The chicken stripe appetizer is delicious. They are hand battered with a wonderful blend of spices. If you add fries you'd better be hungry because they give you a good amount.  Not a huge fan of the Chili but I can get picky when it comes to Chili.

Best bar food I've EVER had.  Seriously.  I want to say all of their stuff is home-made, which you don't find in small pubs like this.  The cheese curds are fantastically delicious, the wings ($.50 on Wednesdays) are HUMONGOUS and SO flavorful, awesome hand-cut fries, and don't even get me started on the big pretzel.  It's the size of my head, crispy on the outside and so freaking soft on the inside with two huge sides of nacho cheese and brown mustard.  They have a patio, cheap happy hour drink specials AND a free Brewers shuttle to boot.  I don't often sit at a table, mainly the bar and the service is good.  Natalie the bartender is fantastic.  So happy this place came to Tosa!

Compared to its nearest competition (MO's, or as I like to call it, Eeww) this joint should get six stars. The Cubano is bombo! For you double wide, State Fair loving, cheesehead wearing dudes.... You'll love the portions.
Can't wait to try the windy dingys!

We came here to grab some beers after work.

The parking in the back was decent, the prices were good, especially during happy hour.

Had a fine selection of draft.  It was smaller than I'm used to, but it was nice over all.

We also grabbed a large pretzel.  That was definitely interesting, and it went well with our beer.

All in all an OK place, one I wouldn't mind stopping by again.

I really like this place, its fun inside with small tables flat screens all around with sports on and a cool bar.  Then if you go in the back room you can play pool, darts, or golden tee golf.  If you have a bigger party they have bigger tables on the side back room which is a little quiter part of the restaurant.  I like the menu and and jumbo pretzel appatizer tastes amazing and is absolutely enormus.  The staff and owner are super friendly and attentive.  We cant wait to see the new one downtown :)

Jackson's has a really great atmosphere.  Can't wait for summer to enjoy the garage door style walls and patio.  Fantastic Happy Hour specials - $2 beer and wine.  Glad to see they have Moscato!

Food has been very good on the three occasions we've been there.  Wings, nachos and huge pretzel and great appetizers.  The burgers are very flavorflu, chicken sandwich with sirracha mayo is delicious and the fries are fantastic.  Great, comfortable, cozzy bar/restaurant to grab quick bite or hang out with a group after work.

Just ate there, six of us. Burgers were very good, Cubanos, not so much. Got a chair with a piece of metal protruding. Not noticeable until I sat and got poked and put a hole in new pants. Told waitress about it and was told, "sorry, that chair should be in the basement." No offer to repair/replace pants or offer to try to make it right. Disappointing.

The owner and friends came back drunk after a badgers game and were extremely obnoxious to all customers.  average food at best.  I will never go back.

We did the Cuban thing today and this is a tasty sandwhich. Still a great lunch spot and it's better than I remember it. The Friday New England clam chowder is very good

Their food was excellent.  The service was very good too.  But the wait was terrible.  Because the place is so popular there was no room for us.  The owner was very nice.  He offered us drinks while we waited.  He made sure we had everything we needed when we got seated.  The party in front of us was very rude.  They saw us waiting and continued to sit and drink just to sit and drink.  But obviously that was not the fault of the staff; they were trying to keep everybody happy.
For a newer restaurant they are doing very well.  With a full bar and a family eating area they have a very good start.

My husband and I walked on up to Jackson's tonight for dinner.  It's a charming little corner bar / grill that has changed hands 3 times since we've lived in our 'hood.  I have to say, I really hope Jackson's stays in our neighborhood - it's an affable and welcoming little place.  It was great to stop in for dinner and drinks.

We wanted dinner, and walked in the front door (the one on Bluemound).  (Note to self : We should have entered in the side door, on 112th, as the hostess stand is right by the side door.)  We were greeted promptly and seated right away.  My husband had the Blue Ribbon Burger, and I had the Portabello Mushroom burger.  I loved it.  The bun was home-made, dill-infused mozzarella cheese melted ALL UP IN THIS MESS.  Seriously, it was HUGE and filling.

