My party and I came in at about 9:30pm to the Lawerenceville, GA location. Â (We initially wanted Moe's, but it was closed and this was the closest restaurant that was open.) Â And from the moment we sat down the experience was atrocious. Â
My friends had suggested the restaurant, and initially I opposed the idea. Â I had only been to a "Hooters" once before, and my experience that time was not the greatest. Â But reluctantly, I agreed to visit your establishment to give it another try. Â I came into the restaurant with 4 of my fellows. Â For a table of 5 the manager (who I think is most to blame for our negative experience) basically banished us to one of the most remote areas of the restaurant. Â We were obviously assigned one of the more inexperienced waitresses, but she did her best. Â I do not fault her for most of what happened. Â Now, although I work in health care now, I used work as a server in college as well, so I have an idea of what good service is. Â So, allow me to explain my experience...
We begin by ordering a tall mug of beer. Â We then order our meals. Â Everything is fine up until this point. Â Now, three of the five get our food after some time. Â It's not expected that all 5 of us get food at the same time. Â HOWEVER, if only a fraction of our party is going to receive food, it would only make sense that the food that is brought out is fresh! Â Unfortunately, of the 3 dishes that were brought out, only 2 were hot. Â MY dish the shrimp appetizers were cold. Â They were SO cold that the oil that they were fried in had begun to coagulate. Â Upon first looking at the dish, I initially thought that the harden oil was some sort of sauce, so I didn't immediately recognize how cold it was. Â It was only after I grabbed a shrimp tail that I realized how cold it actually was. Â The shrimp tails were ICE cold. Â It didn't feel like it was even cooked. Â (I'm sure they were, but if a blind man had held them and you told him they were cooked, I'm certain that he would have called you a liar.) Â Once I realized, how bad it was, I alerted my waitress who was very accommodating. Â
Having worked in the service industry before, I know that any self-respecting establishment (at this point) would have sent the manager over to see what the problem was and what could be done to re-mediate the situation. Â Our manager was nowhere to be seen. Â Eventually, the shrimp was brought back out, but it was only marginally better than the original dish that was brought out. Â Even at this point (20 mins after I sent the shrimp back), two of our party STILL did not have food. Â It was at least 45 mins. after we had order that the rest of my party go SOME (not all) of their order. Â It was as though there was only one burner or oven back there to cook. Â And as if each of our dished were made one by one. Â
Even at this point, the manager had still not shown his face. Â Because of how famished we were, we began to eat our food (as poorly cooked as it was). Â That is what 12 hours of work will do to you. Â However, this whole time, we were expecting the rest of the food to come out. Â Unfortunately, even after we had finished our food that was brought out, our orders were not complete. Â At this point, we were so fed up that we just wanted the check and wanted to leave. Â
When the check was brought out, this establishment had the audacity to charge us for the food that was not brought out over an hour after it was ordered. Â
Now, I don't know if this had anything to do with the fact that our party had the only Asian person in the restaurant or if it was just the gross incompetence of the kitchen or if it was the flagrant neglect of the manager... Â I don't know and I don't care. Â But frankly, you can mark my words that, I will DEFINITELY NOT be recommending your chain of restaurants to my colleages, my students, or patients.
