Sitting next to a hotel, this place is kind of tucked back off the street, so if you're not REALLY looking, you'll pass it up....GPS doesn't do a very good job of getting you there. Â Once there, parking was a NIGHTMARE. Â And this was on a Wednesday, not a weekend. Â I had to park around on the other side of the hotel and walk around. Â And I'm not really sure why parking was so crazy, because it really wasn't that busy once I got inside....weird. Â
Inside, I was seated immediately, and my server, Stephen, was quick to get me my half-price bottle of wine (every Weds!), and checked back on me frequently while I was waiting for my friend. Â In the background, I was able to hear some nice acoustic music, although I couldn't see the performer from where I was sitting. Â They did appear to have a nice bar, although I didn't go near it. Â
My friend and I opted for pizza, and I will say that it was very good, although they didn't do a very good job of cutting it. Â Their pizza is a rectangle, cut into squares, but they didn't bother to cut all the way through the crust, so we had to use our knives and pull, which ended up as a cheesy mess. Â But at least it was a very tasty cheesy mess. Â
Overall, I had a very good experience here, and Stephen is an awesome server.....very friendly and attentive, and made some great recommendations. Â Should I find myself back in the area, I could see myself stopping back in.
I don't really visit pubs often, so I may not have the best perspective on pub quality food and ambiance. But, compared to  pubs that I have been too, this one is pretty quite nice looking. I went during lunch, and the  dining is fairly open, airy and clean with a lot of light. I got a simple ordered a burger with fries. The burger was big (I think 1/2 lb uncooked) and it was cooked the way I asked for. The burger roll could have been a little more substantial to match the patty though. Overall, a good burger. The fries were a little strange .... they seem like bigger versions of the old Burger King fries (the ones with the outside coating that seems a little unnatural). They tasted OK, but were a little strange and also the amount of fries was lacking. Service was good ... the waitress was attentive and came by periodically to make sure we were doing well.
Overall a good experience. Not sure I would come back on my own will, but would certainly not mind coming if someone suggested to meet here.
Frank is an awesome waiter!
Sat outside with some friends and ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. I got the grapefruit crush which is freshly squeezed, yum! So refreshing. We all ordered a side salad with the zinfandel wine dressing, to share: the white pizza, crab dip and pomegranate wings.
The zinfandel wine dressing was ahhhmaaazing. I need that recipe (and it was low fat!)
The white pizza was delish, one of my favorite pizzas.
The crab dip was so creamy but not gravy like how it can be sometimes, really good!
I was a little nervous about the pomegranate wings but they were delish! They were just wings with the pomegranate sauce but it was surprisingly good, glad I tried them.
We sat outside on a beautiful sunny, spring day and it was great. I'll be back.