Service was prompt and thorough - we got our burgers quickly.  Prices were reasonable.

The place seems like it got a decent crowd around 5:45 on a Saturday night, and it's not even during the Brewers season (they do offer a shuttle for games, BTW).

    Good job, Jackson's!

Experienced my first AYCE fish fry in MKE here. Came here with a bunch of people and we were sat outside in the tables because our party was so big.

Overall, the fried beer battered cod was alright. It wasn't amazing but it was unpalatable. It was flaky like cod should be and I think the pricing of the AYCE made worth it. I just wished they served us more cole slaw. If you like a slightly more firm fish, I would recommend going with the perch fry. It has more of a taste to it while the cod does not have a natural taste...you need the tartar or vinegar.

Our waiter was amazing. He was super attentive and just came out with batches and batches of cod for us. We had so much that we couldn't even finish all the baskets.

Just your average Tosa bar with below average food. Bathrooms aren't really maintained either.

Right across the street from my favorite Rocky Rococo Pizza on 113 and bluemound rd.

Jackson's BRP is fairly new to me opening about 6 months ago. I like the double garage styled walls that open to a patio.  Only saw 1 fly while there for a brewer, nationals game. Great HH specials. $2 pints.  Bartenders were cool fast and do make the Old fashions Properly. All age groups here And people were friendly.

Special thanks to Natalie for making an old man feel young again.. umm... not THAT!! She was the second person to  card me this week. (besides the Beer girl at Miller Park.)   LOL.

So, this place kinda rocks.  I go out once a month with a group of co-workers to blow off steam.  We are always looking for a decent happy hour deal PLUS decent bar food in the Tosa area.  No small feat, I tell ya.  This month we tried Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub and we may have found our new home.  The waitress was savvy enough to start separate bar tabs for every person sitting at the table - love that!  Two dollar taps until 6 p.m. - hell yes!  This included Spotted Cow, my personal fave.  But the food was where it was really at.  I am told they have a commitment to serving the best bar food in town, and they may be well on their way.  Everything is made from fresh, never frozen, ingredients and is quite delicious.  We shared a giant pretzel that came out on a pizza pan with two different sauces - out of this world.  Then on to cheese curds - O.M.G.  Best cheese curds I have ever had in my life, and I am a self-proclaimed expert.  Then I moved onto pizza which was good, but I was already pretty full.  There were all kinds of great options on the menu, though, including a few things that seemed better than bar food fare.  We were there on a night where the Packers were playing the Bears, so it got pretty crowded pretty quickly.  That being said, we had a great experience.  We'll be back!

Been twice.  Food was excellent both times and beer is nice and cold.  Chicken wings were great -- appear to be fried, then sauced, and then grilled.  The 'Tosa Chicken Sandwich was very good.  I'm not typically a fan of "onion straws" but the ones here were good.  French fries are fresh cut and delicious.  The personal pizza was also very good, not too thin and not too thick. Can't beat the place on Sundays -- happy hour all day with 2-for-1 draft beers.  They have a very good beer selection, offering some craft and local beers along with the more standard fare.

So far haven't had anything we didn't like, but the best thing, by far, are the cheese curds. These aren't your typical breaded and fried "bullets".  I don't even know how to describe them. They are light, "fluffy", buttery deliciousness.  They are unlike any other curd I've ever had. They are worth the trip by themselves.

We used to do occasional Friday Happy Hours at this location when it was JoJos.  Maybe every six weeks---a group of seven women.  JoJos never gave us a problem accommodating seven ladies in the bar which is our preference.  When we returned to the place under new management, our server kept telling us they did not like to seat that large of a group in the bar area and continued to persuade us to get a table in the dining room. It was not a Brewer home game evening either.  We weren't there to 'dine' beyond a couple plates of appetizers.  Another same sized group of guys (possibly regulars) were taking up eight seats at a table in the bar so why were we being pushed into the dining room?  That being said, the appetizers were good and the drinks were reasonable.  Service is good, but we decided to find another Happy Hour spot so we didn't have to hassle with being  sent to the dining room.

