I was driving home tonight and low and behold another wreck at Cornerwood and 620! Â Suddenly I'm reminded that I never did a review of this place. Â Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the wreck is linked to them. Â Couple years ago when they opened I was happier than a lark. Â This place is within walking distance to my house. Â I went in a handful of times. Â They allow smoking. Â I hear that has changed now. Â I can tolerate the smoke to a point then it starts making me nauseous and short of breath. Â What I absolutely cannot tolerate is rude bartenders and weak drinks! Yep they gots 'em here. Â At least they used to. Â Been a couple years since I've been in. Â They count drinks. Â Their drinks are on the weak side. Â Last time I went in I was with six friends and the bf. Â Bitch bartender told my bf that I needed to leave before she called the cops. Â Fine, but, drunk or sober you need to give me a reason! Â She couldn't do that, so, I gave her a reason. Â Haven't been back, and, I won't go back. Â Suck it InnBetween!
P.S. Â I'd only had 4 drinks that night, and, none of my clan could figure out why she went sour on me.
First off, I love hole in the wall bars where no one is pretentious and everyone is just there to have a great time. If you feel the same, this is your kind of bar. Everyone is super friendly, this includes other patrons, the bartenders, and the owner. There are plenty of TV's around that usually play whatever sporting event is on for the night (this keeps the boys entertained) while there is plenty of AWESOME karaoke and dancing going on to keep us girls entertained. The boyfriend also likes that there is a decent beer selection, not to mention that it is super convenient since we live really close!
InnBetween is always a great time, and really has a lot to offer and all for really fair prices. You definitely should give this place a try!
okay...this bar is non-smoking now. Â I tried it out today and let me tell you- 100% better!
It's the perfect mix of old small town bar and trendy austin dive! Â They also have a pretty good draft beer selection (stash IPA and Alaskan White...impressive).
I will definitely be returning!
Raise your hand if you love lung cancer! ....cause that's what it felt like being here. I hate saying that esp since it's such a good bar but you can't hide the fact that this is a smoker haven. Unfortunately I have been used to the smoke free policies in many states and I actually like the fact my clothes don't stink at the end of the night...now you may be asking why in the world did you go to this bar in the first place?! WELL being new to the Austin area we wanted to check out a new place and found this one on yelp! My partner loves to sing and wanted to check out this karoake bar (coincidentally we went to a gay karaoke place when we lived in Hawaii and it was called Inbetween so it seemed fate showed us this bar....unfortunately it was all a smokescreen (no pun intended, or actually yes it is intended lol)..this bar is in a mini mart like plaza out in the boondocks of Cedar Park, there's a few parking spaces in front of the bar with most of the spaces in the back side...I knew this place was going to be nicotinish because the back door was open and on a cold evening, all you could see was the cigarette smoke rising out...wow now THAT'S alot of smoke....the bar itself isn't something to be dazzled about, the whole bar is one big room with a small corner for the karaoke MC and whatever singer, along with a small dance floor in front for the drunks who wanted to boogie, the bar is pretty spacious with perimitere seating. Â Why 3 stars instead of 2 or 1?Well I gotta hand it to InnBetween for having the NICEST people around...our bartender lady was really friendly and the random patrons we have some conversation with were entertaining as well so I do give them PLUS points for the people there...unfortunately I do knock it down a bit because of the smoking....if you're allergic to smoke or asthmatic or have underlying respiratory problems don't even think about going in here but if you're a smoker or can handle smoke in the air, then this is probably your kinda bar...luckily my eyes and my lungs survived the night but I think it will be awhile until I return..thanks for the lovely evening though Inn Between!
Review Source:I am new the the Austin night life and wanted to try to find a place close to home to try out. As soon as you walk into the place you are slapped in the face with smoke. Everyone seemed genuinely nice there, but the karaoke made me feel like I was trapped in one of those ASPCA commercials with the depressing music and constant images of injured animals were being thrown into my face. The singers were AMAZING, but the song choice was so, so, so depressing. I cannot stress that enough. To top it off most of the people there were over forty.
So if you smoke, are in your late thirties to mid fifties, and love to listen to great singers sing soul crushing depressing songs while you drink... this is the place for you.
This 4th of July, Jersey invited me out to a hole in the wall called InnBetween. A dive bar in Round Rock usually isn't my scene. But there was beer, a shot of Knob Creek, and I could smoke indoors. So while I will admit there is a LOT of smoke, I was A-OK with it. Allow me to express myself through song:
Been spending Fourth of July,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Met Jersey once or twice,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Heard karaoke live,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Skipped beer pong on the side,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Tell me why are we -- so blind to see
That the ones who rock -- are her and me?
Been spending Fourth of July,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Shot whiskey on the fly,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
I noticed one cute guy,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Had fun, I can't deny,
Drinking in a smoker's paradise.
Ahhhh, ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh, ah.
Ahhhh, ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh....ah.
This is an okay neighborhood bar. Â There is karaoke there. There is a TON of smoke there. Â I wouldn't mind going for the karaoke occasionally with the girls...but the smoke is enough to keep us away. Â I think that the big draw here is that you can smoke (unlike in Austin and Round Rock).
Review Source:The staff is friendly but the bar is extremely smokey (I think I was the only one in the place not smoking on the 2 occasions I was there). But a word of caution (and why I will never go back), my husband was there for about 2 hours after a really bad day and he and a friend got very drunk (this was confirmed by the staff), luckily I picked him up but his friend drove home (I was not aware he was driving or would have offered him a ride). The problem is that my husband's bill was $90 (he was drunk enough that the bartender and other patrons were able to get him to buy drinks for them also..I wasn't even aware that the bartenders are allowed to drink while they work?) and then accepted a $90 tip (do the math..100% tip) from a guy who could barely stand up. Â My husband didn't get a copy of the receipt and had no memory of this the next day, I found it by looking at my online account and saw $180 bill. Â My husband & I know he shouldn't have got that drunk...but If I were a waitress/bartender, I would know in my heart that even a sober person would never leave and 100% tip (unless you were rich but then you would never step foot in a place like the INNBetween) Â and wouldn't be buying everyone drinks. Â I could personally never feel good about accepting that kind of tip or taking advantage of a person like that. Â **NEVER RUN A TAB*** YOU WILL Â be taken advantage of!
