My wife and I always visit when visiting from out of town. It used to be a regular for us before we moved. Always the same great service and excellent beer every visit!  They usually have sports on the tv's as well. Oh, and they finally got new tv's!

Careful!!!  I picked up a six pack of IPA but when I got home it wasn't IPA.  In an IPA six pack with a small sticker on one side saying Tangerine.  Went to return it, but was told sorry, once it leave the store no exchanges.  Will switch to a brand where I don't have to read the fine print.  I like to support local business, but I don't like getting ripped off.

Love the beer and have been to the brewery many times...tonight was bad.  The food has gotten so bland, unlike many other breweries such as Full Sail, Widmer, etc.   The waitress was a total b****.  She obviously had an attitude, forgot our app, and thought she could make up for her incompetence by getting more attitude...the beer doesn't taste so good when you are served by such a miserable underachiever....hint she is really tan

This is a great place to hang, with excellent brew. Had the IPA which was quite good. Saturday night is live music I understand. It really packs them in!

This place has a decent wharehouse type atmosphere. Good brew choices.  Typical bar food, nothing special. Very laid back with live music on weekends.

Great beer, Ok bar food ! Service is not bad, although I hate when I'm asked multiple times if I need another beer when my glass is still 30% full !!

Five star beer. They have about the best IPA around. Cool building with a warm feel. I just wish it was bigger. We would come here more often if we could get a table. Owners are friendly. I would like the food to be a little better. The beer is the real draw. I know it has made a lot of my friends quit drinking mega-brews and drink the good stuff.

I just moved to the area and the Ice Harbor was a recommendation from a cousin.  We are so glad we gave it a try, we have been back every week since.  Tuesdays is buy one get one burgers.  They also have 8 to close(I don't think friday-sunday) 3.00 beers.  The servers are always great and the food is good.  Defiantly a bar-ish menu but I enjoy that once a week.  Saturdays nights they have live music, which is a little louder than my tast but tucked in by the bar and up stairs aren't bad.  All and all a great place for a beer and a burger if you are hungry.  I usually drink dark beers but their Pale has won me over.  The IPA is a little too hoppy for my taste but I like it better than any other IPA I have had.  My wife loves the Tangerine hef, and the Kolsh.  This is family friendly, my wife and I bring our kids in about half the time we go.

While in the the area for some business I thought I would try Ice Harbor out for a quick dinner and pint on my last night in town. Upon walking in you are invited by a warm barn style (I'll call it that) atmosphere and you get the local hang out vibe immediately. Being a Monday I guessed the place was packed for the football game on the t.v. And decided to find a place at the bar. First off the beer is good, really good. I wouldn't fly to the ends of the earth for it but I will not talk bad about it. I usually drink IPA's so I stuck to that. It was great, nothing really new in the realm of NW style IPA's but it was good. They had a few more interesting looking beers to try though I didn't get to them.

Second the food. I did a little pre planning and looked at the online menu to get an idea of what they have. I pre choose the "wasabi prim rib panini" since I love spicy an I hadn't had red meat in a while. I ordered a side salad to go with it. Gripe #1 is the salad was buried in croutons. I'm not saying I hate croutons, I just like croutons with my salad not salad with my croutons. Gripe #2 would be the sandwich. It was really greasy. In and out. It's to be expected that a panini will be a little greasy but not this bad. The flavor was ok for the most part. The beef had ok flavor but you couldn't really taste the wasabi flavor. It was more of a cream based slather. I only ate half.

My overall impression is... I'm not mad at it. I would go back, in fact I'm going to try the Clover island one tomorrow for lunch before my trip back to Bellingham.

Note that the official name of this location is "Ice Harbor Brewery and Pub"; there is another location nearby named "Ice Harbor at the Marina".

I was in town for one night looking for a casual interesting dinner, and found this place online, although its confusing because there are 2 locations and the names used in online listings are often wrong.  Also this location was weirdly quite difficult to find even though I grew up in Tri-Cities; its in a funky dead-end armpit of the funky old downtown Kennewick rail yards, and it was QUITE a relief when I figured it out after driving back and forth several times until I finally spotted the crowd.

This place is super super casual and very popular with locals. Service is haphazard but I found a table and managed to get the attention of the gal at the bar, and got fish and chips ordered; they came quickly and I was fine with them.