While I don't find myself on the outskirts of 'Tosa *too* terribly often, next time I do, I know where I'm going for a food.

Yup. I'm going to Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub, folks.

"For why?" one may ask. Well, dear asker, It's easy, it's simple, and I'm 'bout to break it on down for you (so you too can be in the know).

    1. Cute corner pub and grill with a blue ribbon theme. Cute cute cute.
    2. A nice selection of domestic (read: normal-ish) and craft brews on tap.
    3. MARGARITAS ON TAP
    4. Super sweet servers and bartenders and owners
    5. Stellar, stellar bar food, all handmade (not frozen nonsense... this stuff is rad and made to order, and fresh!)

My chicken sandwich with cheese and Srirarcha mayo? Delightful. The bread was soft and delicious... good bread can really make a sandwich, ya'know? And the horseradish peppercorn dressing for my side salad? Holy nom, Batman. I want more.

Four solid stars for a great little spot I may not have otherwise discovered were it weren't for a work meeting. I love finding hidden gems in the 'burbs... I'm always surprised, and always happy that they exist.

Not quite sure what to make of this place. Friendly staff. Entertaining regulars. Frequent specials. Flies. Lots of flies.

And gosh darn it, the best-cooked chicken wings I've found west of Buffalo.

Stumbled into a 2-for-1 happy hour when I left my hotel for dinner, got there around 5:30 or so on a Tuesday. Bonus!

Ordered the wings, medium and on the well-done side. I got PERFECTLY well-done, crispy wings. They appear to have been fried, then grilled. Possibly just grilled, but I suspect fried first.

Now, these wings weren't perfect -- the medium had too much heat, not enough tang. I'd think some vinegar, maybe some butter, would have rounded the sauce out well. Maybe less cayenne pepper. Medium shouldn't make you sweat, and the lack of tang is a big ding in my book. But the TEXTURE _was_ PERFECT. I haven't had an order of wings cooked like that since my days in Rochester in western NY (near Buffalo, ish, for the unfamiliar.)

Overall, decent visit. Got out of there with 4 pints and an order of wings for $16 and change. If it weren't for the flies, this place would get 4 stars. No flies, and tangier wing sauce, would make it 5-star.

My new favorite hang out spot in Milwaukee!  Great food - the Cubano sandwich is to die for...and the fries are excellent

Upon learning I was from California, Joe the bartender went in back and brought out a bottle of Sriracha!  For a Californian, Sriracha hot sauce is a food group!  Turns out he lived in the Bay Area and knew about our addiction to the condiment.

Only down side: smoke from the patio wafted in regularly...yuck.  Certainly a constant reminder I wasn't in California anymore, Toto!

Stopped by Jacksons after the little league game tonight. Love the patio. The giant pretzel was awesome. Drinks were less than we pay at most places around this area.

Went here for the first time on a 100 degree Friday night to find....the air conditioning wasn't working. Despite that, we decided to go ahead and take in a beer battered fish fry and this one is very good.  Both my wife and I ordered the 3 piece cod ($9.95) and I also ordered a Margarita on the rocks ($6.50). Since we weren't that hungry we decided not to opt for the all you can eat version ($11.95). I ordered the chips with seasoning, my wife had the fries.

Service was quick and we got out drinks in short order. The margarita was OK but just OK - for $6.50 I would have like to had it a lot more potent for that price.

During our visit Jackson's was under a bit of construction with the big windows in the bar area gone and replaced with plastic wrap while waiting for the new glass. The dining area looked freshly painted with refinished floors but the tables and chairs are something you would see in a cafeteria somewhere - very plain and somewhat cheesy. While we waited for our meal we were treated(sarcasm) to heavy metal music booming (and I do mean booming) from the main bar area. This felt out of place since the dining area was filled with 40 & 50 something age crowd.  The booming music, while not piped into the dining area, could be clearly heard from the bar and was a distraction in the dining area.

The meal came pretty quick and was very tasty. I've been looking for a good beer battered fish fry and the fish was hot, tasty, with a nice crunchy crust. The pieces were somewhat small but like I said, we weren't that hungry and it fit us perfectly. If you are hungry go right for the All You Can Eat version for 2 bucks more.

