R3 Social Lounge

The place itself is actually decorated very nicely inside, with a nicely lit up bar.  I've been here twice so far, and I don't plan on returning.  Maybe it's bc I'm not Vietnamese, but I don't get the draw of it.  They have a lot of interesting drinks, though - both times mine came with dry ice to give it a smoky effect and both were made by the same female bartender.  Loved my drinks both times - one was a lychee martini and the other was a blueberry type of martini ($12-14).  I never got her name, but the bartender was really good.  The bouncer was pretty cool, though, but  too bad I can't say the same for the clientele.  

The first time I came, they had some nasty karaoke going on - or maybe it was some crappy performer?  The music is incredibly loud - I'm talking louder than a club.  I had to stuff paper wads in my ears so I wouldn't go deaf.  Once we left and were outside, my friends said their ears were ringing.  Also, the second time I came, the place had some tatted up old gangsters strutting around trying to look hard w/ their wifebeaters.  Really?  These are like guys who are 30+ years old acting like they were 21.  Also, the girls aren't that pretty and were totally dressed up.  I thought I was at a wedding reception.  Did they think they were in Hollywood or something?

Surprisingly only half full for the Saturday that I came. Just a drinking hangout with a good dj, even though the music videos all over the wall are not the same as the songs playing. My friend told me the food really suck so I didn't even bother trying (no wonder nobody was eating here).

I went to R3 today with my friends  for the first time after hearing about their Tuesday 50 cents oyster specials.  We walked into see a few people sitting at the bar and a large group sitting at 2 tables and a small group sitting at another table.  After we were sat, the server was quick to ask us for our order but that was the only thing that was fast here. We got there at around 7:40 ordering 2 dozen oysters, 4 items on the menu and drinks.  It took over 45 minutes to get our first food item. Two group walked in after us placing there order after we did and each got a dozen oysters before we did.  We then asked the order for 3 shots of Hennessy and 1 shot of vodka and 10 min later the server brought out only 2 shots of Hennessy.  Another  10 minutes went by and I reminded the served of our missing drinks.  5 minutes after that a different server asked if we got our drinks.  It took about 30 minutes to get our round of shots.  At about 8:35 we got our remaining food order besides the oysters.  I asked for an order of grilled clams and asked about our oyster order.  At about 8:40 after about an hour after ordering the server brought half a dozen oysters and stated that they were sold out of oyster.  About 9:10 I told the server the grilled clams was taking to long and I wanted to cancel my order.  She then stated that it was almost done and walked away for 10 min.  She then came back asked me if i wanted to cancel it and i said yes and i would like the check.  Took her 8 minutes to get the check and still charged me for 2 dozen oysters when she only brought our half a dozen.  I companied to the manager who seemed to be drunk.

If you come here you might want to grab a meal first then come and place your food order.  By the time your food comes out, you'll be hungry again.

Service here is horrible and I will never come back. I would not recommend this place to anyone and don't imagine this place staying open for very long.
