The Ale House Columbia

BEER. Good selection of beer on tap and bottles.  So if beer is your thing, this place is sweet.  I had some mussles for an appitizer and the mustard crusted salmon, both were damn good!  The prices are not bad for the quality. The only qualm i have is that it's surrounded by strip malls. But that is just the way Columbia is.

At what point did the literal translation of Tapas turn into "Small Plates" for every restaurant owner who wanted capitalize on the insanity of customers who don't seem to realize they're just buying overpriced appetizers for $15 a pop?

That said... Ale House is a little pricey for the Columbia area, but they seem to be making it work because they stay packed (at least on the weekends). The biggest attractor for me at this place is the outdoor seating and live music they offer in the warmer months.

Other than that, Ale House just another copy of pubs in the Columbia area that offer wide selections of craft brewed beer like Frisco's Tap House, Pub Dog, Victoria Gastropub, etc...

Went for lunch last week.  First off, we wanted to sit outside as it was a beautiful day. When we went to the hostess stand they said outside was closed.  Very disappointing.  Then, they were out of the beer my husband ordered.  The food was terrible and the service left a lot to be desired.  And one of my biggest pet peeves, children's menu was expensive, their meals didn't include drinks and they serve fries with Mac and cheese.