The food was very good, the service was very attentive. The only low point was the drink could have been more powerful. I never understand why restaurants cheese out on the booze when it comes to mixing drinks. Owners probably think they are making money by doing this but I have to believe in the long run it hurts them. I never order another drink if the first one is weak. OWNERS: STRONGER = HAPPY CUSTOMERS.

The food at Jackson's is really very good and I will come back. I'm looking forward to trying their pizza which looked very good.

I'd like to see them place a little more thought on the music, tables, chairs and put some photos / art on the blank walls. They are working on improvements - a patio was put in with outdoor seating and new windows so they have the vision and the food is really solid.  But the ambiance is weak in what could be a very nice gem of a restaurant in the neighborhood.

We went tonight for dinner. The AYCE Cod fish fry was delish! My hubby had the lake perch dinner and it was quite a generous portion of perch. We also ordered homemade jalapeno poppers and chicken tenders (for our son) and those we amazingly good too! Get there before 6pm and enjoy 2-4-1 tap beers.
Our service was OK, the server seemed a little ditsy. But the food came out hot and pretty quickly so I can't complain too much. It was hot in there, seemed like the central air unit was down, but they had about 6 super strong fans going to cool us down.

Stopped in for dinner and was very impressed.  We got there just before 6 and ordered a beer (Lakefront IPA) on tap. Was happily surprised when server said "its still happy hour (for like 2 minutes) so I got 2 pints for a total of $4!

Food was FANTASTIC!  Had heard good things about fresh made food here, so went out a limb and ordered the grilled swordfish sandwich.  It was excellent.  Huge fillet that was cooked to perfection (still very moist) and great ciabatta bun.  Wife tried the chilly which had great flavor.  Son had the cubano sandwich (HUGE - a hungry 18yr old couldn't finish it! Took about half home and had next day for lunch.)

We also tried the hand-stuffed jalapeno poppers, which were fantastic. Very light coating which was nice.  Had the onion strings as side with sandwich and they were just ok.

    Will definitely be coming back!!

You HAVE to try this place!!  We had pizza (choice of homemade white or red sauce on a thin crust) and it was awesome.  While we were eating at the bar, the people around us were raving about their food - ranging from burgers and sandwiches to pizza, as well.  We also had the hand-stuffed jalapeno poppers, which were fantastic.  The owners and bartenders are super friendly, and it's really a fun place.  Can't wait for the finished wrap-around patio!!!!  Also a great place to take the Brewer shuttle to Miller Park with easy parking.

Jackson's Blue Ribbon Pub has been open for about 8 weeks now, and last night was our first trip to see how the place has changed.  I was quite surprised, it looked clean and bright.  On a Friday night at 6pm, the place was busy too.  We tried the fish fries and took advantage of the Micro-brew pitcher specials.  From 6-10pm on Friday (yes I said Friday) they run $7 pitchers of micro-brews,  Yes, you heard correct, I got Stella Artois for $7 a pitcher,  The special on the beer alone will bring us back.

Now let's talk fish.  I ordered the All-You-Can Eat Cod Fry for $11.95, while my husband ordered the Lake Perch Fry also at $11.95.  Both were served with hand cut, skin on french fries.  The cod was beer battered and fresh from the fryer.  The coating was light and crisp, and just what I look for in a high quality fish fry.  My husband ordered the perch, and it was excellent.  The serving size of the perch fry was generous, and we were quite impressed with the overall food quality.  The reorder on the additional cod took too long to come from the kitchen, but they are making all of the fish to order, so it's not just sitting around waiting to go to a table.  Service was a bit slow, but I am always patient with places when they first open.  It takes a while to work out the kinks.

The one of the owners, Mark, was making the rounds and greeting the guests.  They also run shuttles to the Brewer's game.

We will be back to try some of the other items on the menu.  The cheese curds looked good, and I can't wait to try the Cubano Sandwich.  It's nice to see a restaurant in the neighborhood doing well in this location.  Keep up the good work, and if you are in the neighborhood, stop by and check them out.
