This reminded me of a frozen meal :( we ordered two pasta dishes and they were covered in a bland sauce and the noodles were over cooked... Would probably have chosen a frozen meal over this. Service was good.

NO. I don't even want to waste my time elaborating on the horrible quality of this food. I never imagined it could take SO LONG to heat up a frozen breaded chicken cutlet and throw it on a bed of pasta (chicken ptarmigan). Also you can totally see into the kitchen.. all I saw was bags of frozen food. Ravioli, chicken, etc. GROSS. Seriously, JUST DON'T DO IT. You will be sad, and then it will turn to anger when you have to waste precious time writing a bad review for it. GO TO SONNY'S PIZZA ITS THE BEST ITALIAN IN SAN CLEMENTE OK!

My hubby and I are home bodies with two small babies and if I were to pick my favorite place to order delivery from, Italina Cravings is our favorite!!! We have ordered delivery here over 50 times in the last 3 years and have yet to be disappointed! Their delivery is quick, garlic cheese rolls are amazing, salads delish, calzones HUGE and my all time favorite is the mama Mia! Don't you dare go here without ordering the mama Mia, loaded with yummy creamy marinara, artichoke hearts, Devine chicken.....my mouth is watering just thinking about it! If you're into having delicious Italian  food delivered piping hot to your door, this is your place!  I come from an full blooded Italian family and this is just up there next to my daddy's.....

I can't believe this place!! We bought a groupon deal that clearly showed the deal for San Clemente ( I even showed the Waitress the deal where it clearly said SAN CLEMENTE ) and she said sorry the owner won't honor it, you can contact groupon for a full refund. Wow really? Will they refund the gas we spent to get here? What a frickin joke. No wonder there was like 2 people in the restaurant at 6 pm. We also had our infant daughter with us who is now fussy driving home. You suck! Everyone should never go there ever ever! And if you got the groupon you should CONTACT THEM FOR A REFUND like the waitress said! To the owner, you're already developing horrible reviews and this groupon is still selling and over 400 people have bought it, so unless you want to go bankrupt, I would contact groupon and sue them before they ruin you.

Italian Cravings is hands down my favorite restaurant in San Clemente and possibly even all of Orange County.  The staff are really friendly and efficient- they make sure that your drinks are refilled and your food is delivered to you hot.  Even when I order out, the food is still just as good and I still get the same amount of portions.  Sometimes at other restaurants when you get food to go, they give you a smaller portion for the same price.  Italian Cravings is just a little hole in the wall but you will not be disappointed.  It's quiet and clean!

Over priced for low quality, bland food. Worst cappuccino ever! Skip unless desperately hungry without other options. Not very veg friendly. Dirty bathroom.

What a terrible (short) experience here.  So disappointing.  This is a review for the service only.

I purchased a Groupon which indicated in the title that it was for the San Clemente location, even though the details indicated it was for the Irvine location.  Before I bought it, I called the SC location and asked if I could use it there.  The person who answered said sure.  So I bought it.

Went in last night and told our waitress we had a Groupon. She looked at it and said we couldn't use it.  I pointed out that the title said San Clemente and that I called to ask about this.  She didn't care. Didn't attempt to ask a manager if they could work with us or accommodate us.  Pretty rude.  She said she could give us some time to think about whether we were going to eat there or not.

Ummmm...ok thanks for the terrible attitude.  Based on that, we left.

I understand this was a mistake that might have been Groupon's fault, not the restaurant's.  But it's not Groupon's fault that an employee/business won't even attempt to work with a customer or that an employee is tart.

I don't give a rat's ass about not being able to use a coupon.   We happily pay for meals and tip nicely at local businesses in San Clemente since we are locals.  We eat out 3 to 5 times a week for dinner and look forward to supporting the community and businesses within.  Sadly, this restaurant gets 2 thumbs down for service and because of that, we will never go back.  And we'll be sure to relay this to our friends in the community as well.

We are small business owners ourselves and we depend on the support of the local community to be successful.  Customer service is critical.  If I knew patronage was suffering because of terrible service, I'd personally do something about it.  So owner, if you are reading, consider this a heads up.

Just a generic Italian place. Food wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Great place to go when you aren't looking to pay a lot for a decent meal

It was a cool place the waitress was a cutie .
The salads were fresh and the bread was different , like it was seasoned garlic bread without the garlic or heavy butter. It was delicious . Now this were they started to lose there one star , now don't get me wrong the food was good but it just doesent standout. Like it almost looks like it should have a pop about it but it's just regular . This a good place for lunch, I'd go to cheesecake factory for dinner.

