights they sometimes have live cover bands which I am a fan of, but make sure to check their schedule as it isn't a given that there will be live music.
Over all I like the feel of the place and the food is above average. Â I hope they stay alive.
I came back for a second time around after the gracious management team at Homefields contacted me. I'm glad I came back. We had a great time. We had a night cap and our waiter was Oscar who was great and attentive. The manager was Jeremy and was very intoned with our request and even pulled out a bottle of bullet from the glass case and actually gave us two glasses. Thank you for the great service. My husband and I will definitely come back!
Review Source:Went there Saturday night as it seemed to be the only place not showing the UFC bout so we did not have to wait 30 minutes to grab a table. It was my first time coming here where I planned on staying for longer than a quick drink at the bar.
Quickly, here are the positive aspects about this place: it is large, clean, has many big screens showing various events live at the time, and the live band was pretty good and not too loud in the bar area.
However, the negatives really killed the experience. The hostess seemed to not even want to deal with us when we entered. Â We elected a high top and waited about 5-10 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us and then a couple more minutes for her to take our drink order. Â She didn't know what she had on draft, nor how to take a simple cocktail order (example: vodka, soda, with orange wedge... she asked for clarification on what we meant by soda). Â Once the drinks were delivered, the waitress disappeared. She only reappeared to step out of the place. Did not bother to take our food order nor did any other waiter care to see if we needed anything for a solid 20-30 minutes. I had to approach the hostess to see if we could move our tab to the bar as the bartenders seemed to be more attentive than the floor staff. Â Apparently the waitress was needed for this to be possible.
Finally, she pointed out the lack of service and a runner took our order. I ordered the Homefield Burger medium.
Burger arrived and it was overcooked, tasted pretty rubbery. Â The saving grace to the meal was that pretty much everything else on the plate was pretty good. The fries are seasoned very well and the onion rings and sauce were great.
Remind me to not remain at the mercy of the wait staff at this place. Â It is a shame that a good looking bar with so much potential is improperly staffed and poorly managed.
The place is big with a stage, pool tables, & tv's everywhere, but the food & the drinks suck! Sad............the wings were tasteless, rubbery and just plain nasty. The drinks are 50% off like 5-6 bucks for well drinks, huh? I can drink at Flannigans for 50% and have great food for way less. I went Saturday while the DropOuts were playing, thankfully, the band were modern & fun to watch. I honestly will not return due to the tasteless food & pricey drinks. I gave it 2 stars only because the waitress was on top of her game!
Review Source:Food experiences were enough to overcome the drink specials (which are very good). Â "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me; fool me three times and I'm retarded..." Â I gave this place 3 chances to impress me with food and I was let down all 3 times. Â First time, crappy tasting chicken lettuce wraps (thought it would be similar to PF Changs, what was I thinking!) Â Second time, undercooked chicken wings (10 wings, EACH was BLOODY in the middle), to which management was hesitant to take off my order because they wanted to re-grill them. Â To anyone that has sent food back, this is unacceptable and the ONLY recourse for management is to take it OFF your bill and offer to pay for any drinks you've had. Â Third time, pizza is waaaaay too cheesy and the only time it's worth it is for the $5 happy hour special that runs until 8 pm. Â Great location, crappy management that is going to run this place to the ground... Â Bring back Gatsby's!
Update on 7/3/13:
Came back and tried the Grilled Chicken sandwich after a heavy workout and was EXTREMELY surprised at how delicious it was. Â Full disclosure, not sure if it was the heavy workout and the appetite i built up, but the sandwich was really good. Â Also, the fries are cooked to perfection. Â It's hard to get the fries out of the fryer right before they are too burnt, but I must say, they did a good job with this. Â The service was "ok", but I'll write that off to there only being one bartender while a big party was in the back and their patrons coming in and out of their private room to the main bar area to keep asking for drinks. Â Overall, I'm increasing my rating to 2 stars. Â After being burned a couple of times by this place, I'm a little tentative, but if the food keeps getting better I'll have no problem upping my rating.
Meh.... Came here a few times and it was just ok. I came here one Sunday during the NFL season hoping to watch a game. What I got instead was "family day" with a bounce house indoors, clowns and screaming kids. I could not bare the chaos and kids bumping into our table and we left at the half. At night its a bit better they have a late night happy hour although they have increased prices since they originally opened. The really bad part is they limit the menu late night and its just appetizers but no wings. They also banned smoking inside and removed almost all of the pool tables that were there when it was Gatsbys.
Review Source:I had some gift certificates for this place so I decided to come with my family. The place was dead for dinner time. We ordered chips and salsa w/ a side of guacamole. Only had a few chips, salsa and guac. didn't taste fresh. We had 2 of the marinated churracos(super dry, no taste at all unless u smothered it with the chimichurri sauce. Side of white rice was bland, ordered the full rack of ribs which had too much BBQ sauce on it. And after waiting forever, half of the ribs came out cold. So much for freshness. So much more to say don't want to continue. This place is not worth coming to. Definitely, will not be returning.
