Somewhat overly familiar waitress served nasty food. I wasn't her friend when I walked in and after the rubbish she put in front of me I wasn't when I walked out either.
Case in point - the green beans on the side were canned and boiled to mush. Really? In this day and age? Canned glop?
Just awful. There are better places for you to go in the area. Let Jim's stay hidden away.
This place is terrible. I have never been so blatantly disrespected in my life! I don't know if I've been treated badly by the old hags running the bar because I'm military or because I'm not ugly. We've given this trashy place several chances and always been treated rudely and had horrible service. I will continue to steer all my friends away from this place.
Review Source:Ignorant waitresses. Hey old ladies, we respected you when we walked in. But you're careless ignorance to me and my friends ensues I'll never return. I can't believe you would make fun of service members when they are sometimes your bread and butter. I tipped $2 bc you insulted a vet and looked at me crazy for saying something. Let me know when you get some class do I can respectively go back, drink and sing karaoke .. Until then .. Take a good hard look at yourself
Review Source:Next time a friend begins their description of an eatery with "it's a little stinky", I shall take heed. Â It was oh so much more than a little. Â Old sneakers...wet...because you've been sloshing around in fish juice stink. Â It was overpowering. Â I can almost guarantee you that it's the cheapo carpet that covers the dining rooms as the bar had newer carpet and hardwood floors and didn't bring the funk.
Food was mediocre to poor, service a bit on the surly side.  I ordered the Crab-Shrimp dip served with french bread.  The dip both smelled and tasted over the hill.  Seafood should NOT taste or smell fishy.  Their solution to this problem seemed to be to heat it up to a Hades-like temperature.  Menu price was $11.00 (pretty steep, in my experience) and I only ate about half.  Decided to go with some wings instead; pretty straightforward, not great-not bad.  As mentioned, service wasn't overly friendly either.
I could maybe come here with a sports team and down a few pitchers, but then, I'd do that just about anyplace.  My advice is to keep on moving and let the Hideaway be found by some other poor soul.
Although they have several different flavors, we ordered the buffalo wings in the "chef's special" flavor which is a delicious mix of Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Â I've never had wings quite like them before, but am surprised by that because they were so good.
The salmon salad was good, if a bit skimpy on the variety of included veggies. Â It was pretty much lettuce, tomato, and fish. Â My brother's burger, on the other hand, was HUGE. Â I'm not quite sure how he got it to fit in his mouth and noticed that he finished it off by giving up on the bun and eating the last bite or two of his extra thick patty with his fork.
I enjoyed my experience here, although I think I'll appreciate it more when the weather warms up and I can eat some crabs here. Â With the fisherman's warf type decor it'll be the perfect setting to whack on some Maryland crab legs with a mallet and suck the meat out of a claw or two.
Lots of fun. I went with a big group of people and they had karoke going! We were singing so loud and obnoxious to every song and drinking till they closed. One of the people in our group crowd surfed on all of us to bohemian rhapsody-he jumped off a bar stool onto our heads! Neeess to say, they didn't give us the boot when they probubly should have- this quiet in the woods place is where you want to go to have a great time!
Review Source:Decent place. Â We ate downstairs in front, which is much more of a bar than a restaurant. Â I asked about upstairs, and they said someone lives there, but it did sound like there were other tables in back.
Seems like a weekend biker bar, but not a tough crowd. Â I went on a Tuesday and at 11:45 AM, there were a few old men already pretty drunk at the bar watching Keeno or some other numbers game.
I had the crab cake at someone's recommendation and it was OK, all the other food options were neither low carb nor low fat, so don't go here looking for something light.