Have always had a tasty and great experience here. Eggplant is awesome....and the salads are fresh with crisp greens and veggies. Great thing is that since this is off the beaten path (Del Mar)..have never had to wait.   Have come here each summer for 3 years...always leave happy and full!

I ordered the seafood pasta. It was so bad, the shrimps and clams (if you could find them) they were so small and not fresh at all. The price was no bargain with bad food. Don't waste your money. There are a lot of good restaurant in San Clemente.

Nice little restaurant nestled in downtown.  Food is good, atmosphere is inviting, great deals too.  Not a bells and whistles type place, just a straight up Italian restaurant.

We went on Mother's Day and they only had one waitress working. It was crazy busy and the poor gal handled it so well. I liked that it was family friendly and it has a nice patio.

I got the Chicken Tequila pasta dish. The sauce was absolutely wonderful! However, the chicken was terrible! They had cubed chicken in it that was not the best of quality. I thought grilled chicken strips would have suited this dish better...

My friend says they make good calzones. I guess I just didn't order the right dish. I may go back... I may not.

My boyfriend and I decided to have dinner here after finding the Yelp deal. It wasn't too busy, so service was great. The server seemed somewhat new and had to ask about the Yelp deal, but it didn't affect her great service whatsoever.
Someone on Yelp complained about being serviced focaccia bread, but before she brought it out she asked if we were ok with that, so maybe they do read the reviews on here.
I had the house special, Cravings Mama Mia! and it was delish!
We will definitely be going back here soon!

Yummy! The food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the fried zucchini and the marinara sauce was amazing. I'm going back again and taking my husband this time.

The only negative was the noise level. When we went there were a bunch of little kids yelling at each other during their dinner. But they left shortly after we got there.

Woof! Had their takeout that someone else ordered. The garlic bread was tiny pieces, inedible, sweet tasting and on focaccia. If you want foccacia, you'd order that. Pasta had what looked like bay leaves in big but not complete pieces in the sauce. Had to fish several of those out--hoping they were bay leaves! Tough and inedible. Disgusting to have big leaves in my food.

Salad was good, and cheesecake was delicious! Skip the fake tasting fruit sauce on the side.

I would never go eat here based on this!

Cool little place in downtown San Clemente. They have a private lot for parking & an outdoor patio with decorative lights. Cute, lil place with a silly name :)

Our waitress was attentive but never once offered us water. Boo! We ordered some red wine, garlic chicken pizza, tiramisu, and chocolate cake. We split the large pizza between 4 adults - we should have ordered more food cause the pizza was not quite enough food for us. Really tasty though! The tiramisu was so-so, and the cake was alright.

One thing I didn't like was that they disinfect the dining tables with clorox wipes & the smell is extremely strong & un-appealing while eating. However, I loved the atmosphere & wouldn't mind returning.

Great food, but the staff doesn't want to work.  Seriously, the best clam chowder, amazing bread, and fantastic lobster ravioli. But the waiter was slow, and couldn't get off the phone to seat us.  Very down home feel, including the bad attitude from distant family members.

Wow, we love to eat out here in San Clemente and when we find a good restaurant we will go back a lot. We tried to get into Nicks and were told we would have a 1&1/2 hour wait. We walked down the street to this place. We walked in and found 2 other tables with people eating, the rest of the place was empty. We sat  down and were told our waitress would be out to take our order. 10 minutes later she came up to our table, just as we were getting up to walk out. We ordered our food. The back ground music was nice , a Italian calm sound, then we herd loud Mexican music coming from the kitchen, it was so loud that we could not hear each other. I was so mad that the staff could be sooooo rude, that I asked the server to pack up our food to go. I was going to call the owner in the morning but after reading other posts where people called the owner and got a rude response, I decided to turn to yelp.
My recommendation is that you never step foot into this restaurant.
This place is in need of help from chef Ramsay  and an attitude adjustment.
I myself will never eat at this place again an I plan to tell everyone what happened tonight.

