My boyfriend and I were driving around Westminster this afternoon when he suggested that we go shoot some pool at a place he knows called Family Billiards. I don't know how to play pool, so I wasn't really interested, but my boyfriend said he would teach me how, so I said okay. We found the place, which is actually called International Billiards. This place is pretty spacious and attracts both older and younger people (not very family-friendly environment, though - a little dark and not too clean). Â We were there during their 12-5 happy hour, during which beers are $2 and pool is $3.50/hr. That's a pretty good deal! My boyfriend got a beer, and we got a pool table. It wasn't too busy at that time, so I got to showcase my beginner pool skills in front of not too many other strangers. You know you obviously look lost when a random stranger comes over to give you tips on how to improve. This one older man gave me some additional instruction on top of what my boyfriend was already showing me. It was nice of him, but a little embarrassing for me. In the end, though, I got the hang of it! I'm definitely not any pool prodigy, but I was able to put a few balls in the holes! Â It was kind of fun playing pool here today :)
Review Source:A place where I can play PhotoHunt and not have smoke or titties in my face. Yay!
Can't believe I use to work at this place 12+ years ago. LOL
Back then, it was the place to be and they use to serve hot food here! I guess the new owners didn't want to deal with Health Department so they shut down the kitchen/fryer.
They serve bottled beer and soju. Â Waitress is a nice young girl.
Don't expect no OG-esque type of atmosphere. Just a young mixed crowd of people who wanna play pool and hang out.
Love this place! Perfect place for unwinding after class or just on any afternoon for that matter, especially since they have that awesome $3.50/hr happy hour deal from 12-5pm!! Though it looks a little dingy on the outside, the tables are pretty nice and the everything seems pretty well maintained. It's very spacious as well, and I can guarantee you that there will always be an open table waiting for you. I usually go during the afternoons and run into the sweetest old man, I believe he's the owner. He offered me and my girl friend an extra free hour, and even gave us quarters to play with the semi-broken old dart machine in the corner! Hey, it was free! He even offered me a free water bottle once when it was like 95 degrees out! His daughter/niece/whatever on the other hand was pretty apathetic towards the customers though, you'll probably run into her at night (which is about $9 an hour from 7-2AM?). She's usually just texting and doesn't interact with us as much, you sometimes have to call at her for a little bit to even get her attention.
Overall, nice, friendly place to play pool. Good for a cheap, afternoon date too! I knocked a star off since the environment isn't that great, the occasional bad service, and  creepy, fobby customers.
Place seems old and all, but tables and balls are still in good shape.
Went in during happy hour, which was $3.50 an hour I believe? Place wasn't crowd at all, probably only two other groups that were there playing. We had two tables and played for a good hour and and half to two hours, total came out to be $13. CHEAP AS HELL!!! They serve alcohol and other drinks as well as some appetizers but I didn't get anything. Good place to hangout!
This place may seem old but it's clean, large and the tables are kept in  good condition, rarely is that the case with other popular pool halls. The felt here is actually taken care of.
There are about a dozen tables and have a few arcade games out in the front.
