I prefer this spot over Twin Peaks. Why? Better crowd and nicer servers. A big plus here - they serve Crab Legs, which my Wife orders every time. Also a plus - During Crawfish season they serve Crawfish. Servers are always very nice and professional. Have been here roughly 15-20 times.
Review Source:I have been here what seems like a hundred times . .mostly during football season. Last season they used to label every tv with a sign that denoted what game would be showing on that tv. This was great!!!
THey stopped doing that.
FOOTBALL GAMES: This season, you sit where you want and ask the TV to be changed to whatever game you'd like to watch. That works if the place is empty,.. but leads to arguments if folks try to change what someone else was watching. Then it leads to awkwardness. If there is a sign. .. that denotes the mgmt did this and there's no need to argue or dispute it. No arguments. No awkwardness. oh well.
FOOD : Sorry I'm not a fan of the wings. just too greasy. not saucy. I'll pass. I do however like to order the chicken salad. They've modified the salads since Ive been coming. Love the fried pickles and the Micheladas.
I was next door getting my car serviced and I thought it would be a good idea to get a late lunch at Hooters. I was waiting by hostess stand for a total of 7 minutes to be greeted finally by pregnant waitress her name tag said trainer. I kinda laughed and smiled.
The service was horrible. I was seated in the "family" section within the one hour I was there I saw three tables turned over while I was still patiently waiting for my check. I watched 3 waitresses leave the establishment and 3 waitress clock in..all the while I was WAITING AND WAITING for my check....to make matters even worse a child who was 2 yrs old was getting more attention by the wait staff than myself.
I guess next time I get my car serviced next door I will walk to Jimmy Johns to get better service.
I haven't been to Hooters in probably 5+ years. They closed the location (Northcross)close to my hood years ago. I'm a fan of the atmosphere when sports are on the many TV's. I'm a fan of the burgers, wings and cold beer. I'm also a fan of the wait staff.
Tonight was a good night. Met up with an old friend, food was good, staff was pleasant, the beer was ice cold and the Laker's lost. I'm not a guy who visits this establishment to see the wait staff, but I'm a fan of the wait staff. Giggle...
Still the same gross food. Â I haven't been here in ages. Â The service is still dense. Â Haha. Â But, I guess it's good to go here for the game and beer. Â I never liked the wings. Â That grilled chicken sandwich was ok. Â The tots were nothing like I was hoping. Â Anyway, Â my sisters liked it I guess.
Review Source:I haven't been to a Hooters since '07 in Columbia, SC, but I was hoping the wings here would be as good as I remembered. Â Since I couldn't see the UT game at home, and a friend of mine said he was watching it here, I decided to try it out. Â
The waitress was quite nice, checking on us pretty consistently. Â I ordered a beer and started watching the game, and half way through my beer I noticed that there was lime pulp on the inside of my glass. Â I was drinking a Coors light, no lime or anything, so I got pretty grossed out. Â Told the server, she took it back and replaced it with another. Â I didn't mind much since the Horns were cleaning up on Iowa St and I was in a good mood. Â The second beer came out, and all looked alright (except it was so icy I couldn't see anything) and sure enough, when the ice melted, there were parts of a beer bottle label and a receipt stuck to the inside and bottom of the glass! Â Called the waitress over, asked for a replacement, and she got her manager. Â I told him about it, he was accommodating, and I asked him to PERSONALLY look in the glass he sent out next, so I didn't get a bunch of shit in my drink. Â For the rest of the evening things went alright, but I would have left after the first beer, since that's nasty, if I knew of anyplace that wouldn't be slammed to watch the game.
The wings sat under the heat lamp for probably 5-10 minutes waiting to come out, so they weren't even a saving grace, as the breading had already started to get soggy from the sauce. Â Didn't get a single beer comped, they just replaced the ones that they brought back out. Â I understand they probably had something clogging the drain of the dishwasher, but the bartender needs to look at the glasses before he/she is pouring the drinks. Â I'll never be back.
We used to frequent the Hooters on 183 near 620 when we lived in that area, but it closed abruptly! It was a very disappointing night when we went out for our typical fried pickles and wings weekend and saw that they were closed!
Luckily, when we moved to RR last year, we saw that there was another location near us. It's not a place that we go to nearly as often as in past years, but once a month or so I just get a craving!
The staff at this location has always been very friendly and competent. Rarely have to ask for a refill or anything like that. We'll be back again soon...fried pickles please! They're the pickle chips too, not the big spears...so much better as chips!
Still a frequent flyer here, the foolish boys are gearing up to go to 20 different Hooters in Texas to get our 2011 passports stamped. Â So we will go to the 2 in Austin, 1 in Killeen, 1 in Waco, 4 In San Antonio and 12 in Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Has a strawberry/lemonade drink the other day and it was good!