Thursday Lunch at 1p a month ago.  Hey, there's no one inside eating and one person outside.  Worried that maybe it's not a good lunch spot even though reviews are good on YELP.
Well my friend and I decided to go ahead and try it.  Didn't want to go to Avila's down at the corner.  We were not impressed with that place last time we were in the area.
Server was nice. Took good care of us.
I had the Penne Pesto with Chicken.  It was fine.  Bread was good.  I'd go back again when I'm in the area.

we ordered side salads,  balsamic chicken , a calzone, and a side of meatballs.

The pasta was good nice tangy balsamic glaze drizzled over the top. The dish contained bite sized pieces of cubed chicken, rather than a full breast.

The calzone was stuffed full of meat and cheese, but the dough was a little on the thin side and was hard to eat because it was falling apart. The marinara sauce on the side is really good.

We got the meatballs for my son. He is not picky. But the texture of the meatballs was  not for me.

The side salads consisted of an iceberg mix, shredded carrots, cucumbers, and tomato. The ranch dressing is no good. It is obviously a cheap processed dressing. Reminded me of the ranch you get in a cup at pizza hut. The italian dressing was a balsamic and olive oil mix.

The buffalo wings in the appetizer section ($6.95) were AMAZING. And the pasta dish was delish as well. I suggest anything with the spicy Vodka sauce. Yumzz

Ordered a pizza which did not follow either neapolitan or lazio styles.  It's a bit difficult to put my finger on it.  But the best I can describe it is that it's a grade above a good frozen pizza.

The flavor is ok.  If you're not a connoisseur of pizza, then you'll be happy with what you get.  But if you are a pizza maven, then you probably would steer clear of this place because of the name alone.

The restaurant itself is a decent size and can probably accommodate a party of 12 people without having the place feel claustrophobic.  They also carry a few Italian beers like Birra Moretti and Peroni.  But that's about as close to Italy as you'll get here.

Just to echo my continuing gripes of Italian restaurants in California; no one is region-specific.  You'll find Americanized versions of Italian staples at most Italian restaurants.  And the same goes for Italian Cravings.  What I respect most about the place is that they don't boast the typical "authentic" description.

They keep it real just like Olive Garden...

Let me start out but saying a couple things that have noting to do with this food.
The address is correct, however if you plug it in to your navigation, you will be sent to the wrong place. About 3 miles south of the actual place. 2nd the check-in deal that yelp sells did not work for us and we tried serveral times.
I ordered the cheese tortillini with alfredo sauce instead of red sauce. I also added chicken to this. It was just okay for me, a little on the salty side for my taste. The rest of my table liked it better than I did. My friend ordered the cheese raviolli. She through it was also just okay. She like mine way better. My partner got the chicken scalipini, again just okay, she said that is had way to much lemon for her taste.
We ordered the taramisu and chocolate mousse cake. The mousse was good, I liked it. The taramisu was good but created a little weird. It did not have lady fingers in it, it was a white cake. It was still good but the white cake was just awkward to me.
I am not too sure that I would be coming back to this place.

Got a coupon on restaraunt .com, my sis and I decided to try it.  I still have the leftovers in my fridge...its been 4 days ... the fresh mozzarella was delicious and fresh( asked if they make it in house.."no" was the answer) the sauce was typical, overly seasoned with oregano.  Needless to say, I won't be back.

I went here a little while ago and thought this is truly authentic italian food. I think maybe the best in SC ! The Calzone is wonderful and the pasta really delicious as well.
The restaurant itself is older but comfy.
Not 5 because I have only been there once ... will update after my second visit!

So now after visiting Italian Craving four times, I think I can give an accurate assessment of it's food, staff, and atmosphere.

We stumbled upon this place quite by accident one night when looking for new options in San Clemente.  We live only a mile away and had been "craving" some good old, down to earth, Italian food.

This is exactly what you will find.  The dishes are huge, flavorful, and very well priced.  The house Chianti goes down nicely, and is also very reasonable.  They fill the caraf all the way to the top, so if its just two of you, a half caraf is almost as much as regular bottle.

I have tried everything from their Moma Mia Pasta, to the lasanga, the pizzas, and the calzones.   My only complaint is I usually eat so many breadsticks, I can never finish my dinner!

The waitress are all mostly young, cute, and extremely attentive.  I never have to ask for a water refill, more bread, or anything.  Despite this place gets packed, these girls move and never miss a pace.

The resturant itself has the ambience of your friend's kitchen.  They did not overdo it on the Italian decor, but it has a nice vibe about the place that gives it an energy.  I can image the outdoor seating is very popular in the summer months.

