This review is for brunch only. Â I haven't tried the Mexican style dinner yet, but I would love to!
Brunch is regular american-style with a few items on the menu with some creativity, which I love.
The service was great, and the manager/owner came over to talk to us about the Cinco de Mayo celebration they were having (Which sounded fab) and to make sure we were doing okay... bonus points for sure.
The food was perfect. Â Everything tasted great and I was especially envious of my mom's special pancakes. Â YUM!
We went there to try their Enchiladas con Mole after seeing a review in the Press of AC, and were not dissappointed; Three soft corn tortillas filled with chicken and chiles and covered in a smooth, rich mole sauce with tastes of chocolate and chile and topped with cotigo cheese; We also had the Camarones con chiles which were also very  good but slightly overcooked; still the flavors were amazing and everything was fresh. Both entrees came with rice and refried beans which made for a nice compliment to the spices. Dessert was their home made Flan, which was amazing with a caramel taste and a hint of kahlua. We dined outside, brought our own Mexican Beer and truly enjoyed the experience. Our waitress Maria was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive; Lupe, the owner came and spoke with us as well and made us feel very welcome to dine in this little gem of a place located just about a block from the beach. We will be back for their chile rellenos soon!
Review Source:First of all, the restaurant is listed as ethnic food, and it is NOT. So imagine my disappointment when I sat down and they handed  me what looked like a diner menu with omelets priced $8 and plus.
The waitress was nice, but had no clue of what she was doing. She sat us at a dirty table, we had to ask her for silverware AFTER she brought our food and left, and we weren't the only ones unhappy with the service.
We went safe, decided to get a ham and cheese omelet $8 and a burger $10. How can you screw up a ham and cheese omelet right? Well, they found the way! It was bland and over cooked. Â The home fries were nasty, worst home fries I have ever had they were mushy, super greasy and bland. The burger was over cooked and nothing special.
I don't get why someone will rate this place 5 stars. 3 stars, even 2 to me is too much for this place.
Save your money and time and go somewhere else.
Its been about three years since I have been at Isabella's. My memory says their lunch and dinner is good. Today I had breakfest and chose The Gavone as my meal, it came with two generously sized pancakes, two eggs, hash browns, toast, and your choice of meat. It was priced right and cooked properly, it does not get much better than this for breakfest. This place is a must try, I will have to come back and try their lunch or dinner again.
Review Source:We discovered Isabella's fabulous  dinners last summer and it is by far the best Mexican we  have found in Ventnor and Atlantic City. It has become our favorite shore restaurant.....the food is delicious, fresh, and the portions are generous.. Especially like the combo platters which are reasonably priced. Friendly, attentive staff.. We have brought friends here and no one has been disappointed. The atmosphere is pretty basic but we like to sit at one of the outside tables when the weather is nice.
Review Source:At dinner time this place serves delicious authentic Mexican food, run by very friendly folks from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico.. Pretty good place for an American style breakfast or lunch, in the season (summer) they are open for dinner every day and serve Mexican food then. From 7 am to 3 pm they serve a big selection of omelettes (including a smoked salmon, spinach, and avocado omelette special that looks quite good), french toast, and other typical american breakfast standards like bacon and grilled potatoes..they will make egg white omelettes on request if you want to avoid the cholesterol. from 11 am - 3 pm they also serve lunch , including several salads and some tortilla wraps, I tried the balsamic grilled chicken wrap with romaine, red onions, tomatoes, and melted parmesan cheese - it was quite tasty and a relatively low carb, low fat healthy option .. but anything will taste good with balsamic all over it, even boring lettuce. Â Some very pretty waitresses work here, and the staff of this family business is in general quite friendly, I noticed they like to joke around with the regular customers. Â for breakfast they offer some Mexican style dishes, huevos rancheros and chilaquiles sometimes, but the big selection of authentic Mexican food is at dinner.. this is a BYOB establishment..
Review Source:Went to Isabella's over my week off. I have got to say, I was somewhat impressed. I really enjoyed my chicken burrito. I can safely say I think it's a crock that they charge fifteen dollars for a chimichanga. It was big. The portion of rice literally was no more than someone using a melon ball scoop. Overall I would say it's a safe bet. The food is good. The menu is limited, but it's also in Ventnor and Mexican apparently is only served at night. I would like to say it's BYOB which is big. Overall, too pricey for certain things/Very small portions, and whether you're mexican or not, you know that should be a staple in this type of eating.
