I love Bedford so much that the location probably colors my review. I've read "The Bedford Boys" so the story about the restaurant in connection with that incredible story probably draws on my heart strings a bit.
That said, there's nothing really wrong with the place although I feel it hasn't really gotten it's own niche or personality. There is counter space to eat, they serve wine, and there is local photos on the wall for sale from a young man who either works or has a close connection with the owners. They serve Coke out of bottles which lends to the history and feel of the 1940's I think about when strolling the streets but they could work a little harder at solidifying the atmosphere. It's a little confused and messy.
That said, the sandwiches we ordered were just fine and the cannoli as well although real cannoli is made with ricotta cheese. The people were nice as well and I can see it being a place where you go to visit or pick up a sandwich for a picnic.
I found this place after hearing about how delicious their tuna was. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but it's made up for in the fact that the food is great. My favorite place in town for lunch.
Everything I've tried has been delicious, and I've heard the BBQ wrap is a must have, so that's next on my list. Thumbs up for their tuna melt, chicken philly, fuji apple bacon wrap, and the Reuben (ask for extra dressing). They also have a nice salad bar, with a surprisingly fresh and full selection.
Ivy Bridge Cafe is a must try.