Brown and Tangerine Hef were great. Both very solid beers. Not bad atmosphere considering it's tri cities area. A little crazy at the bar for Monday night football. Food was great. Turkey bacon wrap was yummy and toasted which was a bonus. Veggie burger was great according to my hubbie. Onion rings were tasty with just the right amount of batter. Service was friendly and very fast. Great beer merch. Nice clean bathrooms. Look up for the brewery sign. Location is tucked in from furniture store. Actually on railroad road. This is a must stop for brewery conossieurs. Sweet!

Been here a couple times passing through - I like the atmosphere and the beer as well. The food is basic fried pub food which is fine if that's what you're expecting. The spuds (think tots with cheddar and jalapeno) are a nice option to fries, but they're fried as well.

Seems the servers like to BS with locals at the bar and take their time getting around to take orders, refresh drinks etc., so service is a bit sluggish.

All-in-all a decent burger, beer, fries kinda place in a cool setting.

I really dig the atmosphere...seriously it feels like someplace a bunch of fisherman or lumberjacks came up with. Very rough around the edges, but I like it. In addition to brewing & serving beer and a decent bar food menu, they sell home brewing supplies. Cool!

I had the halibut and really liked it. The breading wasn't overly thick. Fries were seasoned and I ate more of them than I usually do...for me, shoestring fries are generally what helps keep the fish warm. My beer was fine...nothing to write home (Indiana has some great beers) about but totally passable. It's loud-ish but not so loud you can't make conversation with the people next to you. Service was fine.

If I remember right, there is a ramp, so this place is wheelchair accessible...but I don't think the restrooms are, and the floor is pretty uneven.

From what I've heard the Clover Island location serves better food. The food here isn't too shabby for bar food either though. We've tried their quesadilla, beer battered halibut ($11), and shrimp poppers ($9). Don't recommend the quesadilla, but we did enjoy the fish and shrimp. The entrees came with a side of fries or sweet potato fries. You can also substitute things like coleslaw, onion rings, or other for extra.

This place is a low-key hang out where you're likely to see business people having lunch or wrapping up the day and regulars mingling in the evening. They have a few mainstay brews, and a selection of seasonal beers.

In tried the following and they are listed in my order of my preference:

Nut Brown Ale - light and smooth *seasonal beer*
Tangerine Hefeweizen - citrus-y, tangy, delicious
Runaway Red Ale - not too bitter like some reds can be
Harvest Pale Ale - I liked the hoppiness, but just not much of a fan of it...
    Kolsch - meh...
India Pale Ale - not a fan

This year, they had military veterans that work at Ice Harbor work with veterans from WSU - Tri Cities, and they brewed their seasonal pilsner, and named it Patriot Pilsner to raise funds for a veterans monument on the college campus. It's great that they make a good product and also build and give back to the community.

They have music on weekends too (Saturdays I think).

My co-workers and I like coming down here once in a while just to relax after a long hard work week.  They have a great beer selection and a pretty good food menu as well.  Families with kids are always coming in and seem to have a great time.  They eve have an upstairs game room.  All in all, it's a nice place to hang out with the people you enjoy.

This is a fun place! Get a tour of the brewery and check out the brewing supplies and then stay for whatever Doug is BBQ and whatever band is playing! You have to arrive early when they have a live band to get a good seat! If The Shades are playing, get there very early! You will love the entire evening! Try the Runaway Red, Nut Brown Ale, or if you like lighter beers the Kolsch! All brewed on-site! And if you want a little scenery... Check out the Clover Island Ice Harbor site!

My girlfriend and I dropped in to have a couple beers. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. They were super busy because it was fathers day but still had no problem keeping our pints full. Also,  Do the beer sampler, the sampler glasses are large.

Great place to hang out and have lunch. Good micro beers, typical lunch fare but good. Inside the building, it reminds me when I worked in the cannery during college summer breaks....vintage 1932 style = fun.

I've gone here twice in the last 6 months.  Both times it was good, not amazing but when are you really totally blown away by a food establishment...  the beer, burgers, and atmosphere is great.  Good for kids, families, groups, or just a date for the two of us.

Can't think of a bad thing about this place. Great beer, good food, great service. Also, they will teach you how to brew your own beer. What more could you ask for?

Went to Ice Harbor on Sunday 6/13/10 with a few of my local cousins. (I'm from Sacramento) They had great beer that was cold and great service. Our waitress, Jessie, was fast and friendly. We stay for a few hours and played pool and darts upstairs.

Overall, it was a great experience!

I really wish I could rave about how great the beer and food was, but I can't :-(  WHY???