Everytime I have been here, I have had dinner for two, with drinks, appitizers, and desert, and its ALWAYS been under 50 bucks, sometimes even under 40!  When you compare that to pizza port, which I think is a rip off and their pizza overrated, Italian Cravings is the place to head too.

While its no high end dining experience, this is purely Italian comfort food, great prices, huge portions, and awesome staff.  What else can you ask for?

Would have given 4 stars maybe even 5, but we ordered an extra large
pizza the other night, and it seemed small, cheap and just not very good.
But I will say the meals that I have had while eating there have been very good. rich, and a good deal. One thing they need to know is NOT to spray the tables with window cleaner while the customer is eating. You would think that would be obvious, but it has happened  more than once as we ate. Not cool.

This was my second visit in the past 3 weeks.  Very, very solid food.  The prices are good and the food is pretty authentic.  I tasted the pizza which was really good and I had my usual Tortellini Gorgonzola.  The tortellini was awesome.  Even had enough to bring home for lunch today!

Definitely recommend checking this spot out!!

Good food, friendly service. Came in for the pizza and it was very good. The pizza crust was just the way I like it...a little thicker than thin crust, pizza oven crisp and great chewiness.
Washed the pizza down with a couple Peroni's. We sat outside on a small little patio and had fun watching the yoga hippies across the street scurry into their cars.
Oh, perk about eating here is the restaurant has their own private lot! Easy parking.

    Steve out.

    4.5 stars!!

Been here a couple times now and both times I ordered their spaghetti and meat sauce. You really can taste that they don't just use canned sauce. This was probably the best spaghetti and meat sauce I have ever eaten.

The first time we were there, my fiancé ordered their calzone. It was HUGE! The veggies and meat in there were seasoned perfectly.

The second time we were there, he ordered a pizza. I can't remember it so I don't think it was anything special.

They bring our bread and marinara sauce that is very tasty. I have to remember not to eat too much of them.

The only thing I don't like is that the service can be slow. They are good about coming to check on you while you are eating but when we were ready for the bill (both times) the waitress was no where in sight so we had to wait awhile to pay and leave.

When a place can make a simple dish taste like the colors of the rainbow, you know it's like finding a pot of gold!

Good Italian food is REALLY hard to find. Most places just use the same red sauce and throw it on everything on top of a pile of cheese and call it pizza, lasagna, pasta, etc...

Although the name is terrible, this place definitely surprised me. The atmosphere is small and a bit cheesy, and our waitress was quick and friendly. My girlfriend ordered the baked penne pasta and loved it...great light sauce with tons of flavor. I took a chance and ordered the gnocchi w/ a vodka sauce and sausage and loved it! Tons of flavor, and they didn't spread the usual red sauce on everything. The price is a bit steep but this place looks very mom n' pop so I was okay with that. Next time I'll try a pizza for take out as thats what everyone seemed to be doing. Definitely give it a try if you don't feel like waiting an hour at Selmas.

UPDATE: Had the lasagna, and it just wasn't that good...it needed better sauce and a bit more flavor. Lasagna is key to good italian, and this just did not cut it or was even close to Angelo's in Fullerton. I'll try the pizza next...

I have been here twice and I'm going to go out on a limb here and give them a bright red 5 star review.

First time I came here it was towards the dinner hours. We didn't even plan on going here but found this location with the trusty iPhone. Sitting outside is a must, especially in San Clemente. One complaint with the tables outside is that they are super nasty sticky, even when cleaned... might be the salty air, not sure. None of the servers that served us on either occasion were rude or slow. It might be due to the fact that there are not a whole lot of people in there at any given point in time.

There food is authentically yummy and not at all over priced. The inside of the restaurant is super cute. If your inside or out, it is a perfect date spot for non federal pound me in the ass date price.

If you want a nice lunch or decent dinner spot to go with a couple friends and bull shit, or take the females for a good time, start your trip here and end up here _______ (fill in the blank).

i am only giving it 4 stars since we ordered 1 item for take out.

We just moved to san clemente and i just started receiving the weekender (its like the penny saver) and also started collecting the coupons for the local eaterys..so i can try these places out. We got a coupon for a x-large pizza with 1 topping take out only for $10 and some change. it was ready in 10 min...and it was amazing!!!! although i am a huge crust fan so i wish the crust was little thicker but it was sooo good!! cant wait to go back and try out the other dishes since we still have coupons left!