I was here fairly recently with a girlfriend when we failed to locate Tilted Kilt. Â I loudly proclaimed I knew where it was and of course, being female AND Asian, my directions got all mixed up and we ended up at Twin Peaks. Â They're kinda alliteratively similar...
We go across the highway to Hooters. Â Back in college I worked here before quitting b/c it made me desperately sad and depressed. Â I'm ashamed to admit after I handed in my 2 wks notice, I showed up for 3 more shifts then didn't bother so when I come back as a customer, I'm also nervous they'll do something to me, like give me horrible service. Â And that's exactly what happens.
I dunno if it's b/c it was two girls or what, but we were sat for 7 minutes before we got a hello from our (very sweet, but dumb) waitress. Â Fried pickle batter was super thick, so depending on how much you love batter, this can go either way. Â My Bentley wings were more like Honda Civic. Â When my friend ordered a sandwich, fries, ranch, and a side of beans, I told her after our waitress left that one of those things was gonna go wrong. Â So they brought out the sandwich, fries, and potato salad, no ranch. Â Predictable. Â That's the kitchen's fault, not our waitress'.
We fumbled thru the 892 menu flyers they have on the table. Â They serve liquor now which is a horrible idea. Â When I worked here we were told we can't serve past X amount of beers. Â Doesn't matter if you're fine and can perform oral surgery after that amount, we just couldn't serve you anymore. Â Throw in hard liquor in conjunction with beer and wine and it gets complicated for waitstaff to tell customers no. Â
I dunno why I keep coming back to this place. I really disliked working here.  The other girls with the exception of a few despised me and wouldn't help me run orders, bus tables, etc. One manager  was a complete useless frick who would go to Coyote Ugly after work with a few of the girls (I've run into them there) and next day at work would nonstop talk amongst themselves about how many tequila shots each consumed.  Great, but I need your manager card to adjust an order, could you do that...you know your JOB!....for me please. Â
I have some form of Stockholm Syndrome with this place.
I went here last weekend because I was craving Hooters wings since it has been a long time. Â Ordered the 10 - 3 mile island and 10 - daytona. Â The wings were very delicious. Â Good size and taste. Â The fries were also good. Â Can't have wings without the fries and ketchup. Oh yea, and the blue cheese to dip the wings occassionally. Â We also ordered a pound of crawfish, which was disappointing. Â Not all that good. Â Maybe I am spoiled by the other crawfish place. I heard fridays are 50 cents wings. Â It gets super packed though. Â Our server was awesome! I will definitely be back for more wings and fries.
Review Source:Typical Hooters: young women in ugly orange shorts and tacky white tank tops. It doesn't stop me from going to Hooters at least once a month for the past 10 years. I love their wings over any other wings place. I like like the atmosphere, the TV's every where, and it helps my kids like it too.
Service is usually friendly and gets better over time, once the waitress' know you are a regular. This location some times has their music way too loud though.
After church on Sunday with the family, we ended here for lunch. Ironically the wife suggested it. We roll in, place our order. "Kendra" took our order. Now is that your real name Ms. Kendra or your "Stripper" name. Kendra was very friendly and curious. She did go out of her way to assist us. I give her an A+ for effort. This place was filled by beautiful waitresses but that was the only GOOD thing about this place. I always joke that when a Stripper has hit her prime, she hits either Hooters, Bone Daddy's or Twin Peaks. Â
I was not in the mood for wings and wanted something different. I ordered their Cuban Sandwich. I did not care that it came with potato salad. I asked if I could get fries instead and was told that was not an equal substitution. Gee, I am sorry I thought a potato was a potato and provided I was not getting a baked one, it should be one for one, right? Not in this case. Â The wife ordered wings, one of each flavor. (Mild and Hot.) The food came right out just a few minutes after we ordered it.
The Cuban was not bad. It had a little too much Mustard and should have been served with fries instead of potato salad. The wings were less than desirable. Â I have gotten better wings from a frozen package of HEB wings from the frozen food section. They had no flavor to them at all.
Overall, service was good. Apparently you do not go for the food, you go to be served by good looking waitresses. Ironically on the other side of the highway was Twin Peaks. My wife replied, "Wow, its "Hootchie" corners." Â I will not be going back. If I want good food and the hot waitress experience, I will head over to Twin Peaks.
Disappointed with the service that my group received here on Saturday when we were watching the game.
We ordered 40 hot wings and 10 mild wings. Our order came back wrong as All 40 of the wings tasted mild and the specified 10 mild wings tastes like they were just battered and deep fried without any sauce. Bummer! The waitress forgot to put in our second order of fried pickles and didn't receive them until we were all done eating in which we had to take them to go.
Not really sure why all of our orders were in correct. It could have been that we were the only female table of 5 and the waitress thought we wouldn't be tipping her as big as all the other guys she as waiting on. It could have been that she as tired and stressed out. Or perhaps, the cooks got sloppy and confused when making our order. Either way, the restaurant did not leave a good impression in my yelp log.