So I'm in Hermiston, OR on business and have a free night to explore the area.  Those familiar with Hermiston know that despite having watermelons galore during the summer, in April there isn't much going on besides high school rodeo championships.  Anyway, I digress.
I drove the ~45 minutes to Ice Harbor to experience all the amazing eats and libations, only to find I couldn't eat there!
    Why?
Because although they state they close at 11pm (on a Saturdays), Apparently by 10:25 they completely stop serving food.  REALLY???  Music still playing, people drinking like fish, and no food???

I was sorely disappointed given all the other fairly positive reviews.  When your hours state you close at 11, at least have some bar food available to the drunkards that need some food in their stomach to slow the absorption of all the alcohol they just imbibed!!!

I ended up heading down a few blocks to what seemed like the downtown bar scene where all the local college kids were getting hammered and got a simple burger & fries.

Is it really the industry standard to close down the kitchen 35' before closing?

A spot on our field trip from Seattle to Pasco for a soccer weekend. I was a bit turned off by the waitress who yelled at us between smokes (as we arrived) that they'd be closing in 50 minutes...but, there was a great blues band playing, the space was a cool old warehouse, and the beer was great. Fried pickles and special "fry sauce" were a bonus. The waitress was great and we ended up taking home a 6-pack of their IPA.
Check it out if you're within 60 miles. You won't be disappointed.

Have I mentioned I like trains?  I like taking the Amtrak down the Columbia River Gorge, getting a sleeping car from Sacramento to Portland.  Listening to train horns during Mariners games.  I like trains.  And now another reason:  beer specials.

Yup, yup.  Whenver a train passes by Ice Harbor, the barkeep spins a wheel at the bar, and you cross your fingers for cheap beer.  We had two spins while I was there.

We went here for a going away dinner, and had a decent-sized group.  Our server/bartender was excellent though.  She made sure our glasses were topped up, she was nice, and she was able to handle our group handily.

ok, hard to do this one cause we're talking a 5 star rating for beer and a 2 star rating on service....
so, YES go have a beer!!!! Have a good time!!!!
Oh! And when  a train goes by they spin the wheel for a GREAT deal on beer or something....kinda makes it fun...been a tradition for a long time.
yeah..food..meh...but eat before ya get there! :)

I think people forget what a pub really is.  In England, you'd never complain that there aren't amazing servers waiting to take great care of you...in Ireland, you'd expect to wait in a sea of people crowded at a bar until the bartender makes eye contact with you and takes your beer order.  However, in the states, people expect great customer service everywhere they go.  The thing is, Ice Harbor is a pub - known for great beer and a fun place to hang out with friends.  Don't get me wrong, some of the food is better than you would expect at most "bars".  Their pizza is good, the paninis & wraps are tasty, and the salads are pretty good for pub grub.  (Try the Grilled Chicken Salad with the Buffalo Ranch sauce - it's very tasty, and a healthier version than the regular Buffalo Chicken Salad.)  Their daily specials include philly steak sandwiches, quesadillas, chicken paninis and more.  If you want lighter fare with a side of beer, try their pretzels.  The IPA cheese dip is freaking fantastic, and the red ale beer mustard is another favorable companion to the pretzel.

The reason people consistently head to Ice Harbor week after week is the beer.  I personally like the Kolsch and Tangerine ExBEERience, but the hop-loving men in my life are faithful followers of the Hop Warrior and Cask IPA.  This is the best beer in the Tri-Cities, hands down.  Sure, they don't serve gourmet meals, and yes, the servers can sometimes be surly - but Ice Harbor is a favorite watering hole where locals meet most weekends to listen to great local music and let down their hair.

If you are visiting the Tri-Cities and would like a little taste of reality here, try Ice Harbor.  It's off the beaten path and the perfect place for a laidback night without any fuss.  If you've read other reviews and are still afraid of the service, then ask for Casey or Rick - they won't let you down.  (So why four stars, you ask?  The beer deserves 5 stars, easy.  The food and atmosphere are a 3.  Thus, a 4.)

Apparently the key to good service here is to show up really freakin' late after the waitress goes home.  Our server was male, very personable, and totally willing to talk beer with us.  Very cool.  I last ate here quite some time ago...I don't remember much about it, which means it was neither terrible nor wonderful.

They do have great beer, and according to one of the guys I was with, also good root beer, so don't hesitate to be the designated driver!  If you fall for one of their beers, don't forget to grab a growler on your way out!

