This bar is my favorite place to go!! Â During the week, it's a great place to chill and have a beer, and on the weekends, it is a great place to hang out with my friends!! Â Ever since the re-model, the place is a ton better. Â Thursdays are country night. Â It's still kinda slow, but it's picking up. Â They have a DJ Friday night. Â It's been pretty busy every time I've gone. Â Saturday nights they have live bands. Â Have a few drinks, then fill up the dance floor!! Â
The drink prices are comparable to most places. Not high at all. Â Love all the Bartenders & Bouncers!!!
My wife and I went there today, to kill a half hour or so until the Vacaville Wine Stroll/Car Show became a little more populated, and I ran into something I've NEVER heard in my entire life. Â It being a warm day, my wife was carrying a water bottle with her. Â We had entered no more than 3 feet into the bar when the woman bartender (perhaps in her early 40s) shouted out to inform us that having this water bottle was illegal in the bar! Â I've never heard of that in my entire life (we are in our 50s).
I was flabbergasted and my wife was so stunned at the immediacy of the directive that she couldn't move.  What's bizarre was that it was 4pm in the afternoon and there was all of three (3) whole customers in the bar.  The two of us would have increased their clientèle by 66%. We'd actually earlier been at the tavern across the street, a very accommodating establishment where the water bater sat in full view ON the bar.  Uh, what was not illegal THERE...?
I don't know what law this would break but one would think there was something the bartender could have said or suggested so that we might have been her customers.  We would've understood if she had explained that the bar preferred customers not to introduce their own beverages so they could sell theirs, and simply asked us to secrete the bottle during our visit, but this was not done and not the provided reason.  My wife even offered to empty the bottle but we were still rebuked!  I guess Huey's Pub has all the money in the world to make this such a sticking point -- that's amazing in itself in today's economy.  All I can say is we'll never step foot there again, tell  our friends to do the same, and actually, I think we're through with Vacaville (this was my first and last visit to this city -- so much for the welcome mat).
The best bar in Vacaville. Although it gets really crowded inside, the drinks are strong and cheap! Music is cool, I've heard rumors that they dont play hip-hop anymore, but coulda sworn they played some a few weeks ago!
Regardless, I always have fun here! Waaaay better than lame Cheers or Tj's!!
This is a local chill bar. The owner and bartenders are cool. Go here if you want to run into someone you went to school with. The music is top 40's and there is a karaoke night and played only Thurs-Sun sorta deals. The pool table is in the back and you better know your game. The drinks are good and I would recommend the 9 inch nail, but don't have too many of them.
Review Source:Huey's is one of a group of bars located near each other in Downtown Vacaville. We call it "Herpes Triangle." Because as Pookie said, it IS a good place to get stabbed or catch crabs. I really liked going to Karaoke my li' heart out till the bitch ass "DJ" (old man putting in CD's or playing off an ipod) wouldn't let me. Even though I'm hella good. Seriously. Fucking DJ. The last straw was when I tried to request a song and he told me they no longer play hip-hop. Probably because of the stabbings. That was my last time there....ever. Fucking DJ!
Review Source:Cool little spot if you want to just get out of the house. Â You're sure to run into someone you went to middle or high school with if you're from the area. Â Gets a little too crowded sometimes and the music is questionable since it's just some guy popping in cd's. Â They should consider having dj's with actual turntables if they haven't already. Â Drinks are reasonably priced.
