This place is so huge! So many tables and the dance floor is a monster of a beast. Ok so we went here on a Friday night to see our good friends the Oracle Band! We are loyal groupies so we would follow them anywhere. This place is more of an older crowd vibe, but you wouldnt know that once the beer and music start flowing. So much fun!
The beer menu is pretty big and has a lot of variety, but getting one may be challenging. There are not enough servers and there is one line for all your drinks, which proved a bit difficult that night since there were so many folks. But that might be my only complaint.
The staff is really nice and the place feels safe and inviting. It is really easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. I did not eat any of the food so I cannot personaly vouvh for that, but those that did eat said it was pretty good! Come here for some goods times German style!
I was SO disappointed. I was meeting a bunch of family here for a family reunion of sorts and got myself SO hyped up for good German food.
The reason I am giving 2 stars instead of just 1 is that the sausage & cheese platter was good. Then I asked the waitress what was a popular seller and her favorite. I can't even remember was it was because it resembled no meat I have ever tasted. It was dry with no flavor, even after it was covered in a sauce that was less than poorly seasoned. My side was the dumplings. I had more of a spetzle type idea in my head, and I was WAY off. These things were bigger than a golf ball and tasted horrible! It came 3 to an order and I couldn't take more than a bite of 1. Needless to say my expectations were less than met.
On to the music. I was expecting what I believe anyone would going into a German themed place... a little Polka and some authentic music. No. Not even one song. The house band was playing covers of songs from the 80-90's, some flamingo, and meringue. I was past confused.
Maybe it was just a really bad day for them, but overall I hated it. I ended up eating more cheese and sausage than I should have all week (and i love cheese and sausage) just to fulfill my appetite.
I feel ripped off. Â I was looking forward to a night of Buddy Holly music, German food, and some great beers. Â
After paying $60 for tickets, we sat for about a half an hour trying to figure out how to order food . . Â not a waitress in sight. I finally went to the bar and saw that there were only two bartenders serving clients at the bar and THE ENTIRE dance hall with hundreds of people
Finally, the music was going to start.  Announcements were made, but we quickly learned  . . . nothing . . . because the sound system was not loud enough to be heard.
And then we figured out we could dance . . Â or we could keep on waiting for a waitress to find our table. Â And another drink was out of the question, 50 people were in line for the bar.
You would think the management at Blobs could figure out that they could sell a lot more food and alcohol if they were better staffed.
Wish I had a chance to comment on the food . . but we left. Â Frustrating.