Ice Harbor (the original location, not the harbor location) is definitely off of the beaten path and not recognizable as a brewpub just driving by, which I did before locating it. It seems the restaurant and small store sprung up adjacent to the brewery, as they tend to do. Inside has a very "Cheers" atmosphere with sparse tables heavily populated with regulars, even on a Sunday afternoon. There's nothing cheesy or fake about the place, just a solid, down-to-earth establishment.

There's nothing special about the pub grub served, which is what they specialize in. Onion rings were solid but nothing spectacular and the same could be said for the very simple, but tasty, French dip sandwich I ate. I recommend splitting some appetizers, since the pretzel, beer cheese, and beer mustard are all the best things on the menu. I tried the cheesecake as well, and it was dry and very disappointing.

By far the best in the tri-cities. It blows away the competition. Every beer is extremely tasty and well-done. They are well-hopped and attack your taste buds in a great way. The lighter beers were definitely better, since the darker varieties were scarce. The Runaway Red and Harvest Pale were my favorites. And of the seasonal, a summer ale spiced with orange and coriander took the prize. There are few breweries I've been to serving more consistent beer than Ice Harbor.

Unfortunately the place was packed and one server was hustling to attend the entire bar and restaurant. She did well, but come on, give her some help.

I HATE to write negative reviews!! I visited this cool looking place (from the outside) today so I could compare it to the Clover Island location. I already knew I liked the beers and I didn't have high expectations for food. It's pub grub and I'm a chef. So, it's not fair for me to get all up in arms about the finer nuances of a hamburger.
The food here, like at the Clover Island spot was okay. I had a vegetarian burger. I did like the beer mustard made by Ice Harbor... and like I said, the beer was good. I had a hef.
The service: Someone has been working there a little too long. She was nice enough. But her work ethic is waning. I arrived and she was hanging out with some guy outside smoking. Then she came in and took my order and poured my beer. She took payment from another guy, looked around... loaded herself up with the phone, her cigarettes and a glass of water and headed back outside to smoke again...this scene took place more than once in the time it took me to finish lunch. Lunch that appears to get delivered by the cook.
If I had a group of friends in from Seattle. I might take them here...maybe.. (I'd probably opt for Clover Island).. but if someone wanted to play pool.. I'd take them here, order a few pitchers and know we probably wouldn't see a server for a while.

firstly, the beer is EXCELLENT, particularly the cask conditioned IPA.  second, the service is slow, and the food is alright.  don't forget about the beer.  And they have a home brew shop.  Lastly, when a train rolls by, the price of beer drops!

A couple of us had earlier discussed whether we should go to this location or to the newer, restaurant style place a few blocks away.

    We chose....poorly.

It's beyond me how a place that has a menu dominated by burgers can do them so poorly.  For starters, the featured "Ice Harbor Burger" was nothing special...just a slightly oversized cheeseburger.  Or maybe it just looked oversized because it was a full size patty on a small bun, I'm not sure.  Mine was quite overcooked...charred on the outside and browned throughout, and generally not very good.  The onion rings were fairly standard...I could probably do better at home.  I think the consensus between the 5 of us was that the food was, at best, mediocre.

On to the service.  How to describe it....what's the word I'm looking for?  Oh yeah....horrible.  Our "waitress"...and I'm using that term loosely...spent zero effort on us.  She only brought half of our food, and then never came by to see if we needed anything.  Everyone's drink (including the full pitcher of water she left) ended up empty...and the promise of free refills went unfulfilled because she never came back to us.  Instead, she spent most of the evening alternately standing around by the cash register or by a nearby table with a couple guys.  Meanwhile, the 5 of us sat with empty plates and empty glasses in front of us for nearly 20 minutes before she decided to bring checks.  She returned VERY promptly when we started pulling out cash though.  Not that she earned any of it.

Here's the bottom line:  Red Robin has more variety, better food and better service.  The menu prices are about the same, but if you can tolerate the lack of service, you can save a little at Ice Harbor because you won't have to leave a tip

While everyone else in town is lined up for the 90-minute-wait at restaurants like Tony Roma's and Red Robin, why not head over to Ice Harbor Brewing instead?

There's no wait on a weekend evening and they have delicious food (burgers, ribs, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, desserts, etc, etc.....).  Dining room downstairs with sports on the tube, and a fun additional area upstairs with pool table.

They also have live music sometimes on the weekends.

    Check it out!