Review Source:Once again a great experience at Homefield Sports bar and grill. Awesome food, awesome service. When we there today my kids wanted to play pool and all of the tables were in use. Jeremy was so helpful and actually went to the back and brought another pool table out to the floor and set it up so we could play. This is the kind of customer service that is lacking in so many establishments but not this place. My family will definitely return for another great experience.
Review Source:Great place!! The food is delicious, the prices are some of the best in the area. It doesn't get better than this for sporting events or hanging out in a sports bar type of environment.
Awesome Live Music on Friday nights!!! That's right, this place isn't just a sports bar they also cater to live music events!!! Definitely a gem!
I had an awful experience. When the food finally came out correctly we had already been there for 45 minutes. My friend just recently had her stomach stapled and can not sink carbonated beverages. When they sent her out a vodka soda we had to ask for them to make it a vodka cranberry. All they did was dump some of her drink out and add cranberry. We had to send it back again. At this point we had been there for about an hour. So for an hour my friend was without a drink she could actually drink. That was the worst out of 5 different issue we had there.
Review Source:Price online as of today (9/21/12) is different from price being charged at the bar during happy hour. I pointed this out to the waitress. Then, Jeremy, that's what they said the manager's name was, told me with a full smirk on his face, that although online the prices had not been updated, he would charge me the new price anyway...
Gone is the $2.00 glass of wine
Gone is the $1.75 pint of beer
Gone is the $3.00 schooner
It's online... but not on the check
New prices:
Wine glass is $2.75
Beer pint is $2.00
Schooner is $3.50
Although the difference is insignificant for most people's pocket... It added just about $3.00 to my bill, the right thing is always:
1. To update the website to reflect new prices and avoid misleading customers
2. Honor what is advertised online
3. Be respectful when a customer validly makes the observation of the discrepancy,
As for my family, this was the third and last time we go to this place. I don't patronize a business whose manager has no sense of what is right when a customer makes an observation in a nice way. I refuse to argue with someone who thinks he's smarter that his customers...
The food is not bad. Waitress is attentive. Manager... well, the owner may need to reconsider what to do with someone like Jeremy onboard... Not good for business.
Buyers beware... Once deceptive, always deceptive!
My husband and I tried this place out on Friday night. It's located where the old Gatsby's used to be. Well, it's definitely less crowded than Gatsby's was in its heyday. However, I don't necessarily think of that as a bad thing. There are Friday nights when you just don't feel like dressing up and being in a mosh pit. This place is relaxed and casual. The happy hour drink specials are good: $2 beers and $5 premiums. I had a couple of lemon drop martinis and they definitely put me in a good mood. The food was nothing out of this world, but it wasn't bad. We had the Margherita pizza and a warm pineapple upside-down cake. The serv ice was good. The placelooks nice, with lots of TV's everywhere so you don't miss any of the sports action. They also have pool tables and a handy ATM machine nearby if you need cash to use said pool tables. I wonder if this place gets crowded during big sports events? It seems like a good option. All in all, we were satisfied.
Review Source:I really liked this place, and think it's got some potential. They were still ironing things out when I went, but I see a bright future for the new spot that took over the old Gatsby's location. The place is beautiful, and casual. It's got some pool tables, lots of tvs, a huge bar, and a nice stage. I'm only sorry that I was tired and left before the band started playing. Hopefully they pull in a good lineup!
We started with a pitcher of margaritas which was surprisingly good, and strong. There was no skimping here! The guacamole appetizer was good, nothing out of this world, but good nonetheless. What really reeled me in was the Caribe burger. I'm really a sweet and savory kind of girl, so this really tickled my tastebuds. It's got Chorizo Plantain Mash on top.... need I say more??If that wasn't enough, they add jerk sauce to it too! A little spice, sweet, and savory, YUM!
The hubs ordered the Mexican Pizza because our waitress recommended it highly. I was not wowed by this one. To be honest, if this was the only thing we had, I wouldn't go back. Thank God for that amazing burger and delicious margarita! Oh yeah, add a little Sriracha to it for an extra kick (you have to ask for it)!
Overall I'm a fan. I really liked the service, my dish, and the drinks!
This place is horrible. We stopped in after going to the moivies right across for a quick bar bite. Â This was far from it; there were 9 people in there including our party of six. Â We disreguarded this as we thought it was a bit early -3 pm on a Saturday. Like other reviewers the waitress could have used a red bull. She was nice but borderline dead. We placed our orders for burgers and pizza and fries, bar food not rocket science. We ask her not to char the kids burgers because kids don't eat char. Â End result: one kid chared burger, one missing burger and "oh the pizza oven is broken"; dont you think that is something to mention to customers ordering pizza?
The manager was no help in this situation he kept saying that the kids burger wasn't burnt... It could have doubled as a hockey puck.
And they charge you .35 for extra sauce to add insult to injury of the lack of avalible food.
RUN from this place. You have a better chance at Chuckie Cheese.
Horrendous! So... after catching a movie with my wife kids and friends on a Saturday afternoon we decided to cross over to this sports bar formerly Gatsbys now Homefield Sports bar and grill. We get there and actually start off liking the lay out of the place.
We ordered a beer..not bad but it was a little warm...ok so we move on...
Strike one came when we ordered a cheese pizza for my 5 yea rold....it is at least 15 minutes before our waitress tells us the  pizza oven is broken...ok so these things happen we move on and order him a hamburger we say please do not char it they bring back a charred hockey puck excuse for a burger...I send it back the Manager comes to us and defends the honor of the burger and obnoxiously. We finally get the burger....After this we all have mediocre food not great (I had the philly cheese steak I left most of it as I am spoiled by the likes of hungry bear and miami subs even Flannigans...this one sucked undercooked and burned all at the same time but we are hungry so again we move on...Mr Defender of the burger's honor then shows up again toward the end to comment about the burger...we then ask for the check (btw my wife is fuming at this point thank god we were with the kids this would have been much uglier if not)...ok so then the check...They over charge us items that are included in a kids meal we ordered (milk to be exact) then to be a smart ass they charge us for an extra sweet and sour sauce cup that they gave with the sweet potato .35. we moved on... Service bad ...food so so... Burger...BURNED!
It was OK. The service was not terrible, but it was a little slow. The mojito was alright. Nothing special. The food was mediocre at best. We had the nachos  and the margherita pizza. They were both OK. Not terrible, but could use improvement. The nachos could have used more toppings. Only the nachos on top had anything on them. The margerhita pizza was LOADED with basil. I mean, all you could see on the pizza was green with tiny bits of tomatoes. It wasn't bad, but if you don't like a lot of basil, do not order it. It should be called a basil pizza, not a margherita pizza. Also, if there is a band playing, don't expect to have a conversation with the person next to you because the band noise overpowers everything in there. Too loud for my taste. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a bar. But, the food could really use some improvement and so could the service. Also, they don't have a drink menu which I find annoying.
A couple of things I liked. The servers are all generally nice, but could use a red bull, or two. I like the setup here more than Gatsby's. Its more welcoming. There are lots of TV's so if you like watching sports games in bar, this is your place. The price of the food and drinks was reasonable.
I used to Patron Gatsby's before it became run down and pathetic and so to my surpirse, another bar took over and has done a really nice job turning the place around. I watched game 7 of the Heat game there Saturday night and it was a great atmosphere. I like that they added new TV's everywhere and the food was vastly imroved. I will be back soon!
Review Source:Went in recently and thought the place looked great. Since it has changed from Gatsby's, I like that that there is no longer smoking and the food quality has gone up. I love all the big screen TVs and they have an amazing happy hour! Nice place to go and out, drink and play a couple of games of pool.
Review Source:I thought I was heading to the place formerly known as Gatsby's. I was wrong. Enter Home Field Sports Bar and Grill. I was hoping to catch the remainder of the Heat-Pacers game 2 playoff game, so my good friend The Mooch & I went in.
Let's start with the good. I liked the layout of the place. They added bar stools & high tables around the bar area. They have TVs everywhere so you will never wonder what the score is at any point of time. They did have cheap beer specials in honor of the Heat game. We ended up sitting in the main area where all of the pool tables used to be. There is a stage in this area. This leads me to believe that there will be live musical acts or karaoke offered here?? The game was shown on a big screen projector. I really liked this. I didn't come with an appetite, but I went halves on the Chorizo Burger with Mooch. I have to say it was very tasty & I loved their fries.
The bad? Service was a kind of slow. Our waitress was very pleasant but seemed new. That may be why it took a while to get our order. The menu did have many items that caught my eye. The burgers looked the most appealing. We did order their wings and thought they were very mediocre. I am not crazy about their logo, but I'm sure the waitress felt the same way about my face. I miss the pool tables. Â :^(
I will eventually be back to give it another shot. They are new & need time to get settled in. Peace!
Although this place cleaned up nicely from Gatsby's, there is nothing to bring me back. Â
The TVs are huge as before but poor quality...over the bar one TV was all green, one was all pink and the third was so out of focus it made me dizzy. Â
The food prices are outrageous considering there are so many bars and restaurants in the area. Â No Happy Hour on a Thursday night??? Â During a Heat playoff game? Â Wow!!!
They want $8 for a glass of house wine. Â Seriously? Â Perhaps if you were a nice restaurant, but not in a sports bar. Â I opted for the hard stuff. Â The well rum was awful so I went up in quality (and price) to Bacardi.
Pizzas are $14 and up. Â Burgers seemed to be the only reasonably priced menu item but mine was tasteless. Â The appetizers were small and overpriced. Â I heard another patron ask for sour cream for her tacos and they told her it would be $0.75 more.
I can go to Carmine's, Blue Martini, Cadillac Ranch, Outback, Chilis, On the Border Bahama Breeze or Anthony's all within a half mile and get a better deal.
